Delicate Villainess, Desperate Males – A Beast World Reverse Harem
Chapter 518 - 515: Hua Han’s Disappearance
Chapter 518: Chapter 515: Hua Han’s Disappearance
Bai Wanwan looked at the brother and sister before her—one tearfully begging for forgiveness, the other demanding to be punished as well, his face etched with guilt. She was at a loss for words.
"Yes, I understand. You two should go for now." She needed some time alone.
Jiao Yin knew she would be leaving soon. He longed to gaze at her a little longer, to exchange just a few more words.
But he knew her emotions were in turmoil, so he said no more. He simply pulled Jiao Yue away, who kept looking back, reluctant to leave and still wanting to say something.
After they left, Bai Wanwan took a deep breath, walked out of her room, and found Yin Ze playing with the little ones.
"Yin Ze," she began, "go find Zhu Xiu and Jin Yi. Tell them that if Hua Han shows up again, they are not to stop him. They are to bring him directly to me."
Yin Ze looked at her and nodded. Without another question, he immediately spread his wings and flew off to deliver the message.
However, no one expected the wait to extend past the day Bai Wanwan and her companions were scheduled to leave the Merfolk Territory.
The sea remained calm, but the figure of the fiery red fox was nowhere to be seen.
It was as if Hua Han had vanished completely into the vast, boundless sea, never to appear again.
"He still hasn’t shown up?"
Xin Feng nodded. "More than that, he hasn’t just failed to appear. Zhu Xiu and the others searched the nearby coast but found no sign of him."
Unease spread through Bai Wanwan’s heart like creeping seaweed.
She knew Hua Han. That fox might be cunning, but his devotion to her was undeniable.
He would never have vanished without a trace, not when he was so desperate to see her and explain—unless something truly terrible had happened.
’Did his injuries from the fight with Zhu Xiu and Jin Yi worsen, causing him to collapse in some deserted corner?’
’Or... had he met with an even more terrible fate?’
This unknown dread eventually overwhelmed all her other emotions.
"With no news of Hua Han for so long, I’m getting really worried. You all... go search farther out. If you find him, just bring him straight back."
Yin Ze and Jin Yi exchanged a glance. Although they were displeased with Hua Han’s past actions, they were equally concerned for his safety. More importantly, they couldn’t bear to see Wanwan so anxious.
"Alright, we’ll go at once," Yin Ze nodded, his massive golden wings unfurling in an instant.
Jin Yi added in a grave voice, "We’ll search the nearby seas and islands thoroughly. We’ll report back the moment we have any news."
However, the days passed, one by one.
Bai Wanwan waited anxiously in the Merfolk Territory for several more days, but the news her Beast Husbands brought back was one disappointment after another.
It was as if Hua Han were a drop of water that had merged into the ocean, leaving no trace. He had vanished completely.
This complete disappearance made Bai Wanwan’s heart sink ever lower.
She even began to regret her earlier harshness.
In her desperation, she couldn’t help but call out to the system in her mind, ’Hua Sheng, Hua Han has suddenly disappeared, and I can’t find him anywhere. Is there an item in the system that can pinpoint his location?’
The system’s familiar voice replied, "Host, yes there is. The ’Tracking Bird’ item in the new options menu can be used for this purpose. However, this item’s flight speed is rather slow, and the search will take longer the farther away the target is. It may take some time to get the result you desire."
"So you’re saying... I have to stay here and wait the whole time?" Bai Wanwan frowned.
"Not necessarily," the system explained. "No matter where you are, Host, the Tracking Bird will ultimately return to your side to report its findings. It’s just that if the distance is too great, its return journey will also take longer."
Bai Wanwan mulled it over for a moment before making a decision. ’Alright, I’ll wait two more days.’
’If Hua Han is nearby, the Tracking Bird should find him quickly.’
’If he’s not nearby... I’ll release the Tracking Bird first, and we’ll return to the Tiger Clan Tribe as planned. I can have the bird find me there to make its report.’
After quickly exchanging her Points for the tracking tool, a small, very plain black bird appeared in her hand.
"Host, let it get the scent from an item belonging to the person you are looking for. As long as they are still alive, it is guaranteed to find them."
Hearing this, Bai Wanwan took a few of Hua Han’s belongings from her System Space and let the bird sniff them. It then flew from her palm and took to the sky.
As she watched the little bird fly farther and farther away, another matter weighed on her mind.
When the new options had unlocked, she found they contained a vast array of new supplies, including, finally, contraceptive pills.
Because it was a procreation system, the contraceptive pills were extremely expensive, costing a full five thousand Points.
A single dose provided contraceptive effects for over twenty days.
She had wanted to give herself a break, which was why she had spent so many Points on the pills.
But the last time she’d been with Jiao Yin, the effects of the pill had just worn off.
And just like that, she had become pregnant with Jiao Yin’s child.
This was something she could no longer avoid. She had to have an open and honest talk with her Beast Husbands.
As night fell, Zhu Xiu, Yan Lie, Xin Feng, Jin Yi, and Yin Ze returned one by one from their search for Hua Han.
Bai Wanwan looked at their faces—tall, handsome, and each unique in their own way, yet all of them showed her the same absolute love. Her heart filled with gratitude, tinged with a sliver of guilt.
She felt the heavens had already been exceptionally kind to her, blessing her with so many wonderful mates.
She truly had been determined not to accept any new males.
But by a strange twist of fate, she and Jiao Yin had ended up together.
And in the Beast World, males often felt an extremely strong sense of belonging and loyalty toward a partner they had mated with.
She was almost certain that if she were to reject Jiao Yin, he would likely choose to live out the rest of his life in solitude.
But facing the Beast Husbands who had accompanied her, protected her, and loved her so deeply, she felt a pang of guilt that made the words catch in her throat.
Yan Lie strode over and was the first to sit beside her, his fiery red eyes filled with concern. "Wanwan, don’t worry so much. That guy Hua Han is sharp. We’ve spent the last few days turning this whole area upside down. His injuries weren’t life-threatening, so he must be fine. Maybe he ran into something urgent and had to leave for a bit. We’ll definitely find him."
He tried to comfort her, thinking the worry etched on her brow was solely for Hua Han.
Zhu Xiu sat down on her other side, his deep, dark eyes steady and reassuring. "Mm, Yan Lie is right. He might have run into something that needed his immediate attention. As long as he’s still anywhere in these waters, we’ll find him."
Xin Feng, sitting across from Bai Wanwan, keenly sensed that her turmoil wasn’t just about Hua Han.
He watched the way her eyelids were lowered and her fingers twisted together unconsciously. "Wanwan," he asked gently, "you called us all here... there’s something else you wanted to tell us, isn’t there?"
His gentle probing having hit the mark, Bai Wanwan took a deep breath.
She pressed her full, pink lips together, her cheeks warming slightly. She really didn’t know how to begin.
In truth, her Beast Husbands had already learned what had happened between her and Jiao Yin over the past few days.
Although they had all avoided the subject by tacit agreement, Bai Wanwan knew they must each have their own thoughts on the matter. They were only staying silent out of their love and respect for her.
"I..." She gathered her courage and finally spoke. "I know I promised you all that I wouldn’t accept any new males... but, what happened that day... it happened..."
