Delicate Villainess, Desperate Males – A Beast World Reverse Harem
Chapter 500 - 497: Infiltrators
Chapter 500: Chapter 497: Infiltrators
This was her final piece of advice for Jiao Yuan.
Jiao Yuan nodded heavily, his gaze turning clear and resolute. "Your Father Beast understands! Your Father Beast has already... decided to separate from her. I won’t be foolish again."
He had to get justice for his female cub, and he had to be responsible for the clan.
Bai Wanwan looked at his serious expression and nodded lightly. "This is your own decision, Father Beast. In any case... I don’t like her, and I don’t want to see her ever again."
A brief silence fell over the stone house.
Jiao Yuan understood his female cub’s attitude and made up his mind.
With the final farewell complete, the lingering connection Bai Wanwan felt because Jiao Yuan had risked his life to save her finally settled into peace.
She stood up, took one last look at the man who was the original host’s biological father, and turned to leave the stone house.
As twilight deepened, Bai Wanwan and her Beast Husbands headed home, walking into the golden sunset.
Inside, a warm yellow bonfire crackled and leaped, chasing away the evening chill of early spring.
"Wanwan, you go on inside. Yin Ze and I will take care of the prey first."
"Okay,"
Bai Wanwan smiled at them and pushed open the door to go inside.
Xin Feng was half-squatting beside a soft animal-hide cushion, holding a bowl of warm mashed meat and patiently feeding a few furry little ones.
The tiger cubs were growling and yipping as they fought over the food, while the Little Phoenix pecked demurely, letting out soft chirps.
Bai Wanwan held her breath and, like a nimble cat, tiptoed quietly toward Xin Feng’s broad back.
A sly smile played on her lips. She planned to throw her arms around him from behind and give him a scare.
However, just as she was about to succeed, it was as if Xin Feng had eyes in the back of his head. Without pausing in his feeding, he simply lifted his beautifully sculpted jaw slightly, a gentle smile already blooming in his eyes.
He didn’t even turn around as his low, pleasant voice sounded, "You’re back?"
Her little prank instantly seen through, Bai Wanwan dropped the act. She wrapped her arms around his lean, firm waist from behind, pressing her cheek against his warm back. With a hint of coquettishness, she said, "Mhm, it’s been a while. Did you miss me?"
Xin Feng set down the bowl, letting the little cubs play by themselves for a moment.
He turned, opened his strong, powerful arms, and swept her securely into his embrace. Resting his chin lightly on the crown of her head, his voice was low and full of a comforting strength. "Mhm, I did. Did you go see Lan Yi? Did she upset you?"
Bai Wanwan huffed. "She doesn’t have what it takes to upset me. She just makes me sick."
Xin Feng kissed the top of her head and coaxed her in a low voice, "She was never your real Mother anyway, so we don’t have to pay her any mind. From now on, you have us and our cubs. That’s all that matters."
His broad hand patted her back gently, conveying a silent promise.
Wrapped in familiar warmth and reassuring words, much of the gloom that Lan Yi had cast over Bai Wanwan’s heart dispersed.
She looked up and met Xin Feng’s deep eyes, which reflected the leaping bonfire and her own small figure.
She couldn’t help but reach out a finger and, with a hint of fascination, gently trace the sharp line of his jaw.
Xin Feng’s Adam’s apple bobbed. He caught her mischievous finger with a mixture of helplessness and adoration, his voice taking on a dangerously husky edge. "Wanwan, it’s still early. Don’t provoke me."
The cubs were playing right beside them; it really wasn’t a good time for intimacy.
But Bai Wanwan, like a little vixen who’d successfully stolen a treat, stood on her tiptoes and swiftly planted a kiss on his tightly pressed lips. Her eyes twinkled with mischief. "But you’re just so wonderful, I can’t help but want to provoke you. What should I do?"
Her sweet breath teased Xin Feng’s senses.
Xin Feng’s gaze darkened. The arm wrapped around her waist tightened abruptly as he leaned down to deepen the kiss.
However, just as their lips touched, before he could taste that sweetness, a commotion arose outside, growing louder as it approached. Mixed in with the noise was Shuang Hua’s clear but slightly rushed call: "Wanwan? Are you guys in there?"
Xin Feng’s body stiffened. He had no choice but to forcefully suppress his surging desire. He released her reluctantly, the pads of his fingers, searing hot, gently brushing over her instantly reddened and alluring lips. His voice was hoarse. "I’ll let you off for now."
His tone was filled with unsated regret.
Bai Wanwan’s cheeks flushed, but she tilted her head back and giggled, like a kitten that had successfully provoked a great beast.
Just then, Shuang Hua pushed the door open and entered, her expression grave and tinged with an imperceptible, complex emotion.
"Wanwan, it’s good you’re back!"
Seeing Bai Wanwan, Shuang Hua began to speak rapidly. "They caught some foreign males at the clan entrance—they dared to impersonate Flood Dragon Clan Beastmen to sneak in! Everyone’s gathered around interrogating them now. Do you want to go with Aunt Shuang to have a look?"
"Foreign males impersonating us?"
Bai Wanwan immediately perked up. ’I didn’t expect there to be spies.’
She had nothing better to do anyway. "Let’s go! I’m going right now."
Xin Feng released her and stood up. "I’ll go with you."
But the cubs behind him swarmed him again, tripping him up.
Xin Feng had no choice but to call Yan Lie over and tell him to get Zhu Xiu, so the two of them could accompany Wanwan and Shuang Hua.
Zhu Xiu and Yan Lie fell in step with a tacit understanding. Zhu Xiu walked slightly ahead and to the side of Bai Wanwan, his sharp gaze scanning their surroundings. Yan Lie guarded Shuang Hua and Bai Wanwan’s other side, his tall, sturdy frame forming a solid barrier that shielded them from any potential chaos.
The clearing in the center of the clan grounds was already lit as bright as day by torches, surrounded by layer upon layer of indignant Flood Dragon Beastmen.
The air was filled with a cacophony of shouts and questions.
Bai Wanwan and the others were stuck on the periphery, able to see nothing but a sea of bobbing heads.
"Be careful," Zhu Xiu reminded her in a low voice, his arm hovering behind Bai Wanwan to shield her from the jostling crowd.
In the center of the clearing, Jiao Yuan Clan Leader stood with his hands clasped behind his back, his expression as grim as a frost-covered mountain.
There was no longer any trace of illness or weakness on his face.
Several males, their arms twisted behind their backs and forced to their knees, were miserably enduring the furious gazes of the crowd.
"You’ve got the wrong people! We’re really not outsiders!" one of them struggled to argue, his voice laced with obvious panic.
"Still trying to argue!" a Flood Dragon Warrior beside him roared, kicking him mercilessly in the back.
Talent Power also struck out without mercy.
The intense pain instantly made it impossible for the male to maintain his disguise. With a CRACKLE of twisting bones and a low, hoarse hiss, his body rapidly transformed. Strange, mottled scales that could change color with the environment appeared on his skin, and he finally revealed an ugly, beastly form resembling a giant lizard.
It was a Chameleon, a master of disguise and stealth!
"ROAR!"
With the intruder’s identity confirmed, the surrounding Flood Dragon Beastmen erupted in an even greater roar of fury.
