Chapter 496: Chapter 493: Annihilation Operation

As the large group slowly departed from the Flood Dragon Tribe, Jiao Yuan tried several times to get close to his daughter, but each time he was intentionally or unintentionally blocked by the males surrounding Wanwan.

He couldn’t say anything, so he could only sulk in silence.

These males had not only spirited his daughter away without his knowledge, but now...

’The more he thought about it, the angrier and more frustrated he felt.’

Before they knew it, they had arrived at a treacherous swamp.

Jiao Yuan snapped back to his senses. "This place isn’t safe. Everyone, be careful..."

Before he could finish his sentence, Beastmen from the Chameleon Clan, camouflaged as dead trees and almost perfectly blended into the surroundings, launched their attack.

Deadly venom shot at them from all directions.

Jin Yi let out a low roar as a dazzling golden light erupted from his body. His Talent Power formed a solid shield, blocking the majority of the venom aimed at Bai Wanwan.

Golden-red flames coiled around Yin Ze’s body. The swampy mud boiled wherever he passed, forcing back or incinerating any Chameleons that tried to get close.

Xin Feng’s enormous claws tore through the air, swatting away any enemies who dared approach...

That brief opening was all the Flood Dragon Clan needed to cut them down.

From beginning to end, Zhu Xiu and Jinying stood steadily not far from Bai Wanwan. The battle was over before they even had to make a move.

When the news that the Flood Dragon Tribe’s elites had sortied, slaughtered their ambushing Beastmen, and were now aggressively advancing reached the Chameleon nest, Clan Leader Kui Ze completely panicked.

He smashed everything he could get his hands on, roaring, "Useless! You’re all useless! You couldn’t even stall them?"

He forced himself to calm down, his eyes glinting with madness. "Pull back the lines! Concentrate all forces at the core nest. Abandon the outer perimeter and activate all traps! Focus everything on killing Jiao Yuan!"

He knew full well that they had no chance of winning by facing the Flood Dragon Tribe’s powerhouses head-on. Their only hope for survival was a decapitation strike!

Then, they could lie dormant and wait for the Flood Dragon Clan to weaken. They would still have a chance to make a comeback.

"Clan Leader, they’re here!"

The Flood Dragon Clan arrived directly at the nest, storming into the depths of a vast, labyrinthine cavern.

Countless massive stalactites hung like the fangs of giant beasts from a dome so high it couldn’t be seen, dripping with corrosive, murky water.

The ground was covered in grotesque, jagged rocks, and a bottomless, underground river roared through the crevasses, emitting the pungent stench of sulfur and decay.

"ROAR!"

A deafening dragon’s roar shattered the dead silence of the cavern!

It was the roar of Clan Leader Jiao Yuan, filled with the fury of over a decade of deception, the heartache over his own daughter’s suffering, and the resolute determination for revenge!

This roar was like a battle horn signaling the charge!

"For the tribe! Kill!"

The Flood Dragon Warriors, who could no longer hold back, let out a heaven-shaking roar!

Clad in sturdy scale armor and wielding heavy Bone Spears and sharp Stone Axes, they surged through the narrow entrance like a bursting flood.

"HISS! For the path to dragonhood! Kill them all!" Clan Leader Kui Ze’s hoarse, shrill voice echoed from the depths of the cavern, laced with the desperation of an all-or-nothing gamble.

In an instant, the cavern "came alive"!

The seemingly motionless, moss-covered "Stone Pillars" suddenly twisted and contorted, revealing hideous, scaled bodies and poison-laced claws!

Hanging "stalactites" suddenly shot downward, turning into deadly projectiles.

Slime-covered assassins leaped out from the murky "puddles"!

Even the "ground" beneath their feet suddenly collapsed, revealing spike-filled pits.

The fearless Chameleon Warriors, perfectly camouflaged by their environment, pounced like specters from unexpected angles, launching suicidal attacks.

The entire cavern instantly transformed into a bloody slaughterhouse!

Facing this overwhelming wave of traps and ambushes, the regular Flood Dragon Warriors were immediately caught in a bitter struggle, their screams rising one after another!

"HMPH!"

Jiao Yuan snorted angrily, unleashing the immense Talent Power of a Red Rank Powerhouse.

Beside Bai Wanwan, Yin Ze instantly transformed into a Fire Phoenix. With a flap of his wings, the weaker Chameleons were reduced to ash in a flash.

Zhu Xiu remained as steadfast as a mountain, still standing guard by Bai Wanwan’s side.

Jinying waved his arm. Several male Chameleons charging toward them didn’t even have time to react. They only felt a cold sensation on their necks as three lines of blood appeared in the dim light, their lives instantly reaped.

The battle was brutal to the extreme!

The roars of the Flood Dragon Warriors intertwined with the dying hisses of the Chameleons. The sound of claws tearing through scales, the dull thud of Bone Spears piercing bodies, the crackle of burning flames, the CRACK of freezing ice... all merged into a symphony of death.

Blood stained the jagged ground red and flowed into the underground river, dyeing the murky water a startling crimson.

Severed limbs and mangled remains were everywhere. The thick stench of blood was almost enough to make Bai Wanwan suffocate!

She tried her best to stand still and remain calm, but Zhu Xiu and Jinying keenly sensed her slight stirring.

"Are you feeling unwell?" Jinying subconsciously raised a hand to support her.

But he found that another male had beaten him to it.

Zhu Xiu moved closer to Bai Wanwan, pulling her into his embrace. "If you’re scared, just close your eyes."

"I’m not scared!"

’It’s just that the smell in here is nauseating.’

Besides, in the year or two she had spent in the Beast World, she had grown accustomed to scenes like this.

Jinying’s gaze fell on the two of them embracing, and a bitter taste spread from the corners of his mouth.

Zhu Xiu sensed the other male’s gaze from behind. He glanced to the side, his eyes meeting Jinying’s.

The two males’ gazes met mid-air, striking fierce sparks.

Around them, the warriors of the Flood Dragon Tribe charged forward wave after wave. Led by the two Red Rank Males, Jiao Yuan and Yin Ze, they carved a bloody path right through the death traps meticulously laid out by the Chameleons!

They trampled over the bodies of their enemies, fighting while soaked in blood, advancing step by step toward the deepest part of the cavern—the core area that emanated the densest, most evil aura!

In the core area stood a massive altar built from strange, dark-red Crystal Stones, covered in twisted, ancient totems.

At the center of the altar, Clan Leader Kui Ze was like a cornered beast. His dark golden scales were stained with blood, and his eyes were filled with madness and despair.

Watching his clan’s elites being slaughtered like mincemeat, seeing those Red Rank Powerhouses advancing unstoppably like gods or demons, his heart was bleeding!

"Stop them! Throw your lives at them! Kill that female for me!" Kui Ze shrieked hysterically, making his final struggle.

The last few of his most loyal and powerful Chameleon guards, their eyes glinting with a deadly, suicidal light, charged toward the core of the Flood Dragon group like cannonballs.

Just as Zhu Xiu and Jin Yi were momentarily tied down by a desperate, Red Rank guard, and just as everyone’s attention was drawn to the fierce battle before the altar...

Behind the altar, at the base of an inconspicuous, moss-covered stalactite, a shadow that had almost merged with the darkness stirred.

It was Kui Ze’s final trump card—an old Chameleon death-sworn warrior who had camouflaged himself to the absolute limit, his aura so faint he was like a dead object!
