Delicate Villainess, Desperate Males – A Beast World Reverse Harem
Chapter 487 - 484: She’s Mine
Chapter 487: Chapter 484: She’s Mine
The night was deep and still.
Inside the stone house, the bonfire crackled softly, casting a warm glow upon the walls.
Bai Wanwan lay on a soft beast pelt, yet felt no desire to sleep.
The day’s events replayed in her mind like a movie.
She couldn’t help but wonder: was the body’s original owner abandoned by her Mother, or was there some other reason?
The thoughts chased away any hope of sleep.
She quietly rose, draped a thin beast-pelt shawl over her shoulders, pushed open the heavy wooden door, and stepped out onto the wooden platform.
The night wind, carrying the fresh scent of the Life Tree’s new leaves and branches, brushed against her cheeks, slightly easing the turmoil in her heart.
She looked up at the vast night sky, a swath of inky-blue satin spangled with dazzling stars. It was a pristine, unpolluted view unique to the Beast World Continent.
’Hua Sheng.’ she called out silently in her mind.
"Host, I’m here." Hua Sheng’s voice immediately rang in her mind.
"Tell me..." Bai Wanwan gazed at the boundless starry sky, her eyes losing focus. "If I save up enough Points, can I leave this world?"
Her voice held a subtle, probing note of longing.
"Leave?" Hua Sheng’s voice shot up, filled with shock. "Host, you... are you going to give up halfway? Are you going to abandon me and run for it? Even if you don’t care about our time together, can you really bear to leave your Beast Husbands?" Its words came in a rush, a clear sign of its genuine panic.
"What are you panicking for? Of course I couldn’t leave them." Bai Wanwan didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. "How could I ever abandon them? I was just..."
She paused, gathering her thoughts. "The Beast World Continent is amazing, but what if I’ve been here a long time, and... maybe I want to take a vacation somewhere else in the future?"
"Oh, so that’s what you meant... You scared me," Hua Sheng said, clearly relieved. "Of course you can, Host! This system is the product of an advanced civilization; traversing lesser worlds is one of my basic functions! Just keep working hard to complete system tasks and actively earn Points. Once you have enough, the next option will appear, and you’ll be able to open the Space-Time Gate!"
"Space-Time Gate?" Bai Wanwan’s eyes lit up instantly, all her worries about the original owner’s past forgotten. "Will it take a lot of Points?"
"Probably not too many. You can’t do it now because your total Points haven’t reached the threshold. Once they do, the option will unlock. Then, you can go wherever you want. You could visit family back on your old home, Earth, or travel to other interesting planes for fun. You could even take your Beast Husbands on a honeymoon to an Otherworld—it’s all possible!"
The system’s voice paused. "However... it would be best for you, Host, to accumulate Points as quickly as possible and get your Beast Husbands upgraded to Red Rank. Once they reach Red Rank, they’ll be the strongest beings on this plane. Then it will be relatively safe for you to travel to any world."
Hearing this, Bai Wanwan’s heart filled with anticipation.
’Maybe I really can go back to Earth for a visit soon,’ she thought. ’And I could even travel to other planes...’
She was lost in daydreams about the future, the corners of her lips curling into a small smile. She might have even murmured something aloud without realizing it.
Just then, a powerful and familiar presence, blazing with heat, instantly enveloped her.
A pair of strong, powerful arms suddenly wrapped around her from behind, pulling her into a firm, searing embrace.
"Where... did you just say you were going?" Zhu Xiu’s deep, magnetic voice rumbled right beside her ear, carrying a heat the night wind couldn’t dissipate... and an undisguised sense of danger.
The arm around her waist tightened, radiating intense possessiveness.
Bai Wanwan’s body stiffened slightly.
’Oh, crap!’
’I was so lost in thought, I must have said something out loud.’
She immediately spun around, plastering a placating smile on her face. Her hands found the open lapels of Zhu Xiu’s beast-pelt tunic as she tilted her head back, blinking her large, innocent eyes. "Hey, when did you get here? You scared me! Where would I go? This is my home, with you and everyone else!"
She was trying to get away with it by acting cute.
Zhu Xiu’s deep, golden-red eyes glinted in the moonlight with an all-knowing light. He clearly wasn’t fooled by her cute act.
He lowered his head and gave her soft lips a punishing little bite, just hard enough to leave a tingling mark.
"Little liar," he murmured, his low voice laced with a warning and absolute dominance. "No matter where you run, I’ll hunt you down and drag you back. You can never, ever escape us."
The force and conviction in his words made Bai Wanwan’s heart flutter.
She stopped trying to defend herself. Instead, meeting his searing gaze, she rose onto her tiptoes and proactively wrapped her arms around his neck.
"Fine," she said, her voice full of mirth, but her eyes were dazzlingly bright. "I’ll be waiting for you to hunt me down. We’ll see if you can... catch me."
Before the words had even faded, she pressed her lips to his, cool and thin, with a fiery passion that matched his own.
Zhu Xiu’s eyes darkened. He instantly seized control, deepening the provocative kiss, turning it into a long, soul-stealing embrace.
Moonlight spilled down like quicksilver, elongating the shadows of the two lovers locked in a passionate kiss. Their figures, cast upon the bluestone ground, formed a beautiful and timeless silhouette.
The night wind swept past, stirring their hair and the hems of their clothes as if draping them in a flowing, romantic veil.
But just as they were lost in this tender, romantic moment, Zhu Xiu’s eyes—flushed red and steeped in passion—suddenly sharpened.
His keen senses detected a prying gaze from the edge of the distant, dense forest—a gaze that had all but melted into the shadows.
The gaze was cold and focused, filled with an unsettling covetousness.
A flash of icy killing intent crossed Zhu Xiu’s eyes.
Without breaking stride, he pulled the female in his arms even tighter, as if trying to merge her into his own body. He deepened the kiss, an even more dominant assertion of his ownership and protection.
In the distance, the figure hidden in the shadows of the gnarled, ancient trees felt as though the sharpest Ice Cone had just pierced his heart.
He watched with his own eyes as Bai Wanwan stood on her toes, wrapped her arms around Zhu Xiu’s neck, and sweetly offered her lips. He watched as that powerful, domineering male instantly seized control, imprisoning her tightly in his arms for a kiss so deep and lingering it was suffocating.
Under the moonlight, their intimate silhouette was a searing image that burned itself onto his retinas.
A wave of cold, violent rage instantly shattered the dam of reason he had struggled to maintain.
His hands, hanging at his sides, clenched into fists so tight his nails dug deep into his palms. Crimson beads of blood dripped silently onto the decaying leaves below, but he felt no pain.
A tempest raged within his bottomless eyes.
"She... is mine!"
