But most terrifying of all was the King Cobra coiled on the highest rock. Its massive body glinted with an eerie, cold black light, and its vertical pupils flickered with a cruel, bloodthirsty gleam.

"Speak! Where is she?" Jin Yi’s voice was like a clap of thunder, making the reef tremble.

Roger grinned, revealing a blood-stained, malicious smile. There was no fear in his eyes, only crazed provocation. "Heh... want to know? Too late! She’s already... PUH!"

His words were cut short by a vicious pounce from Xin Feng, and he coughed up another mouthful of blood.

Just as the males, utterly enraged by his attitude, were about to deliver the killing blow, a flash of desperate madness gleamed in Roger’s eyes.

He suddenly pulled a strangely shaped object, gleaming with a cold, metallic luster, from a damp animal-hide pouch at his waist.

It was Bai Wanwan’s lost laser gun!

Roger laughed maniacally, his fingers fumbling with the trigger.

However, he had no idea how to use it. The laser gun merely emitted a few faint HUMS in his hand, firing a crooked, harmless beam of light that struck a nearby rock and kicked up a few sparks.

This act—especially seeing Bai Wanwan’s possession held so sacrilegiously in enemy hands—completely ignited a towering inferno of rage in the hearts of Zhu Xiu and the other males.

"You’re courting death!"

"Put her things down!"

"Tear him to shreds!"

A frenzied siege erupted in an instant!

Jin Yi and Yan Lie lunged simultaneously in a fatal pounce, while Zhu Xiu’s lightning-fast Snake Tail, carrying immense force, lashed out. The attacks rained down upon Roger like a torrential storm!

After roaring, he leaped without hesitation. With a body full of wounds and a mad laugh, he plunged headfirst into the bone-chillingly cold, surging sea and was instantly swallowed by the rolling tide!

’The Merfolk clan? Jiao Yin?’ Zhu Xiu mulled over the names.

Xin Feng moved closer. "The Merfolk live in the deep sea. We’re all Land Beasts and Flying Beasts; we can’t dive that deep..."

Jin Yi, standing nearby, mused for a moment. "We can find a way to lure the Merfolk out."

And so, after some discussion, the males decided to lurk around the sea. They would capture and brutally torture any Merfolk they saw, forcing them to reveal Wanwan’s whereabouts.

When Jiao Ming learned that Land Beasts had killed his subordinates, he immediately sent a trusted subordinate with a large group of Merfolk to shore, intending to make these Land Beasts understand that this was the sea—no place for them.

Zhu Xiu looked at the dense crowd of Merfolk before him, his voice cold and merciless. "If we can’t get answers, kill them all!"
