Chapter 361: Chapter 361: Planting a Kiss

Bai Wanwan thought she was hearing things. It took her a moment to be sure.

"You said... my cub?" She pointed to her own nose.

Bai Wanwan’s heart was filled with disbelief.

Her memory was still stuck in the 21st century. Subconsciously, she understood she had some connection to this world.

She also guessed she might have a connection to those four males.

But she had never imagined that she had even given birth to a cub.

She shot up from the ground. "The cub? Where is it?"

Yin Ze watched her with a complicated gaze, taking in her emotional shift from disbelief to joy.

"Just before you came out, it quietly jumped out the window and ran off."

Bai Wanwan opened her mouth, wanting to ask him why he hadn’t stopped it.

But he certainly had the freedom not to interfere.

She didn’t say these words out loud, but Yin Ze could tell what she was thinking.

"I just wanted to talk to you first. Besides... since it comes looking for you in the middle of the night, it will definitely come back."

Hearing Yin Ze say this, she felt relieved.

Bai Wanwan’s feelings were also complicated. ’Here I am, not even married yet, and my potential partner already knows I’ve been with someone else and even have a cub.’

The situation was indeed a bit awkward.

"Okay, what did you want to talk to me about?"

"Do you want to know who the cub’s Father Beast is?"

Bai Wanwan looked at him in astonishment. "You know?"

Her hand unconsciously gripped his arm.

He hadn’t known at first, but the other scent on the tiger cub was one he realized he’d smelled very recently.

It was very familiar.

So he had sat here for half the night, going over every detail, until he finally remembered.

The other scent on the tiger cub came from the male who had been standing in front of their home.

’So... he’s also one of Wanwan’s Beast Husbands.’

’But he clearly saw Wanwan with me. Why didn’t he say anything and just watch in silence?’

’He even turned and left.’

"Yes, we just saw him yesterday."

Bai Wanwan’s hand tightened on his arm. "Who is it?"

"The male who was talking to you in front of the stone house last night—he’s the tiger cub’s Father Beast."

A kaleidoscope of emotions played across Bai Wanwan’s face.

’So... I have that kind of relationship with him.’

’No wonder he looked at me with such a complicated expression.’

’He didn’t acknowledge me and left in anger. Was it because I don’t remember him and was with Yin Ze?’

She immediately felt like she was on pins and needles, as if she’d been caught cheating.

Having too much empathy at a time like this was excruciating.

She immediately put herself in his shoes. ’If it were me, I’d want to strangle the other person.’

Yin Ze watched the expressions flicker across her face and finally couldn’t bear it. "Do you want me to take you to him?"

"Yes, let’s go find him now. I want to get things clear."

Yin Ze grunted in agreement, then pulled back Bai Wanwan, who had already started to walk away.

"Wait. Wash up and eat something first, then we’ll go find him."

’Fine...’

Bai Wanwan quickly washed up, ate a piece of jerky, and then pestered Yin Ze to leave at once.

But the Tiger Clan Tribe was too big, and finding someone was not easy.

Even though Bai Wanwan now knew her Beast Husband was named Chou Rong and that he was the Young Clan Leader of the Tiger Clan.

But as they asked around, no one knew where he was.

"Are you looking for the Young Clan Leader?"

Someone overheard them and walked over to talk.

"Yes, do you know where he is?"

"Then you’ve come to the right person. I ran into the Young Clan Leader at the tribe’s main gate this morning and even greeted him. He went into the mountains to hunt."

"Do you know when he usually comes back?"

"That I don’t know. Do you have urgent business with the Young Clan Leader?"

Bai Wanwan obviously couldn’t tell a stranger her private affairs, so she just forced a smile and said, "There’s just something I need his help with. I’ll wait a bit longer then."

And so they waited at the tribe’s main gate from dawn until dusk.

"It’s already dark. Why isn’t he back yet?"

Bai Wanwan stood on her tiptoes, peering out.

"He might have gotten sidetracked with something else."

"Then wait with me a little longer. If he still doesn’t show up, we’ll come back and find him tomorrow."

"Okay."

Fewer and fewer Beastmen were coming and going from the tribe. Eventually, the wide streets within the tribe were empty of any Beastman figures.

"Wanwan, let’s go back. We’ll come again tomorrow."

"Alright..."

Bai Wanwan sighed and drew back her gaze. She remembered she still had her cub.

’Maybe if we hurry back, the cub will come looking for me again tonight.’

When she hurried back to the stone house, holding Yin Ze’s hand, the room was empty.

"It didn’t come." She looked at Yin Ze, a little disappointed.

Over the course of the day and night, he had convinced himself.

If Wanwan hadn’t gone through all this, he might never have met her in his entire life.

And all of this had happened before he met her.

It couldn’t be changed, and he had no right to ask anything of her.

Since she had a cub, he would just treat it as his own.

Maybe in the future... he and Wanwan would have their own cubs too.

Thinking this, his gloomy mood gradually dissipated.

He hadn’t let go of her hand. "It seems like it doesn’t want you to find it. If you search everywhere, you might scare it and make it afraid to show up."

"Why do you think it’s afraid of me? Was I too harsh with it before?"

"Don’t overthink it. When it comes, you can hold it and ask it yourself to get things clear."

"Okay."

Bai Wanwan couldn’t wait. After dinner, she washed up quickly and lay quietly in bed, pretending to be asleep.

Yin Ze sensed the female’s eagerness and chuckled softly. "Don’t be nervous. If you pretend too obviously, it’ll notice."

"Then what should I do? I don’t know how to pretend."

Yin Ze patted her lightly. "Just relax. If you happen to fall asleep, I’ll wake you up."

So, she lay in Yin Ze’s arms just like any other day, but tonight she wasn’t sleepy at all.

Her ears were pricked, listening carefully for any sound from outside.

Finally... she heard a faint noise.

Yin Ze’s hand also paused. "Don’t move."

Bai Wanwan immediately shut her eyes and continued to feign sleep.

The window was once again pushed open by a fluffy white paw. A moment later, a small head poked in.

Just like the day before, the tiger cub observed for a while. After making sure the Beastmen hadn’t noticed it, it squeezed its whole body through the window.

Then, it landed lightly on all fours and bounded across the floor, reaching the side of the stone bed in no time.

Even though Bai Wanwan’s eyes were closed and she couldn’t hear anything, she could just feel something slowly approaching her.

Her heart beat faster and faster.

’Is this little cub really mine?’

A moment later, she felt it jump up. Then, a furry sensation brushed against her waist and legs.

Perhaps because it had already slept here the previous night, the tiger cub was much more at ease.

After placing its paws on Bai Wanwan’s waist, it indulged itself, snuggling into her embrace and closing its eyes.

Sniffing the familiar scent, the tiger cub let out a contented snore...

When Bai Wanwan opened her eyes, they were red-rimmed and glistening with tears.

Not wanting to startle the cub, she reached out and gently stroked its fur.

Then she leaned down and pressed a kiss to the center of its forehead.
