Chapter 358: Chapter 358: Are You My Beast Husband?

Bai Wanwan’s lips curved slightly into a polite but distant smile. Her gaze lingered on Chou Rong for only a fleeting moment before quickly moving away as she continued walking without stopping.

But Chou Rong’s brow furrowed slightly at her strange and cold gaze, a peculiar feeling stirring in his heart.

He subconsciously glanced at her a few more times. Bai Wanwan’s expression when she looked at him just now held no trace of emotion.

They hadn’t interacted much, but she had borne him a litter of cubs. ’Why is she looking at me like a total stranger?’

The shift in Chou Rong’s mood did not escape the notice of Feng Xi, who was beside him.

Feng Xi followed his gaze, and her eyes landed on Bai Wanwan’s slender, delicate back, a hint of inquiry flashing in their depths.

’That female is stunningly beautiful, and she’s accompanied by a male whose looks are no less than Chou Rong’s... Is she also a Holy Female?’

’Could it be... that Brother Chief Chou Rong refused to mate with me because of her?’

"Brother Chief Chou Rong, did you know that female just now?"

She had been here for quite some time but had never seen that female before.

Chou Rong had already quickly composed himself. He turned to look at her. "I don’t know her."

But Feng Xi kept staring at his face, trying to read more emotion from it.

But she failed. Brother Chief Chou Rong was always like this. She could never see the answers she wanted in his expression.

’But that’s alright, I can investigate.’

’I hope that female and Brother Chief Chou Rong have no connection whatsoever.’

’Otherwise... I don’t even know what I might do.’

Bai Wanwan and Yin Ze arrived at the square where the Traveling Merchants gathered. The area was noisy and bustling, with stalls filled with goods from various tribes.

Yin Ze led her forward a few steps and asked a Traveling Merchant, "Excuse me, among the tribes you passed on your journey, have you heard any news of a lost female?"

The Traveling Merchant shook his head, his tone firm. "Haven’t heard anything. Females are treasures to a tribe. How could one be lost so easily?"

As he spoke, his gaze passed over Yin Ze and landed on Bai Wanwan, his eyes suddenly lighting up. "Could it be... that this is the lost female?"

Yin Ze’s gaze turned cold. He took a step to the side, subtly blocking the other’s probing stare, and said in a deep voice, "No, she is my Wife."

The Traveling Merchant narrowed his eyes, seemingly suspicious, but seeing Yin Ze’s stern expression, he didn’t ask any more questions.

Yin Ze continued down the street, asking several merchant caravans along the way, but he got no news of a lost female from any of them.

Yin Ze turned to look at Bai Wanwan. ’My Wanwan is so beautiful; she must have been a very popular female among the males in her tribe.’

’How could there be no news about her?’

’Could she be from a more remote tribe?’

’But how could a lone female like her cross thousands of miles to reach this region?’

’If she was washed down by a river, a small female like her should have died long ago.’

’The fact that she’s alive means she wasn’t in the water for long. Otherwise, when I found her, she might have already been gone.’

He took Bai Wanwan’s hand and turned to leave. "It’s alright. We’ll go ask somewhere else."

Bai Wanwan followed behind him and tugged his hand. "This is a lot of trouble, isn’t it?"

"Not even the Traveling Merchants know anything. It seems this is a bit tricky..." Bai Wanwan gently bit her lower lip, her beautiful brows furrowing slightly, revealing a trace of worry.

Seeing this, Yin Ze immediately soothed her in a gentle voice, "Don’t worry. If we really can’t find any clues, I’ll accompany you to search one tribe after another. I’m a fast flyer; I’m sure I can find it quickly."

Warmth filled Bai Wanwan’s heart. She looked up at him, a grateful smile blooming in her eyes. "Yin Ze, thank you."

A slight smile touched Yin Ze’s lips as he gently caressed the back of her hand with his fingertips. "You don’t have to thank me," he said in a low voice.

They spent the entire day searching for clues in the Tiger Clan Tribe.

But they didn’t find a single piece of information related to her.

"Wanwan, it’s very likely we came to the wrong place. We’ll stay here for two more days. If we still don’t find any useful information, we’ll leave for somewhere else."

"Okay."

She had no objections. She had lost her memories and had little understanding of this world.

It was a good thing she had Yin Ze by her side.

’With him around, he knows how to handle things.’

It wasn’t until dusk that the two of them headed back, hand in hand.

Bai Wanwan was exhausted and wanted nothing more than to collapse on the spot.

But Yin Ze showed no signs of fatigue. He not only started a fire to roast meat for her but also drew water for her to wash up.

For the next two days, the two of them were inseparable, like true partners. Their interactions grew more natural, a tacit understanding developed between them, and their feelings for each other deepened unconsciously.

"Wanwan, you don’t need to go out today. I’ll go trade for some food. When I get back, we’ll leave this place."

"Okay, then hurry back."

She walked him to the door and watched until Yin Ze waved and was out of sight.

And all of this was seen by Chou Rong, who was watching from the shadows.

After two days of observation, Chou Rong confirmed that there was only this one male by her side, while Xin Feng and Zhu Xiu were nowhere to be seen.

’Where did those two males go?’

’Or... did she just discard them for someone new?’

’Although I’ve only seen him once, I can tell the male by her side is extremely powerful, even stronger than Xin Feng and Zhu Xiu.’

’Since she could abandon them so easily, then... there’s no need for her to see the cubs.’

His eyes darkened, and just as he was about to turn and leave, Bai Wanwan suddenly turned her head, her gaze colliding directly with his.

Chou Rong froze for a second, but he quickly averted his gaze and continued to walk away.

Bai Wanwan hesitated for a moment, then quickly chased after him.

She jogged a few steps to block Chou Rong’s path, looking up at him with clear, curious eyes. "It’s you? You were standing outside just now... were you waiting for me?"

She had a feeling this male seemed to know her, so she couldn’t help but chase after him to ask.

She stopped him in his tracks.

Chou Rong looked down at her, only to find her gaze completely unfamiliar, as if she were looking at a Beastman she had never seen before.

A ridiculous thought suddenly occurred to Chou Rong.

He was silent for a moment before voicing the question on his mind, "Where are Xin Feng and Zhu Xiu?"

Bai Wanwan froze, asking blankly, "Who are you talking about?"

Then, a flash of delight crossed her eyes. "You know me, don’t you? Those two males you mentioned... are they my Beast Husbands?"

’Even with amnesia, I can still remember those four faces. I feel like they must be extremely important to me.’

A flicker of emotion crossed Chou Rong’s eyes. "You don’t remember?" he asked, his voice cold and deep.

Bai Wanwan nodded, her tone dejected. "I was in an accident. Someone rescued me from an underground river, and when I woke up, I couldn’t remember anything."

Chou Rong stared at her with a complicated expression, momentarily speechless.

Bai Wanwan hesitated for a moment before asking tentatively, "Did I... live here before? And you and I... we don’t have any relationship, do we?"

She carefully observed his expression, completely bewildered.

’If we are connected, why did he pretend not to know me time and again? If we aren’t, why would he show up here?’
