Bai Wanwan raised an eyebrow. "Jin Yi likes me? That’s news to me."

The Bear Clan Beastman glared at her, then pointed at Zhuo Ling. "She’s the one who told us. So, are you saying Jin Yi doesn’t like you?"

Bai Wanwan looked over at Zhuo Ling, who avoided her gaze, looking obviously guilty.

Bai Wanwan scoffed and turned her head to face the Bear Clan Beastman.

Although she was worried about her current predicament, she knew that when it came down to it, revealing her identity as a Holy Female would give her some room to negotiate.

’So, I can’t panic. I have to find a way to placate them, then figure out how to save myself.’

Bai Wanwan didn’t answer their question. Instead, she asked, "And what happens to the female who *isn’t* the one Jin Yi likes?"

The Bear Clan male’s gaze swept over her, and then over Zhuo Ling.

"Rest assured, we don’t kill females. Especially not high-quality females like you two. I’ll take her back to the Bear Clan Tribe to bear cubs for our males."

"No!"

Zhuo Ling frantically shook her head. The clan she disliked the most was the Bear Clan.

The Bear Clan males looked as if their transformations had been unsuccessful; even in human form, they were exceedingly hairy and ugly.

She asked cautiously, "Then what about the female Jin Yi likes?"

The beastman smiled. "Then it will depend on whether Jin Yi is willing to give his life for her. If he is, I can spare her and let her leave."

Zhuo Ling’s eyes went wide, and she was on the verge of declaring that *she* was the female Jin Yi liked.

But she had just lied. If she changed her story now, they probably wouldn’t believe her.

She glanced over and saw Bai Wanwan staring at her with a smirk.

"So, can you tell me now? Which of you two is the female Jin Yi *actually* likes?"

Before they captured Zhuo Ling, they had questioned many beastmen from the Golden Lion Tribe. They had learned from them that this female named Zhuo Ling was to be Jin Yi’s future Wife.

But she wouldn’t admit it, so just to be safe, they grabbed the other female as well.

Their gazes swept back and forth between the two females, but they still couldn’t be sure which one Jin Yi actually liked.

After all, the female named Bai Wanwan was undeniably beautiful.

Bai Wanwan shrugged, leaning quietly against the stone wall where she was bound by vines. "Ask her. It’s whoever she says it is."

’I can’t figure out what these beastmen are really after,’ she thought, ’so it’s best to just play along for now.’

The males’ gazes fell back on Zhuo Ling. Her lips trembled, but this time, she didn’t declare that Bai Wanwan was the one Jin Yi liked with the same decisiveness as before.

Seeing that neither female would speak, the males weren’t in any hurry. "No matter. Your Young Clan Leader is already on his way. I’ll find out who he really likes soon enough."

The Bear Clan and the Golden Lion Tribe were not far apart, and small conflicts often broke out between them over territory and prey.

The Bear Clan’s Young Clan Leader, Xiong Zong, had been at odds with Jin Yi since they were young, and they couldn’t stand the sight of each other. But their rivalry turned into a true feud when the female Xiong Zong was about to form a union with saw Jin Yi and, afterward, refused to go through with it no matter what.

With this new hatred piled on top of old grudges, Xiong Zong wanted to teach Jin Yi a lesson so that he would never dare to provoke him again.

Xiong Zong didn’t linger. He turned and left with a few of his males.

Once Bai Wanwan and Zhuo Ling were alone, Bai Wanwan’s expression turned frosty. "Zhuo Ling, was this you plotting against me again?"

"I didn’t! They wanted to capture the female Jin Yi likes. Are you saying Jin Yi doesn’t like you?"

Bai Wanwan was so angry she laughed. "Funny, because I seem to recall you constantly reminding me that *you’re* the female Jin Yi likes. Did I lose my memory, or are you losing your mind?"

Ever since the last incident with the farting and diarrhea, which had shattered her pristine image in front of Jin Yi and her own Beast Husband, Zhuo Ling hadn’t dared to provoke Bai Wanwan lightly.

So, she didn’t answer Bai Wanwan’s question. Instead, she closed her eyes. "I’m tired."

With that, she started pretending to be asleep.

’I can settle the score with Zhuo Ling later,’ she thought.
