Chapter 267: Chapter 267: So Beautiful

The feeling came on so suddenly, as if something bad was about to happen.

She immediately turned to scan her surroundings.

The cubs were frolicking, the females were laughing, and the males stood on the riverbank, chatting...

Everything seemed perfectly normal.

Shi Hua, noticing her looking all around, stopped catching fish and wiped the water from her face. "Wanwan, what’s wrong?"

Bai Wanwan turned, frowning. "It’s nothing. Probably just my imagination."

She turned back, ready to continue catching fish.

But the feeling came back.

Bai Wanwan grew flustered, and her desire to play in the water vanished.

She simply sat on the bank to compose herself.

Yan Lie kept glancing back at her. When he saw her sitting quietly on the bank, he patted the cubs on the head and told them to play by themselves.

He walked over and sat down beside Bai Wanwan, leaning in to study her face. "Wanwan, are you upset?"

Bai Wanwan shook her head and decided to tell him the truth. "No... I just suddenly felt a chill down my spine. I feel anxious, like something bad is about to happen."

She had thought Yan Lie would comfort and reassure her, but he turned out to be even more nervous than she was.

"Really?" A serious expression settled over his handsome, cheerful features. "I think we’ve caught enough fish. How about we take the cubs and head back now?"

The last time other males had blocked their way, he had failed to protect Wanwan, and they had nearly died together in a beast tide.

It had been weighing on his heart ever since. So, even if there was only the slightest chance of something bad happening, Yan Lie wouldn’t dare risk it.

Bai Wanwan hesitated. The strange, lingering feeling hadn’t gone away, so she nodded. "Alright. Let’s head back for now. We can come play another time."

With her agreement, Yan Lie immediately stood and went to scoop the cubs out of the river.

He scooped the cubs out in a flash and called to Shi Hua, "Shi Hua! Wanwan isn’t feeling well. We’re all heading back."

Since Shi Hua’s Beast Husband wasn’t present, it was his responsibility to get her and her children back safely to prevent any mishaps.

Shi Hua had no objections and was, in fact, worried about Bai Wanwan’s health.

She immediately carried her two cubs ashore and rushed over to Bai Wanwan on the bank. "Wanwan, what’s wrong? Is it serious?"

Bai Wanwan, seeing her worried expression, said reassuringly, "It’s nothing serious. Yan Lie is just being overly cautious."

"If you’re not feeling well, we should get back quickly. We can always come back to play another time, anyway."

Yan Lie did a quick headcount of the cubs. Once he confirmed they were all there, he led the two females back toward the tribe.

Dozens of Beastmen were frolicking by the river, and the path between the tribe and the mountains was also full of them.

Hidden behind a large rock, Zhuo Ling saw Bai Wanwan about to leave under her Beast Husband’s protection and began to whimper anxiously.

But the male’s hand was clamped tightly over her mouth, and she couldn’t make a sound.

She could only stare, her eyes wide with frantic urgency: ’Hurry up and do something! If you don’t move now, Bai Wanwan will make it back to the tribe!’

Only when Bai Wanwan was a good distance away did the males seem to remember Zhuo Ling.

"That was the one who just left, right?"

Zhuo Ling nodded frantically: ’Yes, yes, that’s her! What are you waiting for? Go get her!’

The males, however, were in no hurry. Dragging her along, they slowly began to follow...

Bai Wanwan and Shi Hua walked ahead with the cubs, while Yan Lie followed behind, his gaze vigilantly scanning their surroundings.

To his slight relief, they encountered many males from the Golden Lion Clan along the way.

And just like that, they returned to the tribe safely.

It wasn’t until Bai Wanwan was sitting on the stone bench at her own home that the feeling of unease finally dissipated.

"Feeling better now, Wanwan?"

"Much better."

Bai Wanwan figured it must have just been her imagination, so she put the matter out of her mind.

The cubs weren’t sleepy, so they couldn’t be cooped up in the house. They were frolicking and running around by the entrance.

Yan Lie stood at the entrance watching them.

Although Shi Hua’s cubs were still small, they could manage to take a few wobbly steps to follow the others.

Shi Hua had a hands-off approach to her cubs, and with Yan Lie outside, she didn’t keep a constant eye on them.

Bai Wanwan also felt that since they were born Beastmen, they shouldn’t be overly protected.

But what could they do? With her status, and with so many people looking to cause trouble, they had to be more careful with their cubs than other Beastmen.

"Wanwan, come over to my place. There’s something I want to ask you."

After a glance outside, Shi Hua secretively pulled Bai Wanwan toward her home.

Bai Wanwan tilted her head, smiling at her. "What’s this all about? You’re being so mysterious."

Shi Hua’s ears turned red, but she didn’t answer directly. "You’ll know when you see it," she said.

It was only a few steps away.

Shi Hua pulled Bai Wanwan into her bedroom.

She went to the side of the bed and reached under a pile of animal hides, pulling something out. Her movements were furtive, and her expression was a little shy.

"Wanwan, look... Is this how you make that... thing you wear?"

Bai Wanwan was wondering what she was talking about. She looked down and saw two small pieces of fabric.

She understood instantly.

"Ahem... It’s actually quite beautiful."

Bai Wanwan gave her a knowing look and picked up the bra she had made.

It was exquisitely stitched, its edges adorned with small bone beads.

Shi Hua grew embarrassed and scratched her cheek. "The last time you were changing, Wanwan, I saw it... I thought it was so beautiful that I tried to copy it. But I don’t know if I made it correctly, so I wanted to ask you."

’She recalled the sight from last time. Even she, a female, found it stunning. Sister Wanwan’s Beast Husband must love it.’

Bai Wanwan turned it over in her hands, admiring Shi Hua’s masterful handiwork more and more.

When Shi Hua saw her just looking without saying anything, she grew worried. "Did I not do it right, Wanwan?"

"It’s wonderful! Absolutely perfect!"

Bai Wanwan thought she was a genius. She’d only been changing for a moment, but Shi Hua had seen it and was able to recreate it.

And most importantly, her version was beautiful.

The brown animal-hide bra had a wild sort of charm, and Bai Wanwan immediately started pestering her to make a couple for her, too.

"You like it too, Wanwan?" Shi Hua’s eyes lit up.

"Of course. You did such a good job, how could I not like it?"

Shi Hua also had a great sense of aesthetics; the bra she made was unique and beautiful.

"Then I’ll find some good hides later and make a few more for you, Wanwan."

Bai Wanwan didn’t stand on ceremony. Given their close relationship, she knew she would repay Shi Hua’s generosity in kind.

"No need. I have plenty of animal hides, and some are especially nice. I’ll find them, and we can make some for both of us."

As they were excitedly discussing how to make beautiful bras, a noise came from outside.

Shi Hua smiled and put the bra down. "That’s probably Mu Feng returning. I’ll go take a look."

With that, Shi Hua walked out.

Bai Wanwan studied the bra for another moment, then her hands froze. She had a sharp sense that something was wrong.

After Shi Hua went outside, everything seemed to go silent.
