Chapter 208: Chapter 208: Bai Wanwan Flips Out

"Okay."

She agreed at once. The entire night, she’d been mulling over one question: Shi Hua had a gentle personality and had hardly ever offended anyone. Who would take the risk of going after a pregnant female?

The more she thought about it, the more she felt it was likely that whoever targeted Shi Hua was actually targeting her.

She was terribly worried about Shi Hua’s disappearance. For now, she could only comfort herself with the thought that harming a female was a grave mistake, and harming a pregnant female was an even greater one.

’I hope the beastman behind this has some sense and doesn’t do anything rash.’

Bai Wanwan and the three males hurried through the night, quickly arriving near Jin Cang Clan Leader’s residence.

The tribe was silent, and the sound of their footsteps seemed to be magnified infinitely.

"Who’s there?"

Five patrolling beastmen had just rounded the back of a stone house. Seeing Bai Wanwan, Xin Feng, and the others suddenly appear, they immediately issued a wary challenge.

Xin Feng stepped forward and explained their purpose. "We are outsiders staying in the Central Square. We’ve come to disturb the Clan Leader at this hour because something very important has happened..."

Jin Cang Clan Leader had always been a light sleeper. He had already woken up when he heard voices outside.

Worried he might disturb his sleeping wife beside him, he slowly got up and walked outside.

Xin Feng and Yan Lie were still negotiating with the patrolling beastmen, who had yet to allow them to approach the Clan Leader’s residence.

CREAK...

The wooden door was pushed open, and a figure emerged from within.

The moonlight was bright tonight, and Jin Cang immediately spotted Bai Wanwan standing outside.

"Little female, what brings you here so late?"

With his hands clasped behind his back, Jin Cang slowly walked toward them.

Seeing their Clan Leader, the patrolling beastmen finally stepped aside.

Hearing Jin Cang’s voice, Bai Wanwan let out a sigh of relief. "Jin Cang Clan Leader, I apologize for disturbing your rest, but I need your help with an urgent matter."

Jin Cang’s expression was kind, showing no annoyance at being disturbed.

"Little female, please speak. If there’s anything I can do to help, I certainly will."

Bai Wanwan had no time to beat around the bush and immediately explained what had happened.

"My friend wouldn’t fail to return home for no reason. Something is definitely wrong. Too much time has passed, and we’re worried she might be in danger. That’s why I must ask you, Clan Leader, to order a search of the entire tribe."

Had it been any other matter, Jin Cang might have hesitated to rouse the entire Golden Lion Tribe in the middle of the night.

But this concerned a pregnant female—and one who was a good friend of the Holy Female.

He hesitated for only a moment before immediately telling a patrolling male, "Go inform Jin Yue. Have him take some males and search for the female Shi Hua."

"Yes, Clan Leader."

Seeing Bai Wanwan’s pretty little face scrunched up with worry, Jin Cang comforted her, "The female Shi Hua might have just gotten lost. As long as she’s in the Golden Lion Tribe, she won’t be in danger. We’ll have people search, and they’ll definitely find her."

Bai Wanwan hoped so too. For ordinary beastmen, the Golden Lion Tribe was indeed vast.

A beastman with a poor sense of direction who wasn’t familiar with the paths could easily get lost.

Just a few moments after she had spoken with Jin Cang Clan Leader, the beastmen of the Golden Lion Tribe were gradually woken up, and a clamor began to spread everywhere.

Bai Wanwan felt a little indebted to the beastmen who had been disturbed for no reason. ’If they ever need anything in the future, I’ll do my best to repay them.’

But to find Shi Hua, she had to see this through, no matter what.

Who knew the search would take so long? Bai Wanwan paced back and forth countless times, but no beastman returned with good news.

Jin Cang’s expression had also changed slightly, but he still patiently reassured Bai Wanwan.

"Little female, don’t be anxious. The tribe is large; it’s inevitable that some places haven’t been checked yet. Just wait a little longer."

But inwardly, he was starting to worry. Recently, the beast tides in the Ten Thousand Mountains had been surging, making it a very unstable time.

’If that little female named Shi Hua isn’t in the tribe and accidentally wandered into the mountains, this will be trouble.’

He beckoned to a male beside him and whispered something in a low voice.

The male immediately turned and left.

After a long while, Jin Yi appeared before Bai Wanwan and Jin Cang with a team of males.

"Clan Leader, we’ve found no trace of the female Shi Hua anywhere in the tribe."

The moment Jin Yi finished speaking, Bai Wanwan was already in front of him. "You’ve searched everywhere? And you didn’t find Shi Hua?"

Jin Yi’s eyes shifted to her face. He saw that her delicate features seemed to be covered in a layer of frost, and her eyes held a killing intent he had only ever seen in males.

"Yes. We’ve searched everywhere we could. If someone hasn’t deliberately hidden her, then she is not in the tribe."

After hearing his words, Bai Wanwan turned and walked away.

The Clan Leader noticed that Bai Wanwan’s emotions were very unstable and immediately ordered Jin Yi, "Follow her and see what’s going on. Help her however you can."

Jin Yi stared at Bai Wanwan’s departing back, acknowledged the order, and followed with the tribe’s males.

Bai Wanwan walked quickly with her two Beast Husbands and Mu Feng. Behind them, Jin Yi followed at a steady pace.

"Wanwan, where are you going?" Yan Lie asked, turning his head in confusion.

"To find that female named Jin Yuan."

The female who had been the most aggressive that day was named Jin Yuan. Bai Wanwan had made a point of finding this out later.

After all, she was going to be living here for a while; she needed to know her friends and her enemies.

She even knew that Jin Yuan’s home wasn’t very far from hers—just two streets away, on a corner.

Following the information she’d gotten from Hu Yue, Bai Wanwan went straight to Jin Yuan’s front door.

Staring at the closed stone door, her face an icy mask, Bai Wanwan walked up and began to pound on it forcefully.

"Who is it?! Are you ever going to stop? Are you going to let me sleep or not?"

Jin Yuan threw a tantrum inside, then snapped at her Beast Husband, "Go see who it is and get rid of them!"

Not long after she spoke, footsteps approached the door from inside.

The door had just been pulled open a crack when Bai Wanwan kicked it wide open.

The male didn’t have time to react. The door slipped from his hand, slammed hard against the wall, and bounced back.

When he came to his senses, he started cursing and tried to shut the door.

But Yan Lie and Mu Feng were faster. They rushed forward together; one blocked the door while the other restrained the male who was trying to fight back.

Jin Yuan’s other Beast Husbands heard the commotion and came out to investigate. Seeing Yan Lie and Mu Feng engaged in a fight, they charged forward together, only to be easily subdued by Xin Feng.

Hearing her males’ pained cries from inside the house, Jin Yuan immediately shouted, "What’s wrong?"

Just as she finished asking, a figure appeared in her stone house.

From her angle, she could only see a slender silhouette, unable to make out the face backlit by the moonlight.

"Who are you?"

Bai Wanwan didn’t answer, simply stalking closer to her one step at a time.

Terrified by this silent pressure, Jin Yuan instinctively took several steps back.

"Who the hell are you?"

"After drinking dung water for so many days, you still don’t recognize me?" Bai Wanwan’s chilling voice drifted in from the doorway.

"It’s you! Bai Wanwan!" Jin Yuan’s voice suddenly shot up, breaking in pitch.
