Delicate Villainess, Desperate Males – A Beast World Reverse Harem
Chapter 172: He Is Jin Yi
Chapter 172: Chapter 172: He Is Jin Yi
Zhu Xiu tightened his grip on Bai Wanwan’s hand, his tone steady. "The Golden Lion Tribe may be strong, but if we want to leave, they can’t necessarily stop us. If you’re not comfortable here, we’ll leave."
Bai Wanwan had come here for two reasons: one was to ask about the whereabouts of Energy Stones, and the other was because the Black Dog Tribe had provoked the Eagle Beasts, making it an unsuitable place to raise cubs.
If they were going to stay long-term, she definitely wanted to find a comfortable place to live.
Yan Lie also came closer to reassure her. "That’s right. You have three Beast Husbands with Yellow Rank Talents now. Even the Golden Lion Tribe wouldn’t dare to give us trouble easily."
Xin Feng nodded, his tone calm yet thoughtful. "According to the rumors, Jin Cang Clan Leader isn’t an unreasonable Beastman. We can settle here temporarily and observe the situation before making a decision."
After hearing what they said, Bai Wanwan decided not to worry for the time being. The priority was to find out about the Energy Stones.
Soon, the male from the Golden Lion Tribe walking in front stopped. He pointed to a spacious stone house straight ahead and said respectfully to Bai Wanwan, "This residence has two buildings, a front and a back. The front one is larger, with five rooms, while the back one has only two. They’re separated by a courtyard, so it’s perfect for all of you to live together."
Bai Wanwan looked around, completely satisfied.
This way, she and Shi Hua could live together. Separated by a courtyard, they could easily look out for each other while still maintaining their own privacy. It was simply perfect.
She turned and smiled at the male. "Please convey our thanks to Jin Cang Clan Leader."
The male nodded amiably and, seeing that they were satisfied, turned and left.
The surrounding Beastmen cast curious glances their way, pointing and whispering among themselves.
"Wasn’t this stone house supposed to be for the Young Clan Leader to live in after he finds a mate? Could that female be the Young Clan Leader’s Wife?"
"Didn’t you see those males around her? She already has several Beast Husbands. There’s no way the Young Clan Leader would mate with her."
All the Beastmen of the Golden Lion Tribe knew that the Young Clan Leader, Jin Yi, would never share a female with other males.
In fact, many females in the tribe had decided not to accept any other Beast Husbands for his sake, but Jin Yi never showed any interest in them and remained unmated to this day.
******
It was already late when Jin Yi returned to the Golden Lion Tribe.
He was leading his males to see his Father Beast and report on the situation when, passing through the square, he suddenly saw that the door to the long-shuttered stone house ahead was wide open.
His handsome brows knitted slightly as suspicion rose in his heart. ’That stone house has been closed for so long, why is the door open?’
Just as he was about to ask a Beastman beside him to check on the situation, he saw a familiar female walk out from inside—it was the very same female he had seen at the market.
’Her?’
Jin Yi was slightly surprised.
He remembered she had several powerful males with her. So they had come to the Golden Lion Tribe as well.
’But why would his Father Beast give this stone house to outsiders to live in?’
Bai Wanwan was putting down a wooden stool when she suddenly felt a gaze fall upon her.
She set down the stool, straightened up, and followed her intuition, looking straight ahead.
In the twilight, a handsome male stood there.
His features were as if painted, without a single flaw. It was as if every minute detail had been meticulously calculated to achieve perfect beauty.
Even though Bai Wanwan was used to the good looks of her own Beast Husbands, she couldn’t help but be stunned by this male’s appearance.
He had a noble air about him, and standing among a line of males, he made the others seem dim and lackluster in comparison.
His familiar-looking eyes and brows bore some resemblance to Jin Cang Clan Leader’s, only he was younger and more handsome.
The male’s appearance immediately clicked with an image in her mind, and she instantly knew who he was—the Golden Lion Young Clan Leader, Jin Yi.
Jin Yi noticed her gaze, gave a slight nod, and then turned to leave.
Bai Wanwan’s appreciation for him was purely aesthetic. Once he was out of sight, she withdrew her gaze and put him out of her mind.
Jin Yi hadn’t gone far before a strange male blocked his path.
"Are you... the Young Clan Leader, Jin Yi?"
Lu Da stared at Jin Yi, his eyes filled with a complex emotion, his tone probing.
Jin Yi stopped and looked at the unfamiliar male before him.
"Yes. Is there something you need?"
Lu Da stared at him and said bluntly, "I am Zhuo Ling’s Beast Husband, Lu Da. Zhuo Ling... she’s here in the Golden Lion Tribe. She... wants to see you."
Hearing Zhuo Ling’s name, Jin Yi was taken aback for a moment. "Zhuo Ling? Why is she here?"
Lu Da explained, "The Black Dog Tribe was attacked by Eagle Beasts and suffered heavy casualties. So, we came to the Golden Lion Tribe with the males you sent, hoping to settle here."
Jin Yi was silent for a moment, his gaze sizing the other male up once more. "You’re her Beast Husband?"
Lu Da straightened his back, meeting Jin Yi’s gaze without showing any weakness. "That’s right. I am her Beast Husband."
Jin Yi nodded, his tone calm. "I see."
With that, he turned to leave.
Lu Da was a little surprised and couldn’t help but ask, "Aren’t you going to see her?"
Jin Yi replied without turning back, "Mhm. I have other things to do."
His figure quickly disappeared into the twilight, leaving Lu Da standing alone.
This was the male he feared most. If Jin Yi had nodded his head, he would have undoubtedly become Zhuo Ling’s first Beast Husband.
Zhuo Ling waited at home for a long time before Lu Da finally returned. She rushed forward eagerly, her gaze sweeping behind him several times, but she never saw the familiar figure she was looking for.
"Lu Da, where is he? Didn’t Jin Yi come with you?" Zhuo Ling’s voice was laced with urgency.
Lu Da grunted in acknowledgement, his tone flat. "He’s busy."
Zhuo Ling’s heart sank. She couldn’t stop herself from pressing, "Did you tell him I was here?"
Lu Da glanced at her and nodded. "I told him everything you asked me to, but he didn’t care."
Hearing this, Zhuo Ling felt as if a heavy stone was pressing down on her heart, making it hard to breathe.
She had thought that when Jin Yi heard she had arrived, he would rush to see her without hesitation, just like he used to. But now, he wouldn’t even spare her a glance. ’Has he really moved on?’
"What did he say?" Zhuo Ling bit her lip.
When they were young, Jin Yi only had eyes for her. His smiles, his gentleness—it was all for her alone.
But now, even knowing she was right here, he was unwilling to say a single extra word, showing no intention of even seeing her.
Lu Da shook his head. He knew his words would make his Wife sad, which was just fine—it meant he wouldn’t have to be a member of this family.
"He just said he understood and then turned and left."
"I don’t believe you!" Zhuo Ling’s voice was sharp with anxiety, though it was unclear if she was trying to reassure herself or refute him.
She couldn’t accept the possibility that Jin Yi no longer liked her.
In her heart, even if Jin Yi wasn’t her Beast Husband now, he would be sooner or later.
"I’ll go find him."
Zhuo Ling shot to her feet. If he wouldn’t come to her, then she would go to him. She refused to believe she couldn’t win back Jin Yi’s heart.
Back then, she had managed to orchestrate his rescue, conquer his heart step by step, and make him fall for her. She could definitely do it again!
