Chapter 129: Chapter 129: I Don’t Want It

"Host, Host, wake up! If you don’t wake up, those 10,000 Points will be wasted..."

The mention of wasted Points was enough to jolt Bai Wanwan awake.

Zhu Xiu was holding her head, tilting her chin up.

Xin Feng’s handsome face was right in front of her, the first thing she saw when she opened her eyes.

He held a spoon, about to feed her.

"What is this?"

Bai Wanwan stared at the bowl of oily green concoction and gagged.

The two males didn’t have time to answer, both sighing in relief when they saw she was awake.

"Wanwan, are you still in pain?" Xin Feng didn’t press her to drink, concerned about her condition first.

"I’m much better. What are you two doing?"

Zhu Xiu’s voice came from beside her ear. "You fainted just now. This is the medicinal brew the Clan Witch prepared for you. Be good and drink it."

’Drink it? How could I?’

The green liquid looked like a puddle of polluted algae and gave off a suffocating, rank odor.

’It’s sticky, too, reminding me of snot. Ugh...’

"Host, you absolutely can’t drink that! It’s a potion Beastmen use for abortions. If you drink it, your entire litter of snake cubs will be gone."

The system intervened urgently. The two Mutated Snake Beast cubs in its host’s belly were treasures!

’You don’t have to worry,’ she thought. ’Even if this stuff could add ten years to my life, I wouldn’t drink it.’

The males beside her mistook her daze for lingering weakness and poor health.

Zhu Xiu, unaware that Bai Wanwan already knew the liquid’s purpose, brought the bowl to her lips. "Drink this, and the pain will go away."

Bai Wanwan turned her head to look at him but didn’t refuse outright, because there was still an unfamiliar female in the stone house.

From the woman’s attire, she knew it was the Clan Witch of the Black Dog Tribe.

She smiled at Zhu Xiu. "I just woke up and I’m still a little dizzy. I won’t drink it just yet."

Then, she turned to the Clan Witch. "Thank you for making the trip, Clan Witch. I feel quite alright now. Xin Feng, why don’t you escort the Clan Witch home?"

Having spent the most time with Bai Wanwan, Xin Feng faintly sensed that she had another reason for sending the Clan Witch away.

"Alright. Zhu Xiu will stay with you. I’ll take the Clan Witch home first."

With that, he turned to the Clan Witch and gestured for her to go ahead. "I’ll see you home."

The Clan Witch nodded, instructing Bai Wanwan before she left:

"Female, you must drink the potion. If you feel any discomfort after drinking it, have your Beast Husband come and find me immediately."

"Okay, thank you, Clan Witch."

Only then did the Clan Witch leave, mollified. Xin Feng escorted her, carrying some prey as a gift.

The moment the Clan Witch and Xin Feng were gone, Zhu Xiu—without asking why she had sent the witch away—picked up the bowl again, stubbornly intent on making her drink the potion.

Bai Wanwan’s gaze swept over the bowl in his hands. "You want me to drink this that badly?"

His hand, holding the bowl of medicine, paused by her lips. "The Clan Witch said you’re unwell. You’ll only recover your health if you drink this."

Unlike other males, he had never been particularly fixated on having offspring.

He was only willing to have children because his partner was Bai Wanwan.

But if the existence of those children threatened Wanwan’s life, he would rather not have them at all.

"I won’t drink it." Bai Wanwan turned her head away, her pretty face turning pale with disgust.

Zhu Xiu sighed. "Be good. Drink it, and I’ll make you some candied fruit later."

’Does he think some candied fruit is enough to make me give up my own cubs?’

’Does Zhu Xiu think cubs are so cheap?’

With a solemn expression, Bai Wanwan took the bowl of potion from his hands. Just as Zhu Xiu thought she was about to drink it, she poured it directly into a nearby stone basin.

"Wanwan!" Zhu Xiu’s voice suddenly rose, but he was too late to stop her.

He took a deep breath and continued, "You have to drink the potion in your condition. Pouring it out is useless. I’ll go get the Clan Witch right now."

He was as good as his word, standing up to leave immediately.

He had only taken a single step before Bai Wanwan grabbed his hand.

"Don’t go. I’m fine, don’t worry."

Zhu Xiu frowned. He didn’t want her to know about the Mutated Snake Beast cubs devouring each other.

This potion was non-negotiable.

"Wanwan, even if you feel fine, you have to drink the potion. Only then will Xin Feng and I be at ease."

As they were locked in a stalemate, Xin Feng returned from escorting the Clan Witch.

He saw one of them standing and the other sitting, with Bai Wanwan holding Zhu Xiu’s hand. Their expressions were strange.

"What’s wrong?"

"Xin Feng, come over here."

She raised her other hand and beckoned to him.

Xin Feng acknowledged her, lifting the hem of his beast-hide robe to sit on the edge of the stone bed. His voice was as gentle as ever. "Did you send the Clan Witch away because you didn’t want to drink the medicine?"

Bai Wanwan didn’t deny it. "Mhm. I can’t drink this medicine."

Zhu Xiu frowned and was about to speak when Bai Wanwan shushed him. "Let me finish first."

In the end, Zhu Xiu restrained himself and nodded. "Go on."

"I’m not drinking the medicine, but there won’t be any problems with my body. You can both rest assured."

’Rest assured?’

’How could he rest assured? He himself was a Mutated Snake Beast who had devoured his own siblings and been despised by his Mother and Father Beast for it.’

He didn’t want Wanwan to face any risks, nor did he want to see the cubs kill one another.

He closed his eyes, his voice strained. "Wanwan, if you won’t drink this potion yourself, I will force you to."

"They’re your own cubs. Do you have the heart?"

Bai Wanwan’s words instantly shattered the two males’ carefully constructed pretense.

"Wanwan, you know?" Xin Feng was the first to question her, his eyes wide with astonishment.

Zhu Xiu also stared directly at her. "You know?"

Bai Wanwan understood his pain. A smile touched her lips. "Mhm. I want to give birth to a few impressive snake cubs, just like you. Wouldn’t that be wonderful?"

"Wanwan!"

Zhu Xiu’s heart trembled, but he still clenched his jaw and said heartlessly, "I don’t want them. You know Snake Beasts are the most cold-blooded and ruthless creatures. I don’t like cubs, and I don’t want them stealing your affection."

Bai Wanwan was taken aback. ’If he were truly so cold-blooded and ruthless, would he be trying to make me drink this potion?’

She reached out, took his hand, and squeezed it gently. "Come sit. I’ll explain it to you slowly."

She knew that no matter how much she insisted she was fine and told them not to worry, the two males wouldn’t believe her.

Zhu Xiu, in particular, would definitely try to find a way to make her drink the potion.

Xin Feng also tried to persuade him. "Zhu Xiu, let’s hear what Wanwan has to say first."

Zhu Xiu looked at Bai Wanwan’s face and sat down beside her. "Speak."

"You know I’m not an ordinary female. In fact, I’m not even an ordinary Holy Female."

Bai Wanwan began her cryptic explanation. The two males didn’t ask questions, simply waiting for her to continue.

"It’s just that... if this litter of snake cubs were in another female’s belly, she might not be able to carry them to term. It might even endanger the mother’s life. But I won’t be."

The two males glanced at each other, as if asking if the other had just told Wanwan the truth.

"You don’t have to look at each other. Neither of you told me secretly. I know my own body’s condition."

"Wanwan, you really know? The Clan Witch said you’re carrying Mutated Snake Beast cubs. If we don’t deal with them in time, your life will be in danger. You know that neither I nor Zhu Xiu want anything to happen to you."
