She looked back at Zhu Xiu before leaving and said, "We’ll talk more about this later."

’It would give her time to think about how to explain things to Zhu Xiu.’

They left right then and there, without her going back to say anything to Zhu Xiu.

Zhu Xiu sensed his little female walking farther and farther away, and his gaze followed her without wavering.

Bai Wanwan didn’t go out of his line of sight, choosing to stroll around nearby.

’She knew perfectly well that if she wandered somewhere he couldn’t see, Zhu Xiu would definitely come to check on her safety.’

"You’ve been glowing these last couple of days. Mu Feng must be treating you well, right?"

Bai Wanwan gave her a playful nudge. Seeing Shi Hua’s shy smile, she couldn’t help but think, ’Not long ago, she was such a poor, pitiful thing. Having someone who dotes on you really changes everything!’

Shi Hua was actually more delicate-looking than most of the coarse, boorish females. With her docile nature and serene temperament, she stood out from the others.

After just a few days, her cheeks had grown rosy, and her eyes sparkled with bright joy, making her even more beautiful.

"Mhm, he’s very good to me. I just don’t know if I can give him a litter of cubs."

Shi Hua rubbed her stomach apprehensively. Mu Feng had been trying so hard. If she couldn’t get pregnant, it must be because her own body wasn’t up to the task.

Bai Wanwan smiled. "Don’t worry. Go see the Clan Witch in a few days. I guarantee you’ll give him a litter of big, healthy cubs."

Shi Hua’s eyes lit up at Bai Wanwan’s words, brimming with hope.

As the two were talking, a group of females approached from ahead. They were carrying baskets filled with various flowers and grasses, for some unknown purpose.

Just then, Mu Zhi’s arm grew sore. She set her basket on the ground, and the moment she saw Shi Hua, she pointed right at her without a second thought. "Shi Hua, get over here and carry this back for me."

Seeing this, the females next to her also put down their baskets and stopped to catch their breath. "Shi Hua, after you carry Mu Zhi’s, you can carry mine too."

Out of habit, Shi Hua murmured, "Oh," and started to step forward to help.

She had barely taken a step before Bai Wanwan grabbed her by the hand.

"They have hands and feet of their own. Let them carry it themselves."

’To put it nicely, Shi Hua’s personality lacked an edge. To put it bluntly, she was a total pushover, letting anyone walk all over her.’

’Her bullies wouldn’t be grateful for her help; they’d just see her as an even easier target.’

Mu Shan, Mu Zhi, and the other females sat resting by the road. They watched as Bai Wanwan held Shi Hua back, and grew impatient when she didn’t come over.

Mu Shan grew angry. So what if they couldn’t do anything to Bai Wanwan? They could still deal with Shi Hua, couldn’t they?

’So what if Shi Hua had a Beast Husband now? It’s just one Beast Husband.’

"Shi Hua, what are you gaping at? Get over here and help us!"

Shi Hua hesitated. She didn’t really want to, but she was so used to being bullied that her first instinct was to just give in to avoid making things worse—and to avoid dragging anyone else into it.

Sensing Shi Hua’s conflicted hesitation, Bai Wanwan released her hand and simply asked, "Do you want to help them?"

Shi Hua bit her lip, momentarily at a loss for how to answer.

Bai Wanwan patted her on the shoulder. "If you truly want to help, then go ahead. But if you don’t, no one can force you. Don’t forget, you have a Beast Husband now—a Green Rank male, no less. And you have me, your friend. If you don’t want to do it, you have every right to refuse."

Her words were like a shot of courage to Shi Hua’s heart. The desire to resist, something she’d never truly felt before, surged to a peak.

She blurted out, "Sister, I don’t want to."

Bai Wanwan nodded, gratified. "Then tell them that. Loudly."

Mu Shan and her group were some distance away, and with all the females chattering amongst themselves, they couldn’t make out what Bai Wanwan and Shi Hua were saying.

They just saw that Shi Hua still hadn’t moved and began to shout arrogantly.

"Shi Hua, are you coming over or not?!"

"Tell them. Loud and clear. Tell them to carry it themselves."

"Okay!"

Shi Hua turned to face Mu Shan, Mu Zhi, and the other females, her shoulders trembling faintly.

She opened her mouth, then closed it again. She did this several times, but Bai Wanwan didn’t rush her.

"I’m not carrying them. You can carry them yourselves."

She practically screamed the words, stunning the dozens of females across from them into silence.

Then, Mu Shan started laughing. "She says she won’t carry them."

"Think you’re special now that you’ve got some Foreign Beastman backing you up? Bai Wanwan and her Beast Husband will leave eventually, but you’re stuck in the Black Dog Tribe for life."

"Don’t make us angry. Be a good girl and come carry our things."

Bai Wanwan encouraged her from the side, "Don’t be afraid! Mu Feng won’t let you be bullied."
