Chapter 50: Multipliying Boss Rewards x10,000!

Riven walked calmly toward the dropped item. Even with Daniela still unconscious nearby, the girl’s high Luck continued to bless him without fail.

It was originally a ring that granted the simple ability to mute a single target for ten seconds. That short silence could cause confusion and, if the target was a magician, leave them completely exposed and vulnerable.

But its evolved form, strengthened through Mammon’s Authority, now granted him a power similar to the boss itself. It allowed him to create a Domain of Silence lasting a full minute within any assigned area.

Inside this Domain not only was everything completely Silenced, but the user remained entirely unaffected by the effect.

With this ring, most magic could be shut down instantly unless it was innate magic or born from a skill that could be activated without shouting its name aloud.

"This Ring can silence everything in an area?" Daniela wondered once she regained consciousness and examined it. "Wow... it seems really dangerous."

"It is," Riven smiled. "And it’ll be useful too for what’s still to come."

As they remained staring at the boss’s corpse, heavy footsteps began to echo from farther down the tunnels.

A large quantity of monsters had been drawn by the strong smell of blood. Daniela did not even need to activate her Clowny Charm Skill anymore.

"So many!" she panicked. "Can we even fight in these conditions?"

"Of course," he said calmly, tapping the new ring on his finger. "Domain of Silence."

TRUUUM!

Suddenly every monster felt deep confusion as the entire area went completely mute. They became heavily disoriented, especially because in these dark caves most of them relied on their hearing to move. Many of the creatures were entirely blind.

While they stumbled around in sudden disorientation, Riven touched the ground. A thick layer of ice rapidly spread outward from him at the same time as he infused that ice with his poisonous ki.

The ice erupted violently beneath the monsters. Giant icicles surged upward, impaling them one by one. The remaining creatures ended up sliding helplessly toward him as Riven formed clever elevations in the ice, similar to the strategy he had used on the first floor.

"Uwaaahhh!"

Daniela panicked and quickly hid behind him as Riven greeted every incoming monster with a sharp and quick death. Icicles impaled them and froze them solid within mere seconds. Eruptions of poisonous gas also surged from under the ice, poisoning and weakening anyone who tried to escape.

More Myconids, Assassin Panthers, and several new monsters appeared only to die instantly under his carefully prepared trap. Mithril Claws, mole-like monsters, were unable to dig away safely before they froze solid. Cave Raptors, blind Velociraptor-like monsters that hunted in groups through the caves, met their end against the spreading poison. Vampiric Bats fell from the ceiling, slowly freezing as they inhaled the poison without realizing the danger. Lastly, large Obsidian Turtles with giant mushrooms growing on their shells slowly froze to death where they stood.

"It’s done."

Before Daniela could fully make sense of what had just happened, a frozen graveyard of over a hundred monsters lay before her eyes.

Her powers activated once more like a lucky charm. Dozens of glowing items appeared one after another, creating even more valuable loot.

"T-This is so cool... wait! We’re done already?"

"Yeah, we’re done with Floor 2, and as I hoped, we finished under three hours. Now we can take a short break and prepare properly for Floor 3 before we go back home for dinner."

"Nice!"

Daniela rejoiced and quickly helped Riven gather all the corpses, storing them inside their storage items.

After about ten minutes of steady work, Riven placed everything he planned to eat right away while also checking his growth so far.

After gaining Fenrir’s Authority he had also received a second Class called Beast. This Class had been continuously growing and leveling up in silence the entire time.

"Impressive, so one thousand stats per level?" Riven wondered aloud. "Hm, though it’s bound to fall off eventually compared to Gluttony’s growth, it’s still nice that I can put the experience points I gain to good use... Anyway, the skill itself is solid. It’ll synergize well with my combat style." He nodded in satisfaction.

He quickly set up a small cottage in the clean area once he finished organizing everything. He also placed thick ice walls around them for protection against any incoming predators. Both he and Daniela, and of course Little Noir who was currently gnawing happily at an Assassin Panther’s leg, decided to finally have a proper meal.

"Riven, are you sure you shouldn’t cook those meals you always eat?" Daniela asked, clearly worried about him getting stomachaches from raw monster meat.

"I want to cook them, but... at the same time it’s better to eat everything raw and quickly for maximum absorption," Riven explained. "Besides, with this skill I can do it without any worry. I’ll also eat the lunch I prepared back home. Elisa baked some fresh bread yesterday too."

"Hm! It’s so tasty and flaky!" said Daniela while eating the bread along with the mildly spicy monster meat curry, fluffy white rice, and a few other side dishes that Riven had prepared earlier. "It goes really well with this."

"Well, I’m glad you’re enjoying it," Riven smiled. At the same time he watched his aura divide into dozens of hungry jaws that began picking apart and eating the entire corpses of the Whispering Scream, the Muscular Voracious Myconid, the Gluttonous Myconid, the largest Vampiric Bat, the oldest Obsidian Turtle, several Mithril Claws, and multiple Cave Raptors.

It was time to power up once more.
