Chapter 179: Taking A Bath With Wifey

At the end of the night the girls had eaten so much cake that half of it was already gone in a single evening! Riven was not sure if any of it would even last past tomorrow. Feeling happy and relieved, Elisa leaned closer and whispered to him while blushing lightly, "Let’s go take a bath together before sleep..."

Riven smiled gently and nodded. "Sure," he answered, noticing how sleepy she already looked. The tired expression only made her even cuter in his eyes. He kissed her forehead softly and caressed her hands before carefully bringing her toward the bathroom.

As they moved down the hallway, Riven suddenly remembered the pile of dirty dishes. "Ah, maybe I should wash them before anything else..."

However, Daniela was already in the kitchen with Label.

"I’ll wash the dishes with Label, Riven, so don’t worry!" Daniela called out cheerfully.

"Oh, okay, got it. Thank you, Daniela," Riven nodded in gratitude before checking on everyone else.

After watching Riven leave, Daniela smiled and gently bumped her elbow against Label’s side. She spoke with a cute, excited smile. "So, what boy bands do you like? I love K-Pop, especially Dokaebi Hunters!"

Label’s eyes widened for a moment. Daniela was certainly a talkative girl — almost overwhelming in her energy. "I-I’ve never heard of those..." Label admitted quietly. "I don’t really... listen to much modern stuff... but... I could give it a try?"

"Sure!" Daniela immediately tapped her phone and showed her an incredibly corny yet catchy modern song. The screen displayed a group of incredibly handsome young Korean men dancing in flashy costumes under bright lights.

"Ooohhhh!" Label experienced boy bands for the very first time and became instantly obsessed. She was captivated by how handsome and flirty they looked, and their dancing and singing voices were surprisingly good. "Ooh... Ooohhho? Ouuooogh!" She made a series of strange, delighted sounds while Daniela chuckled at her honest reaction.

Riven nodded to himself as he noticed how the two girls of similar age were connecting just fine. Meanwhile, young Carlos was playing with the three retainers, asking them endless questions about ninjutsu and even declaring that he wanted to learn from them. The ninjas chuckled softly at how cute and innocent the boy was.

Outside the house, Vladimir and Kagehisa were already acting like rivals. They stood glaring at one another as if they wanted nothing more than to choke each other’s throats.

"So you’re a bastard from the Fenrir Cult, huh? Hah! To think Riven beat the crap out of you and made you his slave. God, you’re pathetic!" Kagehisa roared provocatively.

"Tsk, and who are you to say that when you were also beaten and enslaved?! At least I died fighting, and only thanks to my lord’s grace was I revived!" Vladimir roared, his crimson aura surging in the form of a howling wolf.

"Your dog god revived you? Hahahaha! Nobody is going to believe that dumb story!" Kagehisa laughed at the ridiculous story.

"HAH?! You dare insult his divine might?! You’re dead meat!" Vladimir clenched his teeth with fury.

"Hoh? Come at me then, dog worshipper," Kagehisa smiled viciously.

CLAAASH!

Their blades suddenly clashed outside with sharp metallic rings. Riven sighed heavily, walked to the door, and told them not to be so loud. "Don’t be so damn loud! And don’t kill each other." He closed the door afterward without truly ordering them to stop if they wanted to fight all night... which they clearly did.

"Sorry about that," Riven said as he closed the bathroom door behind them.

He carefully helped Elisa get undressed, then undressed himself and entered the large jacuzzi-like bathtub with her. While helping her wash her hair, they talked quietly about his long and exhausting day. Riven did not really want to tell her every detail about who he had fought or about Genesis... yet he still explained what had happened in more depth than usual.

"So you did all of that for the sake of that poor girl," Elisa sighed softly. "You took down several factories where they were making illegal drugs, rescued the kidnapped people, and then infiltrated their base and even a spiritual realm?! Oh my god, Riven, your life was in danger so many times! How didn’t you consider for a single second how dangerous all of that could have been?"

"I know it was dangerous," Riven nodded honestly. "But I knew I couldn’t just let them continue... I’m sorry if it sounded reckless or... wrong. I know that murder is wrong... I killed people, and I won’t hide that from you, but..."

"They were human traffickers. There’s nothing for you to apologize for," Elisa sighed firmly. "I mostly worry about your own life. I couldn’t care less about a bunch of lowlives dying. I’m glad you took them all down. Good riddance."

Riven was taken aback. That was certainly an aspect of Elisa he had not fully known before. She seemed to share his view about those terrible people who abused their power and hurt, kidnapped, or did even more horrible things to innocents. "You saved over sixty people. You did well. You’re a hero. Thank you, really... I could never have brought myself to even ask you to do something like this. It really just came from you, huh?"

"Yeah..." Riven nodded quietly. "When you still had your powers, did you ever...?"

"I often took down small groups or organized crime on my free time whenever I had some solid leads," Elisa answered with a small nod. "This was something my family disliked, though... My grandmother, the one who’s really in charge of Frostbane Holdings, eventually learned about my little escapades and how they could hurt the family reputation. She threatened to disown me completely if I didn’t stop... and so I stopped. But well, none of that matters now, seeing how I’m all crippled here and unable to do anything on my own."

"Your grandmother..." Riven whispered thoughtfully. "I remember her a little from back then."
