Kagehisa and his retainers all watched in complete awe as Riven started to consume every prey he had slain himself — at least those he believed could grant him some type of useful power. Of course, he never consumed pure humans. He felt no "hunger" toward them at all. However, whenever those humans had turned themselves into beasts or monsters, his Gluttony immediately hungered for their power. Because of that, it seemed he was allowed to eat them without any moral or practical worry.

One important rule he had discovered earlier was that eating more than one of the exact same type of creature would not grant him any additional power. Subspecies, however, did seem to work to a limited extent, though they always provided fewer stats than a completely new type. With that knowledge firmly in mind, Riven proceeded to consume every available Yokaified Yakuza that was not a species he had already eaten before. He also consumed the three Yokai Kings and the residual cores left behind by Ryujin’s Spectral Spirit Avatar.

"Wow, his Aura is eating for him?" Hinata wondered aloud, her eyes wide. "This is the first time I have ever seen such a strange power."

"Is it some kind of Spiritual Art? Is he embodying his own Aura into actual jaws?" Goki asked in growing disbelief. "W-Woah, this is really freaky, man..."

"..." Ren remained the only one who did not look horrified. He simply watched the entire process with silent, focused curiosity.

"Hah, is this the true source of your ridiculous power and all those crazy skills you’ve collected, Riven?" Kagehisa asked with a sharp sneer. "What kind of Class even allows something like this?"

"First Rule," Riven spoke without looking up. "Don’t interrupt me while I’m eating."

In that exact moment, Kagehisa and his three ninjas all felt an invisible pressure force them to step farther aside so they could give him more space to consume the many corpses scattered around him. Some of the bodies were more mangled than others, but in the face of the Authority of Gluttony they were all the same.

Beelzebub might be a picky eater who disliked consuming the exact same thing twice, yet he never minded how the food itself was presented — as long as it was something "new" and "exciting."
