Chapter 2668: Chapter 2672: Worse Than Animals

Xiao Shumiao ran in front of Gu Junzhu and Ye Xingbei, grabbing Gu Junzhu with one hand and Ye Xingbei with the other. "Dad, Mom, we have to protect Brother Xiaoqi. We can’t let his parents dig out his heart. If his parents take Brother Xiaoqi’s heart, he will die!"

Ye Xingbei: "..."

She looked at Huo Zhongqi: "Is that true?"

"Yes, it is," Huo Zhongqi nodded, speaking softly: "More than half a year ago, my uncle’s cousin got very sick. My grandfather was very worried and asked all the children in our family to go to the hospital for thorough examinations."

"During that examination, the doctors discovered that I am not my mother’s biological son."

"After my mother found out that I wasn’t her biological son, she sent many people to find her biological child."

"Later, they found her biological child."

"But her biological child had severe heart disease and needed a heart transplant to survive."

Ye Xingbei was shocked: "Your parents want to take your heart and give it to their biological son?"

Huo Zhongqi nodded: "Yes, that’s right."

Gu Junzhu sat Xiao Shumiao next to him and played with Xiao Shumiao’s small hand while asking Huo Zhongqi: "How did you find out?"

"Because after my parents’ biological child was found, my dad would often stare at me blankly," Huo Zhongqi said. "At first, I thought he was worried about his biological son’s illness. Later, I noticed the complex look in my dad’s eyes. He then took me to the hospital for a check-up, and I had many tests done."

"Even though my grandfather had already asked the doctors to do a thorough examination, my dad took me to the hospital again for even more detailed tests."

"After the examinations at the hospital, a few days later, I was almost run over by my father..."

"Almost run over by your father?" Ye Xingbei was on the edge of her seat.

"Yes," Huo Zhongqi spoke slowly and softly: "My grandfather liked me a lot and hired many teachers for me when I was five, including martial arts instructors. When my dad’s car came toward me, I jumped onto the car’s hood and over the vehicle as it crashed into a tree, narrowly escaping."

"Afterwards, my dad apologized, saying he was too worried about my brother’s health, was not focused, and mistakenly hit the accelerator instead of the brake, which almost caused the accident..."

Ye Xingbei asked him: "Who is your brother?"

Huo Zhongqi said: "He is my parents’ biological child; he is the real Huo Zhongqi, but since I’ve been using the name Huo Zhongqi, my parents gave him the name Huo Zhonglin."

"He’s had a heart condition since childhood, so he grew weak and shorter than me. My parents told me to call him brother and to help take care of him."

"I understand," Ye Xingbei nodded, asking: "What happened next?"

"Later, I had two more accidents, both life-threatening, and I realized something was wrong. I found an excuse to borrow my dad’s phone and looked through his search history," Huo Zhongqi said. "I found searches on how to cause brain death and many details about heart transplants."
