Chapter 2643: Chapter 2647: Just Trying to Annoy Her on Purpose

Lou Ning glanced at Jee Zhenyu, nodded apologetically, "I’m sorry... boss..."

"No, you haven’t let me down," Ye Xingbei chuckled, "The one you’ve let down is yourself."

Lou Ning looked at Ye Xingbei, confused.

Ye Xingbei chuckled, looked at him and said, "You’ve broken faith and impaired your character, betrayed your conscience. I haven’t lost anything; I can instantly get the penalty fee. It doesn’t matter to me."

Lou Ning’s face turned pale all at once, and he lowered his head deeply.

Jee Zhenyu held back a belly full of words, wanting to retaliate against Ye Xingbei.

She was discomfited.

She wanted to say that Ye Xingbei originally used favors to coerce, signing a lopsided contract. Lou Ning’s desire to terminate his contract is a legitimate request, and he hasn’t wronged anyone.

But when she thought of the possibility that they might lose another hundred million, she held back, face flushed, wanting to spew blood, but she dared not speak.

Ye Xingbei ignored Jee Zhenyu, who was red in the face as if about to bleed, took a sip of juice, and looked leisurely at Lou Ning, "Since you plan to sign with the Jee Group after terminating your contract, then naturally, Jee Group has to pay the five hundred million penalty fee; you don’t owe me."

Lou Ning glanced at Jee Zhenyu, then back at Ye Xingbei, "Boss, this matter has nothing to do with Zhenyu; I don’t want to make things difficult for her. Please, boss, be accommodating. I swear, once I have the money, I will definitely repay you. I’m willing to pay interest."

"You don’t want Miss Jee to be in a tough spot, so you’re putting me in one?" Ye Xingbei raised an eyebrow at him, "Lou Ning, I’m doing business here, not charity. I have more than one artist under me. If today you come asking to terminate your contract, and tomorrow someone else does, without paying the penalty, giving me empty promises, how am I supposed to run my business?"

Lou Ning was tongue-tied, unable to speak.

"Moreover," Ye Xingbei continued, "You were supposed to pay me a billion as a penalty to terminate your contract with my studio, but now I’m only asking for five hundred million. Don’t you think I’ve already shown enough kindness? Yet you still want to take advantage, not paying, giving me empty promises? Don’t you think you’re being excessive?"

Lou Ning’s face reddened with shame, unable to utter another word.

"Miss Jee," Ye Xingbei turned to Jee Zhenyu, "Your Jee Group is wealthy; surely you’re not unable to come up with five hundred million to poach one of my talents, right?"

"No, it’s not," Lou Ning hurriedly interjected on Jee Zhenyu’s behalf, "It’s not that Jee Group wants to poach me; it’s that I want to marry Zhenyu. Hence, I must terminate the contract with you, boss. After all, Zhenyu is the second Miss of Jee Group, and if she marries an artist from another studio, it’s quite improper to talk about."

Ye Xingbei chuckled, ignored him, then looked at Jee Zhenyu, "Miss Jee, transfer the five hundred million to my account within a day starting now, and I’ll immediately sign the termination papers with Lou Ning. For every twenty-four hours you exceed, the penalty increases by a hundred million. Miss Jee, I want to have a private chat with Lou Ning, so you can start arranging the funds."

Jee Zhenyu was so angry she almost fainted.

She wanted to slam the table and point at Ye Xingbei’s nose, questioning if she had gone mad with greed.

Asking their company to gather five hundred million in cash within a day, with an additional hundred million penalty for every extra day—wasn’t this deliberately making things difficult?

Her mind was furiously jumping three feet high in anger, but in reality, she stubbornly sat in her seat, not daring to move.
