Death Notice
Book 9: Chapter 43: S-Class War Mech
The six thousand Mobile Crusaders came from all over Europe. Most of them were ordinary people before joining the Vatican. It had been over a hundred years since the Space-Time Rift appeared. Many sleeping magical creatures and super-tech structures emerged around the world. But since most of these appeared in remote places, and local governments blocked information, ordinary people did not know much about them.
These ordinary people, affected by the Magic Law, showed signs of physical evolution. When they noticed their own enhancements, most went through stages of shock, seeking proof, hiding it, and finally seeking help.
But most of them were in the early stages of physical enhancement. Even if they went to hospitals for proof, they would not get clear answers. As their symptoms worsened, they would inevitably seek help from family and the outside world.
Modern society has complete legal systems and widespread knowledge. Most people received a good education. They could easily realize that the changes happening to them involved public safety. So the best place to seek help was obviously not government departments, but local churches.
Because of this, the Vatican managed to gather such a large enhanced knight order. After these ordinary people turned enhanced beings experienced this great change and received information about magical creatures and super-tech structures from the Vatican, whether they had strong faith before or not, they often became fanatics.
With their physical fitness, plus several years of military training and teachings from the Ascetic Monks of the Church, most became qualified enhanced warriors.
Six thousand people scattered across Greater London’s 1,500 square kilometers seemed insignificant. But they were all enhanced. Even if their strength was less than Superhumans, a ten-person squad could control a large area.
This number basically covered the entire Greater London area. So after the Crusaders landed, London’s military police and fire systems quickly collapsed. Communication networks were interrupted by electromagnetic interference. Fires caused by the fighting spread throughout the city. Streets and alleys were full of people looking for shelters. Panic and chaos descended into an irreversible abyss.
However, after Alucard released the River of Death, the Mobile Crusaders in North London also suffered heavy losses. Combined with the continued resistance of the remaining British military police, current losses had exceeded one-third of the total.
“Tony, can you contact the enhanced mercenary team we brought?” Captain America looked up and shouted loudly at Iron Man hovering in the air.“I can’t. The Crusaders used large-scale electromagnetic interference. Also, the last time I contacted them, some told me there were traitors in the mercenary team. They are busy dealing with their own problems.” Iron Man shrugged noncommittally.
“Damn it, I knew it! Every time S.H.I.E.L.D. recruits mercenaries, there are problems!” Captain America sighed helplessly. “Alright, now we can only rely on the four of us. Tony, you and Hulk go to the right street. I and… Hey, where is Dr. Robert?”
“Found him! Leo is in the south, that’s… the direction of HELLSING headquarters!” Iron Man scanned the area from the air and quickly spotted the giant man running swiftly among the buildings. He exclaimed in surprise, “Why is he going there?”
Captain America’s eyes flashed as he recalled the recent River of Death riot. “Could it be that Miss Integra is in trouble? That vampire’s undead army showed some rationality at the start of the battle…”
“Could it be the Nazis causing trouble, like your old friend from World War II! Gert… what was his name?” Iron Man crossed his arms and joked.
“Gerthard Heinrich? Possibly!” Captain America frowned deeply.
“Should Hulk go find the White Giant!” The Incredible Hulk hammered his palms together and said worriedly.
“No need. Even if the Nazis really attacked HELLSING headquarters, judging by Alucard’s reaction, they probably succeeded already. They wouldn’t be foolish enough to stay there. Besides…” Steve Rogers glanced at the gathered Undead Army in the distance, his expression bitter. “We don’t have enough people. The most important thing now is to slow down the Necro’s advance and let civilians in that direction hurry to take shelter.”
The Avengers exchanged looks, feeling helpless inside. Before the Battle of London, including the Avengers, the Fairy Tale Girls Team, and the HELLSING agency, there were no less than ten globally famous top-tier experts.
Additionally, from Captain America’s observations, the mercenary teams brought by these Superhuman organizations also had many super mercenars far stronger than ordinary enhanced beings. Over a hundred Superhumans gathered together. At that time, no one believed the Nazi attack would bring catastrophic disaster to London.
But now, as the battle progressed, including the Green Hunter, the Allied Forces still had only about seven or eight Superhumans performing their duties. HELLSING’s biggest trump card—Alucard—had now caused more innocent casualties than the Crusader forces in North London.
The Incredible Hulk stood like a giant at the end of the street. He casually pushed aside cars from both sides of the street and threw them at the advancing Undead Army. One car after another stacked up like building blocks, forming layers of barriers like heavy defense lines in front of the Necro forces.
“Steve, ready!” Iron Man flew out like a jet rocket from a building on another nearby street and waved to Captain America behind him.
“Hey!” Hearing his companion’s call, Captain America gripped his shield with both hands. The veins on his arms bulged like small snakes. He pressed the shield against the side of a container truck and pushed the huge truck sideways toward the building.
“Crunch, crunch, crunch!” The container truck collided violently with the building. A series of cracking sounds could be faintly heard from inside the building. The entire ten-plus-story building actually began to tilt slowly and fall toward the street.
Iron Man in the air waved his hands, constantly shooting laser beams to cut the steel bars inside the walls, speeding up the building’s collapse. “Boom!” The building, which he had already tampered with internally, finally collapsed with a thunderous crash. It stirred up clouds of dust and completely blocked the street.
Under the resistance of the three Superhumans, the Undead Army finally slowed its advance. But obstacles of this level could not completely stop them. The heavily damaged Necro forces at the front melted back into the River of Death, slowly flowing through the gaps in the obstacles, and reformed into human shapes behind the barriers.
Of course, with each resistance, a large portion of the Necro were lost. But with the River of Death continuously gathering from all over London, the Undead Army quickly grew again. The total number actually increased instead of decreasing.
Just as the Fairy Tale Maidens said, as long as Alucard lived, the Necro attack would not stop. Wherever they went, nothing would remain.
At this moment, within the Undead Army that resembled the river of hell, two figures—one yellow and one white—moved swiftly, gradually approaching Alucard at the core of the Necro.
They were Irene, the Snow White, and Sheena, the Thumbelina, from the old Fairy Tale Girls Team. But the other two Fairy Tale Maidens, Liv, the Little Red Riding Hood, and Mira, the Black Queen, were missing.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the River of Death, the situation had taken a strange turn. A humanoid monster wrapped in huge tentacles was also attacking the Necro. It moved upstream at an extremely fast pace, forming a pincer attack with the two Fairy Tale Maidens ahead.
“Steve, this isn’t working. The Necro are still increasing. Who knows how many people died in London tonight? We’ll soon be overwhelmed.” Tony landed from the air, opened the faceplate of his Iron Man suit, and said seriously, “My energy is running low too. I can last at most ten more minutes. It’s time to let that thing join the fight!”
“Alright! Anyway, what we’re doing now has already violated Washington’s orders. One more violation doesn’t matter.” Captain America sighed, took out a black cube-shaped metal block from his chest, and pressed it lightly.
This cube, made of unknown material, floated in the air as if weightless after Captain America’s touch. Six cross-shaped cracks appeared on each face. It split into two layers, becoming eight small cubes in total. After splitting, these eight small cubes rapidly increased in size and split again.
One became eight, eight became sixty-four… The metal cube kept splitting and multiplying. Its color also changed from black to silver, quickly transforming into a stream of countless metal particles. Under the surrounding firelight, it shimmered with mesmerizing rainbow colors.
“Whoosh!” After expanding to a certain extent, the metal stream finally began to coalesce and shape, combining into a giant robot over six meters tall.
“Core protocols unlocked. Searching for current commands…”
“No current commands found. Searching for nearby commanders…”
“Detected Captain America Steve Rogers. Third sequence commander…”
“Captain, please state your command!” After a series of mechanical synthesized voices, the giant robot tilted its head. Its human-like metal face looked down at Captain America.
“Nick is going to beat me up when we get back!” Looking at the standard-issue robot, Captain America sighed and pointed at the Undead Army ahead. “In the name of justice, S-Class Mechanical War Police, I order you to eliminate the enemies before you.”
…
At that moment, thirty thousand meters above London, on the bridge of the airship The Zeppelin, using Lieutenant Schrödinger’s ability, large screens displayed real-time footage of the battles across the city.
“Hahaha, Integra’s death actually affected Alucard like this.” Major Montana sat in his seat, kicking his short chubby legs, laughing like a mischievous child who succeeded in a prank.
“Major, it seems your plan worked perfectly. After this battle, no matter the outcome, the Allied Forces will no longer be a united front.” Dr. Shahil said happily.
“Hmm, this is also Major Gerthard’s success. But this guy wasn’t living in seclusion for decades after the war as he claimed. The traitors among those Superhuman mercenaries are clearly his allies.”
Major Montana pointed at the screen with a smile, a glint in his eyes. “Doctor, I changed my mind. Prepare a small airship. We’re going down too.”
“Major?!” Dr. Shahil pushed his glasses up in surprise.
“It’s fine. With Ms. Pakunoda and the God of Death’s protection, it’s enough. Such a spectacular scene—it would be a real shame not to experience it firsthand.” Montana glanced at the beautiful woman from the Troupe and another black-haired young man behind him, revealing a meaningful smile.
