Death Notice
Book 10: Chapter 63: Scheme
“You want a World Token from the Toril World?” After hearing Qin Lun’s request, Kelly’s eyes flickered slightly.
Back in the Toril World, Qin Lun had encountered and initiated several major plots. Among them, “Ancient Path,” “Dwarf Mithril Hall,” and the founding task of the Silver Marches that might be triggered through Emily Silverhand, all belonged to the Epic Plot level.
(Emily, who was using the alias of the magic apprentice Elr at the time, was a direct descendant of Elastor Silverhand, one of the Seven Sisters of the Northlands.)
Qin Lun was recognized by King Thanequalas at the Anke Elf Court and obtained the identity of Saophila Elf Prince. This Plot Identity gave him an extremely deep connection to the Toril World, and at that time, his World Exploration Degree was also very high, so he received a World Token—the mini Uvellen Obelisk.
As long as Qin Lun used this World Token, he could enter the Toril World again as the Moon Elf Prince—Firal Moonlight.
World Tokens were roughly divided into two types. One was a personal token with an important Plot Identity. For example: Qin Lun’s Uvellen Obelisk, Vima’s message jade, the Iron Cross Medal, and so on.
There was also another type, the team token. Team tokens did not possess important Plot Identities; they only served as world locators. Compared to simple world locators, team tokens allowed Apostle teams to enter the Quest World at a specific time and space point, and team members would appear at the same location, making their function more prominent.
In the Toril World, the Fortress Team, which Qin Lun temporarily joined, cooperated with the Lost Novices. No one in the Lost Novices obtained a very outstanding Plot Identity, but after all, they also had important connections with several Epic Plots.
Qin Lun guessed they probably also had a World Token, though it was hard to say whether it was a personal token or a team token. He estimated the latter was more likely. If the Lost Novices had produced a World Token at that time, it would only be in Kelly’s hands.
The Female Martial Artist was a key member in several battles, and her World Exploration Degree and task contribution were second only to Qin Lun’s.
The Uvellen Obelisk was Qin Lun’s personal World Token and would not help bring Hill and Grant along. Even if the three formed a team, the probability of them being forcibly separated by the Star Void was still very high, after all, Hill and the other had no connection whatsoever with the Toril World.
Therefore, Qin Lun hoped to obtain the World Token in Kelly’s possession so he could bring Hill and the other into the Toril World. If Kelly’s World Token was a personal token, then he could give up the Uvellen Obelisk, letting Hill and Grant each have one, while he himself entered the Quest World relying on the connection he had formed with Toril.
There was a precedent for this. When he and Grant entered the Divine Comedy World, they used only one Iron Cross Medal, and Lili, who had no token, was also pulled in because she had previously entered the World War II World.
If Kelly had a team token, things would be even easier.
The Uvellen Obelisk had a usage limit. After each Quest World, the time and space point it allowed Qin Lun to enter the Toril World would shift further back. Although the identity of the Moon Elf Prince was very noticeable, the further back the time and space point shifted, the smaller the role this identity would naturally play.
When Qin Lun left the Toril World, he never imagined he would use this World Token so soon; he originally thought he would sell it.
The Toril World was too high-level. As a Mid-Magic World, it had more Legendary and Demigod powerhouses than some High-Magic Worlds. There were even multiple pantheons of deities, including several racial god systems. With his strength, carrying out those Epic Plots would be too dangerous.
However, plans could not keep up with changes. Only two Quest Worlds had passed since he left the Toril World. Through a series of coincidences, when Qin Lun looked back, he found he had almost completed the accumulation from Second Order to High Rank.
First, the attributes of his Law Body: in the Toril World, he inherited the Moon Elf heritage; in the Divine Comedy World, he fused with the Demon Bloodline; and in the Gospel World, he even obtained the Final Gospel.
These experiences greatly strengthened his Law Body. Especially the enhancement of the Final Gospel on his shortcomings in Strength and Constitution, which was no less than the physical enhancements from four or five Quest Worlds.
High-Rank Apostles required the body attributes related to their profession to exceed one hundred, and the most crucial body attribute must exceed one hundred even without equipment.
At this point, Qin Lun’s body attributes, with the boost from equipment and the Iron Cross Medal, had all exceeded one hundred. Only the most crucial Perception attribute could not exceed one hundred without equipment. But with a base Perception of 80 points, he believed it would only take two or three Quest Worlds to meet the requirement.
Next was equipment accumulation. Besides the consumable “Meri Mith Placenta,” Qin Lun now had Burial of Light and Darkness, Holy Crown of Thorns, the Frostwind Chaser Weapon Case—three Legendary Items in total—as well as the Iron Cross Medal, which was no less than a Legendary Item, and the Dagger of Sin, which had been upgraded to “Ten Thousand Slayer.”
His attack methods were comprehensive, covering both close and long range. His defense was slightly weaker, but he still had several pieces of High-Rank Dark Gold Equipment like the Earth Dragon Lizard Scale Armor, Phantom Leathers, Indian Feather Boots, and so on. The Holy Crown of Thorns had a “Sacred Pool” that could increase health. After transforming into the Iceflame Demon, he also had defense methods like the Frost Aura.
Although this level of equipment accumulation still could not compare to the assets of High-Rank powerhouses like Kelly and Gan Luo, it was about the same as some veteran Second-Order Apostles who wanted to break through to High Rank.
The main threshold Qin Lun currently faced in breaking through to High Rank lay in professional skills. Compared to body attributes and equipment, professional skills were the hardest aspect for Apostles to accumulate.
Almost no High-Rank Apostle had any shortcomings. In a short time, they could take on any role in a team. Attack, defense, reconnaissance, auxiliary healing—they could simulate each to about seventy or eighty percent, reaching the master level of their profession.
Qin Lun’s attack and reconnaissance were very good. After Demon Transformation, his defense was also decent. But his help to the team was relatively poor. Not to mention auxiliary healing, at the very least, he could not provide crowd control effects like an MT; he was completely the solo type.
This was not only because Qin Lun had rarely participated in frontal team battles, but also because he had too few professional skills. With few professional skills and low technique levels, naturally he could not become a combat master of his profession, and thus could not break through to High Rank.
At the same time, every High-Rank Apostle necessarily possessed several forbidden-level ultimate moves. Qin Lun’s Demon Transformation was very powerful, but it still did not reach the forbidden level.
Even the A-rank skill Stellar Black Hole and the A+-rank skill Tree World Descent could not be considered forbidden moves. The former was a single-target attack; its power was great, but enemies with strong Perception could easily avoid vital points, just like the High-Rank Assassin who ambushed Qin Lun back in the Toril World.
The latter could be considered a large-scale attack spell, but its attack effect was relatively poor. For example, in the Nals World, after Qin Lun used this move, all three High-Rank Apostles of the Nirvana team escaped successfully, and only one heavily injured Martial Artist, Kael, remained from the Second-Order Fink team.
Perhaps only after Clock Eye was upgraded to S-rank would the S-rank skill Wheel of Fate be considered a forbidden ability.
But the difficulty of upgrading eye techniques like Clock Eye was extremely high. Qin Lun was previously able to upgrade Clock Eye only because, by a stroke of luck, he obtained a pair of Scarlet Eyes from the Kurta Clan in the Hunter World, and at the same time, assimilated the eye equipment “Ganitus Left Eye” when fusing with the Demon Bloodline, which allowed it to reach A-rank.
If he wanted to continue upgrading to S-rank, the Mental Will attribute requirement in the skill was a minor matter, but obtaining special treasures comparable to the Scarlet Eyes would depend entirely on luck, with a probability as small as winning the lottery.
Originally, lacking so many skill reserves, Qin Lun had no thoughts of breaking through to High Rank in a short time. But in the last Quest World, he happened to obtain an advancement profession certificate and also acquired four Divine Domains.
Thus, Qin Lun felt that as long as there was a suitable Quest World, there was a complete opportunity to shorten the time to advance to a High-Rank profession. And Toril was undoubtedly that suitable Quest World.
Toril’s Faerûn was known as “Legendaries are as common as dogs, Demigods are everywhere.” This was definitely not an empty saying. The Toril World, composed of multiple outer planes, had Sapient Races as numerous as the hairs on an ox, and the great races that had once built glorious civilizations numbered more than two handfuls.
There were also several complete pantheons with deities ranging from Lesser to Greater power, and scattered deities and immortal beings who achieved godhood in a single domain were as countless as the stars.
If not for the fact that this Quest World was too vast, it would actually belong to a High-Magic World. This world with an extremely developed magical civilization did not lack any advanced skills or even forbidden abilities for Apostle professions.
Adventuring in this Quest World, as long as Apostles could retreat safely, the task rewards would be no less than any two other Mid-Magic Worlds. If they could fully complete a Legendary or Epic Plot and focus on obtaining combat skills, they might even gain the benefits of four or five other Quest Worlds, and they would not lack great opportunities to obtain forbidden abilities.
Qin Lun had the Uvellen Obelisk. The Plot Identity of the Moon Elf Prince allowed him to easily access several Epic Plots. More importantly, he now possessed the four major domains of Life, Death, Soul, and Creation. This was a divinity that even deities would covet.
The requirements for learning forbidden skills were extremely high, as could be seen from the S-rank eye technique—Wheel of Fate. Under normal conditions, even if Qin Lun encountered forbidden skills, he would not be able to learn them. But the Toril World could provide a shortcut to the peak, which was the divine favor or divine gift bestowed directly by deities.
If he could trade the four Divine Domains on his body, he believed he could exchange with deities for forbidden skills that suited him. If trading was not possible, then carrying these four Divine Domains would also make it easier to obtain divine favor from the corresponding Elf deities.
This was the idea that first came to Qin Lun’s mind after obtaining the four Divine Domains. Plus, with one more advancement profession certificate, he became even more determined to enter the Toril World as soon as possible, because the importance of the Plot Identity from the Uvellen Obelisk would diminish with each passing interval period.
