Death Guns In Another World

Chapter 2053 - 2053: Sudden Ambush

It was a sudden ambush on their way back, Alex quickly deal with the small monsters, it was then from the ground something burst out. A dangerous and powerful monster.

Roarrrr!

The monster howl echoed through the night as its massive body writhed, and the corrupted mana inside it pulsed violently. In desperation, it slammed its claws into the ground, channeling its cursed energy. The shadows around them thickened, writhing like liquid darkness before splitting open. From the abyss, dozens of smaller monsters crawled forth—grotesque hybrids resembling twisted wolves, serpents, and winged horrors.

“Damn it, it’s summoning reinforcements!” Serah shouted, her chest heaving with exertion as she wiped blood from her cheek.

Alex’s smirk returned, eyes gleaming with dangerous thrill. “Perfect. More targets.”

He holstered his gun briefly, twirling his sword before sprinting forward. But mid-run, his other hand snapped back to the gun, channeling raw mana into it. With a flick of his wrist, he unleashed a rapid barrage of mana bullets—each glowing like a star in the darkness. The bullets tore through the summoned creatures with deadly precision, their bodies bursting apart into fragments of shadow.

Meanwhile, Alex vaulted onto a wall, kicking off it with acrobatic grace, spinning mid-air. His sword ignited with flame, then coated with ice in an instant. In a seamless motion, he fired his gun downward while slashing outward, creating a spectacle of fire and frost as enemies disintegrated beneath him.

“Unbelievable…” Serah whispered, her eyes wide even as she fought off attackers of her own. She snapped out of her daze, her blades glowing as she cut down two hybrids closing in on her flanks.

The battlefield had turned into chaos. Alex’s movements were poetry in destruction. He weaved between blades, claws, and fangs, acrobatic leaps carrying him above swarming enemies. One moment he fired his gun, freezing an entire line of monsters in place, the next he spun with a fiery slash that reduced them to ashes. His dual use of sword and gun wasn’t just practical—it was beautiful, a deadly dance of fire, frost, and mana.

“Serah! Keep the small ones off me. I’ll finish the big one!” Alex called, his voice carrying through the chaos.

Serah nodded, determination blazing in her eyes. “Go! I’ll hold them!”

With her twin blades spinning, she leapt into the fray, cutting down every beast that lunged at her. The hybrids surrounded her like a storm, but she fought ferociously, each swing bursting with mana-infused strength. She became a whirl of light in the darkened street, her resolve unshakable.

The colossal monster roared, its crimson eyes locked on Alex. It swung its massive claw, but Alex met the blow head-on. His sword, now blazing with intertwining fire and frost, clashed against the beast’s strike. The force shook the street, stone cracking beneath their feet. But Alex didn’t falter. He twisted, sliding beneath the monster’s legs, firing an ice bullet upward that froze its joint.

With a roar, Alex slashed upward, his blade erupting in flame, shattering the frozen limb. The beast screamed in pain, crashing onto one knee.

“Not done yet!” Alex growled, leaping onto its back. He spun his gun in his grip, channeling mana until the barrel glowed white-hot. Pressing the weapon against the monster’s exposed wound, he fired a point-blank mana bullet infused with fire.

BOOM!

The explosion tore through flesh, blood, and shadow, making the abomination thrash violently. Still, it clung to life, writhing in rage.

From below, Serah screamed, “Alex! Finish it!” Her blades carved through another hybrid as she held the swarm at bay, sweat dripping down her face.

Alex rose to his feet on the beast’s back, his sword glowing brighter than ever. Flames and frost danced together violently, steam rising as the opposing elements fused under his will. Raising the blade high, his eyes burned with resolve.

“This ends now.”

With all his strength, he plunged the blade down, embedding it into the creature’s spine. Mana surged from him in a devastating torrent, fire and ice erupting outward like a volcanic storm and freezing hurricane combined.

The monster howled one last time before the explosion consumed it. Fire engulfed its body while ice crystallized its blood, the two forces tearing it apart from within. With a final thunderous crack, the abomination collapsed, its massive form dissolving into nothing but steam and ash.

Silence fell.

The street lay in ruins, stone shattered, shadows scorched. The smaller monsters vanished along with their master. Serah collapsed onto one knee, her chest rising and falling with exhaustion. Her blades dripped with black blood, her face pale but triumphant.

Alex landed beside her, his sword resting on his shoulder, his gun cooling in his grip. He smirked despite the carnage. “Not bad for a warm-up.”

Serah scoffed, glaring at him even as relief softened her eyes. “Warm-up? You’re insane…”

Before either could catch their breath, a faint rustle echoed. One assassin, gravely wounded, crawled from the shadows. Instead of fleeing, he raised his bloodied hand, revealing a small crest glowing with cursed runes. His voice was weak, but his words chilling.

“Ouroboros… will never… stop. This city… this guild… all of you… are already marked.”

The crest burned into his palm, consuming him in black fire. Within seconds, his body turned to ash, leaving only the faint trace of a serpent-shaped mark etched into the ground.

Alex and Serah exchanged a grim look. The battle was over—but the war had only just begun.

The monster’s desperate summons filled the ruined street with screeching horrors. Alex was everywhere at once, vaulting off walls, firing elemental bullets mid-flip, then slashing with his blade infused with both flame and frost. The air cracked with explosions, steam, and searing heat. Serah, holding the line, fought like a whirlwind of radiant steel, her blades flashing arcs of light as she cut down the hybrids that pressed against her.

Then Alex struck the decisive blow — his sword plunged into the abomination’s spine, unleashing a torrent of mana. Fire roared, ice froze, and the beast’s howl was cut short as it disintegrated into ash and steam. Silence followed, broken only by Serah’s heavy breathing and Alex lowering his sword, smoke rising from the blade.

But from the ruins, a single assassin crawled forward. His mask shattered, blood dripping from his lips, yet his eyes burned with fanatic resolve. He raised a trembling hand, revealing a black crest etched with cursed runes.

“Ouroboros… will never stop,” he rasped.
