Chapter 1929 - 1929: Chaper 1712: Holy Magic: Saint Body and Sparring Match
As Luna’s master activated Saint Body, the 12th Tier of the Holy Magic, his entire being became a beacon of divine radiance. His golden armor of light pulsed with overwhelming power, and the sheer pressure of his aura sent tremors across the dungeon.
The Emperor-Class Abyssal Spawn snarled, its many mouths gnashing as dark energy swirled around its grotesque form.
Then—
BOOM!
He vanished.
A split second later—
CRAAACK!
His hammer connected with the monstrosity’s chest, the sheer force ripping through its shadow-infused flesh and sending the massive beast staggering backward.
The monster’s dragon head roared, summoning abyssal chains from the void. They shot toward him, twisting like living serpents, each chain pulsing with cursed energy that could erode even divine power.
But—
FWOOOSH!
He twisted his body mid-air, dodging with inhuman precision. He gripped his hammer with both hands, spinning as he smashed through the chains, shattering them into black dust.
The humanoid head opened its empty sockets, releasing a piercing wail—a soul-rending curse designed to shatter the minds of mortals.
But Luna’s master only grinned.
With a flex of his divine energy—
“Holy Art: Purging Storm!”
A golden shockwave erupted from his body, obliterating the sound-based attack and pushing the monster back.
Seizing the opportunity, he surged forward again, his hammer crackling with divine lightning.
BOOM!
Another devastating blow struck the beast’s side, sending one of its heads flying off.
But the monster was far from done.
The third head, the skinless beast, let out an ear-piercing shriek, causing spikes of abyssal energy to erupt from the ground. They pierced toward him like an unrelenting storm of spears.
“Tsk.”
With sheer speed, he dodged the first few, but then—
SHNK!
One spear grazed his shoulder, its corrupted energy trying to seep into his flesh.
But he laughed.
“You think that’s enough?”
“Divine Purge.”
A brilliant golden fire ignited around his wound, burning away the corruption instantly.
Then—
BANG!
He rocketed forward, delivering an earth-shattering uppercut with his hammer, sending the beast skyward.
But the monster refused to fall alone.
Its severed heads regenerated.
Then—
Its body split into three.
Three identical Abyssal Spawns, now surrounding Maximus from all sides.
Freya, watching from the distance, clenched her fists. “Tsk. This bastard evolved mid-battle?”
Luna’s master, however, grinned even wider.
“I was hoping you’d last longer.”
He slammed his hammer into the ground.
“Divine Art: Sanctum Collapse!”
The entire dungeon quaked.
Cracks of holy light spread beneath his feet, erupting into pillars of divine fire.
The first clone disintegrated instantly.
The second roared, trying to escape—
BANG!
He intercepted, grabbing its skull with one hand before CRUSHING it in a fiery explosion.
The third spawn lunged at him from behind, its jaws opening to swallow him whole—
But Luna’s master swung his hammer over his shoulder without looking.
CRACK!
The beast’s skull caved in, its body collapsing into darkness.
Silence.
The battlefield was nothing but ruins.
He exhaled, his armor of light flickering as he turned to Freya.
“Alright,” he grinned, wiping sweat from his forehead. “What’s next?”
Freya smirked, crossing her arms.
“Muscle brain.”
“Hehehe! Interesting. Let’s spare after a while!”
Maximus’ booming laughter echoed through the ruined battlefield. His golden aura blazed, the sheer divine pressure distorting the air around him. The Saint Body had reactivated, coating his muscular frame in a layer of sacred armor, its brilliance akin to a miniature sun.
Freya, in contrast, remained calm. She brushed a strand of silver hair behind her ear, her icy blue eyes glinting with amusement.
“You’re such a battle maniac,” she mused, a faint chuckle escaping her lips.
Maximus grinned. “You’re just afraid I’ll win.”
In response, Freya spread her crystalline wings. The temperature plummeted instantly—the ruined battlefield was soon engulfed in a frozen storm as frost spiraled around her.
She lifted a hand— a spear of pure ice materialized, jagged and shimmering with ancient magic.
“Fine. Let’s put your brute strength to the test, Muscle Brain.”
Maximus grinned wider.
Then—
BOOM!
Both vanished simultaneously.
A shockwave erupted where they once stood, cracking the dungeon’s floor.
CRACK! BOOM!
They collided mid-air, Maximus’ hammer clashing against Freya’s ice spear. The sheer force of the impact rippled outward, tearing through the dungeon’s ceiling.
Chunks of debris fell, instantly frozen by Freya’s aura before being incinerated by Maximus’ divine flames.
Their movements blurred—they exchanged over a hundred blows in mere seconds.
Freya’s spear moved like a blizzard, each thrust aiming for a fatal strike. Maximus, despite his large build, matched her speed, his hammer swings heavy yet precise, shattering ice constructs before they could fully form.
Then—
Freya flicked her wrist, sending an ice lance toward Maximus’ chest.
BOOM!
It struck—but failed to pierce through his Saint Body armor.
Maximus counterattacked instantly—
“Holy Art: Heaven’s Judgement!”
He swung his hammer downward—a golden pillar of divine energy erupted from the heavens, aiming to crush Freya completely.
But she merely smirked.
“Absolute Zero.”
A wave of frost expanded outward. The divine energy froze mid-air, its radiance dimming before shattering like glass.
Maximus’ expression flickered with surprise. “Oh? That’s new.”
Freya’s eyes glowed a haunting blue.
She vanished—
FWOOOSH!
She reappeared above him, her ice spear now thrice its original size, pulsating with destructive energy.
“Try handling this, o’ Saint of Strength.”
She thrust downward.
BOOOOOM!
The impact split the dungeon in half.
The force sent Maximus crashing through layers of bedrock, his armored body burrowing deep into the dungeon’s depths.
For a moment, there was only silence.
Freya floated mid-air, her breath visible in the freezing atmosphere. “Is that all?” she taunted.
Then—
The ground trembled.
Rocks levitated, golden cracks forming in the air itself.
Then—
BOOM!
Maximus EXPLODED from the depths, his hammer crackling with holy lightning. His Saint Body armor burned brighter than ever.
And he was grinning.
“Hah! That actually hurt a little.” He rolled his shoulders, shaking off the residual frost.
Then—
“Holy Art: Divine Meteor!”
His hammer spun, accumulating astronomical force. The air howled as gravity itself bent under its power.
Freya’s eyes narrowed.
“Fine. I’ll end this in one move.”
She spread her wings wider, her body levitating as frost surged around her.
“Frost Domain: Eternal Night.”
A colossal glacier formed above them, swallowing the entire battlefield in a sphere of ice. The world turned white.
Maximus charged.
Freya descended.
And then—
BOOOOOOOOM!
Their attacks collided, unleashing an explosion that consumed the entire dungeon.
When the dust settled…
The once-massive dungeon was gone, reduced to nothing but rubble and mist.
Maximus lay sprawled on his back, grinning even as steam rose from his body.
Freya sat on a floating ice throne, barely out of breath.
She arched a brow. “Had enough?”
Maximus laughed heartily, shaking his head. “Damn, that was fun.”
Then—he winced.
“Ow. Okay, maybe I overdid it.”
Freya chuckled, shaking her head.
“Come on, Muscle Brain. Let’s get moving.”
Their battle had destroyed the dungeon completely.
But more importantly—
They had cleared another threat from the world.
