Chapter 1927 - 1711: The Purge
The moment Freya and Luna’s master teleported into the new dungeon, they were engulfed by darkness.
A suffocating pressure filled the air, thick with malice and corruption. The walls of the cavern seemed alive, shifting and pulsing like the insides of a great beast. The stench of blood and decay was overwhelming.
And then—
A horde of monsters descended upon them.
Shrieks!
Screeches!
Roars!
A wave of grotesque creatures surged forward, numbering in the thousands.
Mutated beasts with too many eyes, monstrous centipedes the size of buildings, undead giants wielding rusted weapons, and winged abominations dripping with acidic bile.
This was no ordinary dungeon.
This was a lair of nightmares.
A breeding ground for unholy monstrosities.
The creatures, drawn by the arrival of fresh prey, swarmed from every direction.
“Tch. So much filth,” he grumbled, cracking his neck. “Fine, I’ll cleanse it.”
His golden armor shone brighter, his aura expanding like a miniature sun. He raised his massive war hammer, and in one mighty swing—
“DIVINE JUDGMENT!”
BOOOOOOOOM!
A golden explosion erupted from his hammer, annihilating hundreds of monsters in an instant.
Their bodies disintegrated, their twisted forms unable to withstand the holy light.
But the horde was endless.
For every monster slain, dozens more crawled out of the shadows, their horrific screeches echoing through the cavern.
Luna’s master grinned.
“Good. More to crush.”
Meanwhile, Freya had already moved.
Unlike her friend, the muscle brain idiot, who enjoyed overwhelming his foes with raw power, she fought with deadly precision.
She vanished, reappearing midair, her crystal wings spread wide.
“Frost Monarch Domain.”
With a mere whisper, the entire dungeon was plunged into a frozen abyss.
WHOOSH!
The temperature plummeted instantly, and in the blink of an eye—
Everything turned to ice.
The monsters— frozen solid in mid-motion.
The cavern walls— encased in thick frost.
The very air itself— cracking with subzero energy.
Freya descended gracefully, touching the ground lightly as she flicked her wrist.
“Shatter.”
CRACK!
A single echoing sound, and then—
BOOOOOOOOOOOM!
The entire frozen battlefield shattered into dust.
The countless creatures, frozen in place, simply ceased to exist.
He stomped on the ground, crushing the skull of a still-twitching beast.
“This place isn’t normal.”
Freya nodded, her icy gaze sweeping the dark tunnels ahead.
“No. This is a cursed dungeon. Something—or someone—is breeding these abominations.”
The deeper they ventured, the more they realized—
This wasn’t a dungeon.
This was a laboratory.
And someone was creating monsters here.
Freya’s expression darkened. “We burn it to the ground.”
Luna’s master grinned. “Now you’re speaking my language.”
With that, the two friends marched forward, ready to purge this place from existence.
The two weren’t here for nothing, like every member of the world counsel they received mission. To deal with the many weird occurrences happening all over the world since the beginning of the war. They knew it was the doing of their enemy, surely a ploy to divide them but they didn’t have the choice, if those situations were left unchecked the possibility of winning the war would decrease and above everything else a lot of people would die if dungeons monsters kept overflowing outside on top of the already ongoing monsters wave. Those two missions were to cleanse few dangerous dungeons, it was called The Purge mission.
The two advanced deeper into the dungeon, stepping over the shattered remains of frozen monsters. The air was thick with malevolent energy, and an unnatural whispering filled the tunnels—as if the dungeon itself was alive.
“Something’s watching us,” Freya murmured.
Luna’s master scoffed, gripping his hammer.
“Good. Let it watch. It’ll be dead soon enough.”
As they moved forward, the tunnels widened, revealing a massive underground chamber.
And at the center—
A grotesque altar pulsating with dark chaotic energy.
Rows of corpses—both human and monster—were impaled on black spikes, their lifeless eyes still glowing with eerie light.
Chains rattled. Flesh twitched. Blood dripped from the ceiling.
Drip! Drip!
But most disturbing of all—
Gigantic cocoons hung from the cavern walls, pulsating as if something inside was alive.
Ba-dump! Ba-dump!
Freya narrowed her eyes. “A monster birthing nest.”
Meanwhile her friend cracked his knuckles.
“Then we burn it.”
It was then a voice spoke.
A deep, inhuman voice echoed through the chamber.
“Fools…”
The air trembled.
RUMBLE!
The cocoons split open, spilling out horrors that should not exist.
Titanic beasts covered in black carapace.
Winged horrors with skulls for faces and limbs twisted in impossible ways.
Monstrosities that defied reality itself.
And then—
A figure emerged from the altar.
A tall, robed entity with six glowing red eyes, its hands elongated into clawed fingers.
Dark chaotic energy swirled around it, corrupting the very air.
“You are too late,” it hissed. “The children of the abyss have already begun to awaken.”
Freya’s expression remained cold. “Then we’ll put them back to sleep.”
Luna’s master let out a loud laugh, pointing his hammer at the robed figure.
“You talk too much. Time to die.”
The monsters charged at the duo wanting to rip them apart.
Freya raised her hand—
“Frozen World.”
BOOOOOOOOOM!
An ice storm exploded from her body, instantly freezing everything within a hundred meters.
The first wave of creatures turned to solid statues, their monstrous screeches cut off mid-roar as their bodies shattered.
But the larger ones—
They resisted.
Meanwhile her companion grinned. “My turn I guess. Heavy oh !”
He slammed his hammer into the ground—
“DIVINE SMITE!”
KABOOOM!
Golden light surged outward, obliterating everything in its path.
The ground split apart, the cavern quaking under the sheer force.
But the robed figure remained standing, untouched.
It raised a single claw, and from the abyss beneath the altar, a colossal black hand emerged.
A demon made of shadows, its body warped and shifting, rising from the depths.
Its mouth opened, revealing endless rows of teeth.
“Die.” The robed figure whispered.
The shadow demon lunged.
The two charged forward.
And the dungeon descended into chaos.
Meanwhile, in the outside world, dark clouds filled the sky with lightning bolts striking down as if the world was suffering, announcing the arrival of a great calamity.
Bahamut had fully recovered his powers and his queen was showing sign of waking up. He would offer Alex’s women as sacrifices for her perfect awakening. Time to deal the first real blow, erasing the Freya academy, home for nurturing the future generations of heroes. Now that Freya and that muscle brain idiots weren’t present and other powerful forces busy elsewhere, it was the perfect time to deal them a blow. Some of Alex’s members might try to intervene but they would be late.
“Commence the operation !” he ordered Thanos who nodded and sent the assault order.
