Three minutes.

If the opponent showed no signs of surrendering while clearly being on the losing side, the guards would have the right to intervene in the duel between their employer and their opponent.

But during those three minutes, only the sounds of breaking bones and muffled screams came from Noah, who was beaten to a pulp without mercy.

A fight?

No such thing happened.

From start to finish, Cillian was in control. The fireball and gale spells, the show of strength to the others, and last but not least, Noah’s inability to surrender no matter how many times he tried to do it.

This was important for Cillian since he had to keep Noah’s mouth shut while he was having fun beating him up.

Yet he was still unsatisfied.

"T-three minutes!"

"Hey, stop that!"

One of the guards who had been watching the clock in his pocket immediately dashed forward with the other guard.

Just as they approached Noah while glaring daggers at Cillian, Darwin formed a wall between them, leaving them staring at the cold third-year principal before their gazes shifted toward Noah to check on his well-being.

"Have you no shame in beating a fellow student like that?"

Having his hair stand on end from the sheer amount of cringe coming from their mouths, Cillian answered as he wiped the blood from his hand using a handkerchief that Darwin had somehow handed to him, despite the man magically having one in his hand.

After throwing the handkerchief toward the two guards, Cillian turned around and started walking toward the gold coins that Noah had wagered.

A hundred gold coins wasn’t the kind of money that someone could have simply saved up over a few years. It only meant that a person was rich; it didn’t matter what circumstances they had gone through to acquire such an amount.

Cillian retrieved half of the gold coins from Noah’s side, not minding the gazes that seemed to pierce through him whenever he happened to look at them.

’Ah, just as I was planning on exploring more of the Academy and Xesie as a whole.’

Leaving the fifty gold coins on the ground, Cillian then began to look around before a dangerous smile played on his lips.

"Who wants to fight me? Let’s duel."

Cillian paused.

"You just need five gold coins to do so. If you win, all fifty-five gold coins will be yours."

His smile grew wider as he stared at the students who were starting to get scared by his actions before repeating.

"Fight me."

Then, under his breath, he muttered.

"Nearby Flag Presence."

...

Similar situations were happening all around the Xesie Academy, and all of the targets were students from Viola who were only trying to explore and blend in with their new school. Not all of them won, but most accepted the fights and achieved great results.

Tak—!

However, there were two people who had gained overwhelming victories from their fights on their first day.

One was Fergus, who gave his opponents a proper fight before ending each one the moment they surrendered. He managed to defeat three opponents back to back.

Even though they had heard about what he had done back at his previous Academy, mainly because he was the boss there and the son of the former deceased lord, it seemed that what had happened changed him and made him a better person.

For now.

But there was another scene that caused a great commotion among the people watching.

Tak—!

Their throats were smashed first, ensuring that they couldn’t surrender using their voices. Next came their hands, preventing them from giving any sort of sign that they had given up the duel.

Tak—!

Six bodies were piled up on the side. The seventh victim, who had been in his grasp for two and a half minutes, now looked almost dead.

Everyone remained frozen, shuddering as they watched.

Tak—!

The thirty seconds felt too long as the only things they heard were the sounds of someone’s head being popped, figuratively speaking, bones being broken, and the relentless kicking and smacking.

And Cillian did it while wearing a small smile on his lips, which was noticed by the audience merely watching from afar.

"What do you think, Cain?"

One of Xesie’s daughters, who had been in Viola to retrieve the students who belonged to the Academy, asked the person beside her. She had short pink hair and porcelain skin as she looked down at the fight.

"I heard that he’s a smart person."

The man with the same pink hair answered after a few moments of silence. He also shared the woman’s features, though his body was more defined, with strong features that suggested years of fighting. A scar peeked out from the back of his neck, and his gaze was sharp.

However, he couldn’t help but feel disappointed.

"But what he’s doing is pretty reckless."

"I know, right?"

The woman chuckled as she answered.

They didn’t know what he was doing by beating up the famous first-year students who dared to challenge him because he was a hero back in Viola. But because of that, he attracted a lot of attention and continued to garner the attention of the entire Academy.

"The strongest Ruiner that appeared in Viola and Cillian’s current guard, Darwin Moose. They came from that bunch of dogs that hunted ’them,’ right, Polly?"

Polly nodded.

"That’s what they said."

Cain’s eyes narrowed as he looked toward Darwin.

"He doesn’t seem to be aware of us—"

Suddenly, Cain stopped looking at Darwin when he felt someone’s gaze on him. Even though both he and Polly were concealed by an invisible spell they had cast over themselves, they were confident that they wouldn’t be noticed, even by someone like Darwin, a Three Circle Sorcerer.

However, they were noticed.

"Hmm?"

Both of them looked down at Cillian, who was currently staring in their direction. It was a pair of eyes that seemed to know exactly where they were.

"Interesting... Can he actually see us? I knew he wasn’t ordinary when he was glaring at Kairus back then, but this is really interesting."

Polly remained silent as they watched Cillian continue looking in their direction even after the seventh duel had ended before scoffing.

"As if."

Soon, Cillian’s eyes shifted toward the five gold coins that his opponent had wagered before he backed off.

It seemed he was tired of fighting and immediately exited the stage after making a mess and a name for himself.

"We’re done here. We’ll report this to him."

"Sure~"

Cain turned around and began to leave. Polly gave Cillian one last look over her shoulder before following behind Cain as a thought entered her head.

’That guy’s interesting. I hope we’re attending the same classes. I can’t wait to have tons of fun with him.’
