Death… And Me

Chapter 4613: It is Like This

The first results of the Godly Pressure Adaptation project appeared while the twins’ group was enjoying their time off. And with them... another huge headache for Clasou, the Godly Subjugation Guild Master of Besgol as a whole.

Flugel remained at the farm, and he selected several low-level cultivators to participate in the project, most of them relatively young.

One thing he had learned back in Woster was that both age and cultivation level played an important role in the adaptation process. The younger and weaker the cultivator was, the faster the results would appear. Surprisingly, after almost a month, an Initial Stage Anchor God who was still only ten years old showed the first signs of successful adaptation. It was only around 5%, but it was undeniable.

Of course, he was a member of one of the major powers in Besgol. Had it not been for the proper assurances and guarantees, there was no way his guardians would have allowed a ten-year-old child to be brought anywhere near a sealed Godly Horror.

Even so, the experiment was proceeding well. The young Anchor God had begun to show the first signs of adaptation, although it would still take a very long time before he reached the level of resistance that Flugel and the others had achieved.

After all, one couldn’t forget that Flugel had spent several decades in Woster alongside the twins’ group. His current level of adaptation was the result of years of constant exposure rather than something that could be achieved in a few weeks.

Nonetheless, the news that the method actually worked spread like wildfire throughout Besgol. Before long, the Godly Subjugation Guild began receiving countless requests from cultivators of all levels. Everyone wanted an opportunity to spend time near the sealed Godly Horror and gradually develop resistance to Godly Pressure.

Tobao and the Law Gods of Besgol were naturally delighted by the news. Without a doubt, priority would be given to the Law Gods and other absolute top experts of the Region. After all, those experts were the pillars supporting Besgol’s overall strength. Besides, with Arcis and Zandal already in Besgol, they didn’t need to worry as much about leaving the Region insufficiently protected while their own experts underwent the adaptation process.

The big problem was what to do with the rest of the space. Those top experts would only take around 1% of it, so there was a lot of space to use.

The project then entered its next phase: moving the living Godly Horror imprisoned within the Sacred Relic’s Influence to the farm as well.

Which Godly Horror?

Obviously, it was the one captured when the twins’ group intervened during the massive horde. The cultivators had managed to capture one alive because many Law Gods from other Regions had been assisting Besgol at the time. Without a doubt, the best thing they could obtain from keeping it alive was a continuous source of Godly Pressure.

With two Godly Horrors available, the number of cultivators who could undergo the adaptation process would essentially double.

Besgol was not stingy with this discovery. Tobao immediately used the Long-Distance Communication Arrays to inform the other Regions of the alliance about what they had achieved. This would allow the other Regions to begin making their own plans to capture Godly Horrors and establish similar projects.

It also helped strengthen Besgol’s relationship with the other Regions. After all, every Region that benefited from Besgol’s discovery would owe it a favor. The alliance had always depended on cooperation, and this was another reason for everyone to value Besgol’s contribution.

Then, the problems started.

Without a doubt, the biggest issue was the lack of space for everyone to experience the enormous amounts of Godly Pressure released by the Godly Horrors.

The Godly Horrors naturally released their Godly Pressure, sure. However, there was a certain limit to how far that pressure could spread at a useful concentration. To be more specific, their Godly Pressure could travel quite far—several hundred meters and, under the right conditions, even a few kilometers. But the further away a cultivator was from the Godly Horror, the weaker the pressure became.

According to Zandal’s theory, a cultivator needed to experience a concentration of Godly Pressure similar to what existed in Woster for it to work. Such an intense concentration could only be felt within roughly ten meters of the Godly Horrors.

Now, consider Besgol.

The Region had billions of cultivators once all of its countries were taken into account. Only a tiny fraction of them would ever have a chance to adapt to Godly Pressure through this method simply because there wasn’t enough space around the Godly Horrors.

And to make matters worse, adaptation wasn’t something that could be completed in a few days or even months. It took literal decades. Depending on the cultivator’s age and cultivation level, it could take even longer.

Flugel and Arcis, for example, only got around 70% immunity against Godly Pressure after those decades in Woster, and the higher the immunity intended, the longer it would take. That’s why they stopped at 70%. Just another 10% would take them hundreds of years.

Since the project was being managed by the Godly Subjugation Guild, which represented all the countries and the Besgol Region as a whole, giving preference to experts from the top powers was a dangerous matter.

It was okay during the testing phases since results were what mattered most. Now, however, the results were out, and the same thing couldn’t be done. If the Guild consistently prioritized powerful countries and influential cultivators, the weaker countries would inevitably become dissatisfied. The only exception, as mentioned, were the real top cultivators, like the Law Gods.

One couldn’t forget that the union between the countries was the cornerstone keeping the entire Region together. If the Godly Pressure Adaptation project wasn’t handled carefully, Besgol could gradually begin to suffer internal problems.

There was only one way to solve the problem.

They needed to capture more Godly Horrors.

Obviously, that was much easier said than done.

Zandal had already made it clear that they were only supposed to call him if an emergency arose, and this situation didn’t qualify. As for Tobao and the other Law Gods, they weren’t confident they could capture another Godly Horror alive within the Godly Creatures Territories, at least not safely.

That was especially true when one considered that Arcis himself was among those who had only managed to adapt to around seventy percent of the Godly Pressure in Woster after spending a long time there. Even a Law God would find capturing a Godly Horror alive extremely dangerous.

It was a problem that needed to be solved soon.

—

Back in the Great Void, Roan and Calina were having a conversation with their grandchild, Aken. He had now reached the Late Stage of the Space-Bending Realm, and his cultivation was progressing smoothly. The atmosphere was relaxed, with Aken listening attentively as Roan and Calina discussed some matters related to his cultivation.

Suddenly, Roan narrowed his eyes.

His attention left the Great Void for a moment as he sensed the arrival of several cultivators at his residence in the Godly Subjugation Guild of Jufafner.

Roan had told Rean and the others that they would have a month to stabilize their cultivation before resuming their seclusion, but he had never told anyone outside the group about that arrangement.

Roan immediately focused his attention on Rean, intending to ask him to go outside and see what was happening.

Unfortunately, Rean was completely unreachable.

Let’s just say things were quite hot back in his Great Void residence with Qia...

Celis didn’t even bother answering. He had no interest in whatever was happening outside, especially when there were no cultivation resources involved.

As for Kentucky, he was still in the Celestial Plane as well, but he was quite far away, enjoying his own time with Kachia.

"Tch..." Roan clicked his tongue. "I’ll be right back."

With that, Roan disappeared from the Great Void and returned to his residence in the Besgol Region.

Lunelle was cultivating quietly in her own corner of the enormous room. She didn’t even bother paying attention to the cultivators outside, and Roan had no reason to disturb her.

Finally, Roan allowed the cultivators waiting outside to enter.

A single figure walked in, with the rest waiting outside.

It was Clasou.

"Clasou?" Roan’s expression immediately turned displeased. "I told your guild that we were in seclusion. It better be something important."

Clasou nodded apologetically. "Sorry for the interruption. First, congratulations on your breakthrough. You are now a Zone God Realm expert. What about the others?"

Roan already looked annoyed. "They all succeeded as well. You should know that already, considering Kentucky is somewhere with Kachia. Now stop wasting my time. I have things to do. What is it?"

Clasou scratched the back of his head.

Twice already, Roan had helped the Region by providing ideas that solved major problems. First came the Godly Crystal Farm. Then came the distribution of the Godly Apex Crystals. In both cases, his suggestions had prevented enormous difficulties and allowed Besgol to gain considerable advantages.

Now, Clasou found himself at the center of yet another troublesome situation.

The Godly Pressure Adaptation project had become a headache for the Godly Subjugation Guild, and since Clasou was the one ultimately responsible for managing the situation, he decided to consult Roan once again.

"It is like this..."
