Death… And Me
Chapter 4604: No Time To Waste
Only a few seconds passed before the barrier finally fell. Doluno still had a considerable amount of strength left, and the moment he was free, his attention immediately turned toward the twins’ group. Roan narrowed his eyes as Doluno charged forward, then calmly reached toward his side.
*Grab!*
What was on Roan’s side? Aurundi, of course! Roan grabbed Aurundi’s core again, much to the Voltari’s despair.
Roan didn’t bother explaining himself. As Doluno rapidly made his way toward the twins’ group, Roan shifted his stance until he looked almost like a pitcher preparing to throw a baseball. He then coldly grinned.
"Didn’t you want to hold them back for us? Here’s your moment to shine! Go, Law God!"
And... he threw Aurundi at Doluno!
"What the fuck are you doing?!" Aurundi wanted to cry, but unfortunately, he was just a spirit with a core.
Aurundi immediately circulated his own energy to slow himself down, lightning arcing wildly around his body as he fought against the momentum. Still, it took nearly half a second to completely stop himself, and that was more than enough time for Doluno to catch up to him.
’Voltari Crack!’
For better or worse, Aurundi was still a Law God, just like Doluno. He was much weaker than the Peak Stage Law God, but he wasn’t weak enough to be killed instantly.
Doluno wasn’t about to waste the opportunity, though. From his perspective, Roan had simply decided to sacrifice Aurundi so the rest of the group could run away. His bloodline runes gathered around his fist, drawing in a tremendous amount of energy from the Region God blood he had consumed, while his Laws of Fire and Godly Energy surged together.
’Blazing Sun Fist!’
*Kabooom!*
A violent explosion of Fire and Lightning erupted in front of the twins’ group, sending Aurundi’s core flying backward like a bullet. The attack wasn’t enough to finish him, but the Voltari was definitely in no condition to fight anytime soon after taking that blow.
That was enough to buy the twins’ group the time they needed. As soon as Doluno charged through the fading aftermath of the explosion, he expected to see Roan and the others fleeing for their lives. Instead, Rean and Roan appeared on either side of him, their Elemental Intent Weapons already in their hands.
The Dark Element within Roan’s Dark Red Lightning immediately became chaotic as it encountered Rean’s Light Element Bright Red Lightning. The two opposing elements, which normally complemented each other perfectly, were once again forced to reject one another as they gathered around their weapons.
’Red Death and Life, Seventh Form, Crimson Sun and Moon Obliteration!’
At the same time, Kentucky attacked from above. Twelve feathers were covered in his Minokawa Bloodline, with two of them held like swords in his hands. Kentucky was already in his Godly Transformation form.
’Final Art - Sky Sovereign’s Twin Eclipse!’
Before Doluno could react, the ground beneath him erupted. Countless roots burst from the earth and shot toward him from every direction, attempting to bind his body and drain his remaining energy.
Celis had made his move as well.
’Life Draining Roots!’
Kachia, Lukay, Luxa, and Lunelle, however, were left behind. Lukay and Kachia had been tasked with protecting Luxa and Lunelle, whom the Natak Region wanted the most. Besides, they weren’t nearly as capable of coordinating their attacks with the rest of the group. If they joined the main assault, they might actually interfere with the twins’ coordination rather than help.
[Yin Yang Sanctuary!]
[Activate?]
’Yes!’
[Yin Yang Sanctuary activated!]
[Yin Yang Sanctuary: 120 Seconds]
This time, the Yin Yang Sanctuary was being used differently. It didn’t eliminate any of the Godly Pressure in the surroundings. Only its weakening effect was activated.
It had to be done this way. If the Sanctuary completely removed the Godly Pressure from the area, Doluno would actually become stronger, since he was affected by Godly Pressure just like every other cultivator.
As for the twins’ group, they didn’t rely on their partial immunity to Godly Pressure that they had acquired back in Woster. Instead, they used the precious moment Aurundi had bought them (against his will, that is...) to swallow one of Roan’s Anti-Godly Pressure Pills. With that, they became completely immune to Godly Pressure while the Sanctuary simultaneously weakened their enemy.
The timing was perfect. Doluno had fully expected the twins’ group to run, so seeing Rean, Roan, Kentucky, and Celis waiting for him caught him completely off guard. Worse, he could suddenly feel his cultivation dropping by an entire stage for no apparent reason.
Still, Doluno was relying on the sacrifice of his life force and the Region God Blood at that moment. Even under the Sanctuary’s weakening effect, he remained at least as strong as he normally was under ordinary conditions. His reaction was incredibly fast as the Laws of Fire and Fire Element accumulated around both fists, while his Godly Energy circulated through his body at a frightening rate.
Doluno didn’t try to dodge.
If anything, he welcomed the incoming attacks. This was a golden opportunity to eliminate Rean, Roan, Celis, and Kentucky in one move. He could see that Luxa and Lunelle were further behind, so he didn’t have to worry about accidentally killing the two targets his race wanted.
Finally, both sides collided.
*Ziuuuuu... KABRUUUUUM!*
An explosion that no one would expect a group of Aura Gods could help create erupted across the battlefield. Fire, Lightning, Light, Dark, and countless other chaotic energies collided, tearing through everything in the surrounding area.
*Zush, zush, zush, zush...*
Rean, Roan, Celis, and Kentucky were blasted backward like four comets traveling in different directions. Their bodies were charred, countless bones were broken, and cracks spread across Celis’s wooden trunk.
*Bang, bang!*
Rean and Roan slammed into the barrier array behind them, the impact producing another pair of unpleasant cracking sounds and worsening their injuries. Celis and Kentucky missed the barrier entirely, but they smashed through several trees before finally coming to a stop hundreds of meters away.
’Life Style, Instant Recovery!’
Light Element immediately burst from Rean and Roan’s bodies as they forced themselves back onto their feet, attempting to repair their injuries as quickly as possible.
However, Doluno emerged from the explosion at almost the same time and immediately charged toward the twins. Looking at him, it was difficult to understand how he was still moving at all. A large portion of his left shoulder was gone, exposing bone beneath the ruined flesh. Part of his skull was visible, and blood gushed from countless wounds across his body.
It didn’t matter.
Doluno knew he wasn’t going to survive. He had already accepted that. His only goal now was to take the twins’ group down with him.
