Chapter 4301: Not Exactly
Chapter 4301: Not Exactly
Roan returned to the mainland eight days later, arriving at a watchpost in area QW41, near the country of Dlodal. From there, they simply took one of the airplanes of the Godly Subjugation Guild and made a few connections until they got back to Jufafner Country.
Surprisingly, they got back with another two Anchor Gods. Those two were also part of their group. As mentioned before, eleven Anchor Gods managed to escape the clearing after the Aberration appeared. Roan’s group just happened to find two of those on their way back. It wasn’t hard to believe since they were all moving back to the mainland. As to what happened to the other nine, they had no idea.
In the Godly Subjugation Guild, the leader of their group, Wurshan, went to report everything that happened. The guild took a close look at their Ring Communicator Recordings and saw what that Aberration was about. Without wasting time, they dispatched five Zone Gods to the Carcatira Alligator Territory.
Wurshan eventually returned to Roan and the others, telling them what was decided. "As you know, the missions carry risks, so if we can’t deliver the contents, there is no payment. We obviously got nothing from the marrow because of the aberration. However, the finding of the aberration also carries its own rewards."
"It will depend on whether the Zone Gods can capture it or not. But if they can, we will gain quite a good amount of crystals, probably more than what we were going to gain from the mission itself. We can only hope they can do it," Wurshan concluded.
"What about the Anchor Gods?" Tutyal, another one of the Aura Gods, asked.
Wurshan shook his head in response, though. "I obviously told them about the Anchor Gods trapped in the Aberration’s goo. However, let’s be honest, it would be a miracle if they were still alive by now. The Zone Gods will check what happened when they get there."
"Also, Roan, there is no need to worry about your choices. The guild understood you had to make a call there, and they are actually thankful you did what you did. To prevent any idiotic backlash for abandoning or whatever, the guild will also not disclose these details."
Roan wasn’t worried about it anyway. He couldn’t care less about how people felt about him. "I see."
As for the capture of the Aberration, Roan didn’t really mind whether the Zone Gods succeeded or not. He got a very good experience while outside, which was his main objective. He felt how much the Godly Pressure reduced his strength, especially when its concentration increased because of the Godly Creatures.
With that, he knew where his strength was compared to the challenges. The Carcatira Alligator, for example. Roan managed to lure it all the way to the Godly Predator, especially because it wasn’t a very fast race of Godly Creature. However, if he fought head-on, victory would have been hard to achieve because of the effects of the Godly Pressure. Let’s not forget, Carcatira Alligators are quite strong within their own levels. Roan wasn’t supposed to have the strength to challenge a Godly Beast Alligator in the first place.
"It’s fine. As cultivators, we know that not every single mission will go to plan. The fact that we survived a Godly Predator, and an aberration on top of that, is already more than enough," Tancxana commented. "In any case, thank you all for the support in these last few days, and especially Roan for saving me. I will take my leave now."
Roan nodded slightly. "I only did that because I was confident I could do it. I’m not a saint. If the situation were too dangerous, I would have left."
Tancxana smiled as she walked away. "I said it too, remember? That’s what I would have done regardless of whether I was confident or not: run. Still, you can come look for me if you need something. As long as it isn’t anything ridiculous, I’ll give you a hand to pay for this favor."
Wurshan sighed. "I guess that’s it. I’m also going back to my clan. The guild will inform us if they manage to capture the aberration... if it is still there, that is."
Everyone finally bid their farewells, and Roan made his way back to the Wangamiglia Sect. He was going to spend his time digesting the information of this expedition and passing it to Rean, Celis, and Kentucky through their connection. It was truly very good that all four of them were connected to that extent instead of just Rean and Roan. What one learns can be shared among the four of them.
---
’Alright,’ in his residence, Roan contacted the other three. ’You heard Sister Orb’s quest. We need that Third Eye of the Three-Eyed Raven. Rean, you had most the free time. Did you find anything?’
’Most... the free time?’ Rean felt helpless. ’Do you have any idea how hard it is to teach two Array Masters to the required level for the airplane construction? Besides, there are differences between Arrays and Formations. I had to study quite a lot as well.’
’Did you or did you not?’ Roan completely ignored Rean’s problems.
’Sigh...’ Rean understood that Roan wouldn’t care. ’Yes, I did find something, but you won’t like it.’
Then, Rean used his Ring Communicator to send the source of the information so Roan, Celis, and Kentucky could see it themselves.
The Three-Eyed Raven was quite a rare race. Rean went back a hundred years to look into all the Godly Creature Hordes that occurred during this time, which numbered in the thousands across the entire Besgol Region. The Three-Eyed Raven only appeared twenty-two times, and they were almost always Godly Horrors.
Let’s not forget, Godly Horrors can only be dealt with by Law Gods. When they did appear, losses were usually double or more than usual. Truth be told, the Law Gods were mostly helpless against those Ravens. The only reason they could fight those Ravens at all was that the Ravens had no choice but to enter the Sacred Relic’s Influence, which weakened all Godly Creatures the closer you got.
Only on three occasions was the Three-Eyed Raven a Godly Predator. Even so, they were still annoying to deal with.
Celis took a look at the information and couldn’t help but ask. ’So... there are no Three-Eyed Ravens below the Godly Predator level?’
Rean shook his head. ’Not exactly.’
