Chapter 4280: A Chance

The next events went off without a hitch. The twins’ group and Fonken waited for the Anchor Gods to arrive from the mainland. After that, they once again departed to kill the Godly Beasts they had left behind after killing the Godly Predator.

Of course, there was one last group of Godly Creatures, similar in size to the previous one. That one had 25 Godly Beasts in their rankings, but it wasn’t that big of an issue. The twins and Fonken groups used the same picking off method to get rid of a lot of Godly Spawns, and then separated the Godly Beasts.

On the twins’ side, they used the Yin Yang Sanctuary after making sure no one was watching. As for Fonken’s group, they went for the same Array Trap that Zuary had prepared before.

In the end, the last Godly Creature inside area F17 was taken care of, and the patrols monitoring that place could do their work properly.

Back in the watchpost, Woff saw their departure back to the mainland. "Thank you for your help, friends. Rean, Roan, Kentucky, Celis, you especially. Thanks to you, everything played a lot smoother than I could have ever hoped, and that’s counting the sudden appearance of the Godly Predator."

Celis was just as happy. "It was our mission, and we sure as hell got quite a few Godly Spawns’ and Beasts’ Crystals. Once again, both sides benefited from this."

Woff turned to Fonken. "Friend Fonken, I hope we can meet again in better circumstances."

Fonken nodded slightly, still acting cold. He was a lot warmer to the twins’ group, though. "Since you guys are still quite strong with your crystal void weapons, try to accumulate Godly Crystals as fast as possible. Perhaps we can go on a mission together once you reach the Aura God level."

"Certainly," Rean accepted with a smile.

Finally, they all entered the airplane and made their way back to the Jufafner Country, where the Wangamiglia Sect was located.

Even after losing 30% of the Godly Crystals in taxes, they were still left with 143 Godly Beast Crystals and almost 600 Godly Spawn Crystals. We can’t forget they took down over 20 Godly Creature Groups before Fonken’s group arrived, and all the profit from those killings was theirs and only theirs.

As soon as they arrived, they were called by Flantoihy, the elder in charge of the missions of the sect, the same one who told the twins’ group to go to F17. Not only they, though. Fonken was also called over with Zuary.

In the operation room of the missions hall, Flantoihy was at the center, passing orders as always, when he noticed their arrival. "Good, you are here. Come over."

Flantoihy passed the command to one of his subordinates and focused on the twins’ and Fonken’s groups. "Tell me everything about that Godly Predator. We picked up his signal way too late, and after analyzing the recording we had from you, it felt somewhat weird how it reacted."

Rean and Fonken narrated the events from their perspectives, and, naturally, Rean gave the same excuses as Celis had when Fonken asked the same questions back then.

Flantoihy narrowed his eyes. "That is indeed weird. We checked the Godly Predator Crystal. It was true that it had just become a Predator. Still, the transformation should have given a spike in our readings before it was concluded. Yet, by the time you got there, it was already a done deal."

Fonken thought of something. "I heard the rumors about that guy who was caught in the city, that he was being controlled by Godly Creatures and was able to hide his Godly Pressure. Are you thinking the same issue played out here?"

"Hard to say..." Flantoihy knew the rumors and also the truth. After the security measures were put in place, they wouldn’t be able to hide what happened anyway. That said, Flantoihy also told them everything they knew so far... well, the twins were responsible for it. "The guy who was captured died shortly after. However, we did find some kind of crystal similar to the Godly Creatures’ Crystals that could hide one’s Godly Pressure."

"Did you perhaps catch something similar when you killed that Godly Predator?"

Rean and Fonken shook their heads, and so did their groups. "However, we only brought back the Godly Predator’s head, where the Godly Energy Crystal was located. Could it be that the thing you are looking for was inside the Godly Predator’s body? The Godly Creatures had already eaten it by the time we returned to finish the job."

"That I can’t be certain. It is only a possibility. The only weird thing was that it took too long to detect that Godly Predator inside the Sacred Relic’s Influence, even if he leveled up right there. Perhaps it was just a coincidence, since Area F17 is at the very end of the range," Flantoihy said.

Roan suddenly cut in on the conversation. "This interrogation doesn’t look simple. This is not the only case, is it?"

Flantoihy looked at Roan in surprise. His subordinates nearby also heard that, and they glanced over. They seemed to be in the know, considering their reactions.

Roan continued. "Area F17 is only a small place if you consider the extent of the borders to the Godly Creatures’ Territory. Yes, our regions are tiny specs of sand on the beach in comparison, maybe not even that, but from our perspective, they are still enormous. There are literally hundreds of thousands of kilometers of borders. It is weird that you immediately called us over to discuss this, as it could have been a simple isolated event."

Flantoihy thought for a moment, and in the end, he confirmed Roan’s suspicions. "You are correct. This is not the only event. In fact, this is starting to happen all over the Besgol Region’s borders. Sudden appearance of Godly Predators just as the cleaning groups were about to engage. You were already pretty good, managing to kill your Godly Predators. Most of the cleaning groups, however, weren’t as lucky."

Roan nodded. "And you asked about this so-called crystal that can hide Godly Pressure. Did you find it on the Godly Predators that the other groups killed? Even if the majority failed, some must have been lucky enough to take a few down, or you were able to do so after sending Zone Gods to deal with them."

"You are quite a smart guy," Flantoihy confirmed again. "Indeed. We have been finding the same Godly Pressure Concealing Crystal in these Godly Predators’ bodies. However, they seemed to be much worse than the crystal we found inside that guy who appeared in our city."

"From what we understood, the crystals we found in the Predators only work to hide them for a short while so they can enter the Relic’s Influence without being detected. It will stop working a few days later or if the Predator enters combat."

The twins’ group immediately thought of what Sister Orb said. That they only got the Besgol Region a chance of survival, and it was still uncertain what would happen. From the looks of it, the gears are already moving.
