Death... and me

Chapter 4189: Right?

Chapter 4189: Right?

Nyxara was crossing the void with Rean while the rest of the group simply stayed inside the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm. Because they didn’t take any Great Void Spaceships, they had to rely on normal travel. Fortunately, Nyxara was even faster when travelling through the void, even if she wasn’t anywhere near as fast as when she was at her peak back then.

Nonetheless, going from one Universe to another took time. They had to go to A1, and after checking his CD, Rean could tell they would need at least another half year for Nyxara to get there. Well, that Great Void Merchant Spaceship took three years to cross the same distance, so Nyxara was still much better.

The void contracted and expanded as Nyxara pulled Rean with her. She often had some conversations to help pass the time, but most of the time, they kept silent.

*Zup!*

"Hum?" Suddenly, Rean and Nyxara stopped, much to Rean’s confusion. "Is everything okay?"

He looked at the seal, which simply didn’t move. "Nyxara, are you there?"

No response... It was as if Nyxara’s mind had gone somewhere else.

Rean narrowed his eyes, sending his mind into the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm to talk to the other Primordial Demon Beasts. ’Hey, Nyxara just stopped and isn’t answering me. Do you guys know something?’

However, Rean soon noticed that none of the Primordial Beasts were moving either. ’This is not good. Sister Orb, check them.’

[On it!]

Roan, Celis, Kentucky, Dofrei, Norogal, and Cloe were also told about what was happening.

*Zush!*

Roan came out of the Dimensional Realm, looking at the seal. Then, he touched the seal’s chest and sent some of his Dark Element and Celestial Laws of Darkness inside. He was trying to cause some pain to see if Nyxara would respond. Yet, her expression didn’t even flinch. "She is completely out of it..."

’Same thing here with Laiana,’ Kentucky’s voice came from inside the Dimensional Realm.

’Xyrath isn’t any better,’ Celis added.

[It’s all of th- wait! Come inside!]

Rean and Roan looked at each other and nodded. They touched Nyxara, and since she wasn’t resisting them, she was easily sent into the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm as well. Obviously, they followed.

Inside, everyone who wasn’t a Primordial Demon Beast gathered where Default was residing.

"Y-You are... Ugh... here..." Default said, having a hard time speaking.

Default was the Pillar of Existence, so just before he began to lose himself, he used his Innate Ability to manipulate the existence of everything a few meters around him in all directions. Nonetheless, it was obvious his actions weren’t very efficient.

"What is happening?" Roan asked directly.

"T-The Echo... It’s forcefully controlling our essences and pulling as much power as possible; it is dragging the Primordial Laws from us away," Default explained. He knew the power of The Echo better than anyone there, so he was certain about it.

"Sister Orb, can you block whatever is trying to do it?" Rean asked.

[I wish I could. However, I can’t even feel it. No, to be more specific, I can feel it, but I can’t do anything against it. This is not something our Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm can block.]

Roan wasn’t surprised. "The Echo is present in everything and everywhere, even our thoughts. The Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm is far better at blocking things from outside than normal Dimensional Realms. However, it is meaningless against The Echo, since it is also present here. I guess it is surprising that Default is able to fight against it at all."

Kentucky quickly asked. "Default, what can we do?"

"I... I don’t know. My In-Innate ability can only block it to a certain extent, and I’m... Ugh... I’m going all out just to stay awake." Default went silent for a moment, then continued. "R-Roan, you might be right. Th-The Empire must have a parti-tial control over The Echo. The Echo is barely responding to me."

Roan narrowed his eyes. If the Primordial Demon Beasts inside the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm are like this, it is pretty much guaranteed that the other beasts they sent to help Kentucky’s parents are in the same situation. "Rean, check Ratria and Ploto."

"Already doing it," Rean noticed the same thing as Roan.

Soon, Ratria answered the call. -Rean! Good! Something weird is happening here. Tharos completely stopped moving. Not only him, but also the other Primordial Demon Beasts you sent to help us.-

Rean nodded. "So it also happened to you guys. The Primodial Demon Beasts on our side are having the same issue."

It had been a few months since the twins got Default free, so they obviously had already contacted Ploto and Ratria to tell them everything and that they were on their way.

"Default is using his innate ability to stay awake, but he is certain that The Echo is being controlled to paralyze them and rob them of their essences. Don’t forget, they still carry the Primordial Laws that gave origin to everything," Rean explained.

Ratria got nervous. -Why now?! We just managed to get rid of the Universe Owner and replace him with a new one, all thanks to Tharos and the others.-

Let’s not forget that part of the Bubble Burting Plan was to get control over the F974 by replacing its Universe Owner, who had lost his heart. The powers of F974 were at war long before the twins even arrived in the Werdlem Empire for that same reason.

It was only after Tharos’s addition that things truly began to move forward at a really fast pace, all thanks to his Innate Ability of Stabilization. Once the other Primordial Demon Beasts joined him in F974, the Demon Beasts finally won that war and replaced the Universe Owner with one of their own.

Rean looked at Default. He was the one who knew the most. "What do you think?"

"I... I’m not in a position to answer... Argh... I feel like my con-conciousness will fade at any moment. Ho-However, I can feel The Echo is also tr-trying to resist," Default said with great difficulty.

Roan noticed something. "Your essence is being extracted together with the Primordial Laws, right? Seems like the Werdlem Empire got desperate. Now I’m pretty sure our conjecture that the Empire needed the Primordial Beasts not only to keep the Bubble Running, but also to use their power to control The Echo, was correct."

"The fact that Default is holding back might be our only chance. If he is also lost, we might run into some big trouble. We need to get them out of the Werdlem Empire immediately."

At that moment, Rean had an idea. "You said as long as they are in the Werdlem Empire, right...?"
