Death... and me

Chapter 4080: Pillar of Boundaries

Chapter 4080: Pillar of Boundaries

"Outside?" Rean and the others got confused. "Why are we coming through here then? Wouldn’t it be easier to leave the Universe and approach from outside without alarming anyone?"

Hick opened another Spatial Gate as he spoke. "Unfortunately, the outside is protected by Celestials, two of them on top of that."

They entered the Spatial Gate. During the transfer, Rean inquired more. "You could have told us ahead of time, you know? Since your body is also out, won’t they intervene?"

Kentucky also added on the side. "It will take a few months for me to recover my bloodline power. I don’t think I can fight an Initial Stage Celestial at the moment, let alone a Peak Stage one."

"That’s why we are taking this path," Hick explained.

According to Hick, his body is truly just outside, at the very limit of the barrier between the Great Void and the C44 Universe. If you extended your hand, you could touch Hick’s body outside while you yourself would still be inside.

Regardless, that was a form of protection. In theory, no one should be able to get close to the body from inside C44. The only reason C44 was used at all was that the formations needed a source of power. C44’s Chaos Origin Source was what was being used to power those formations.

Those formations should be able to stop Celestials with ease, and thus, the insides had guaranteed protection. Well, it made sense, considering that the Chaos Origin Source itself was being directly utilized to power those formations.

Not to mention that, other than the Universe Owner, who definitely wouldn’t try to cause trouble for the Werdlem Empire, you wouldn’t see another Celestial in this Universe. How could anyone get through the main formations? Once again, even Celestials wouldn’t be able to, let alone the limit of this Universe, which are Divinities.

The formations that the twins’ group passed through, with Pala’s help, were just some additional formations that weren’t even part of the original plan. They were put there to stop the curiosity of other experts from C44, and that’s why the Zizinda Clan could get through them.

Then you had two secretive Celestials that almost no one knew existed, watching from outside. To make things worse, they were two Balance Breakers who ended up being recruited by the Werdlem Empire instead of killed. So, it wasn’t just their Peak Stage Cultivation, but also the fact that they were definitely stronger than most Peak Stage Celestials. Approaching from outside was truly out of the question.

A Spatial Gate opened, and from inside, the twins’ group came out. The formation ahead was now visible, and they couldn’t continue without finding a way to pass through first. Roan and Celis also came out, their entire group looking at it.

"And this is the gist of it. If we are to have a chance of taking my body back, it has to be from the inside. With the formation also acting outside and those two protecting it, we don’t have much of a choice. The four of you know what it is to be considered Balance Breakers, so don’t expect to be much stronger than them even if you were at the same cultivation level," said Hick.

Roan looked at it, thinking about the quest. ’34000 Celestial Points...’ That reward made him uneasy. That was the highest reward for helping free a Primordial Beast so far.

Then, he turned to Hick. "What else aren’t you telling us?"

Hick was confused. "I told you everything. The insides should be secure, as it should be impossible for anyone to approach my body from inside. If there are enemies, they can’t possibly be stronger than Divinities, but Divinities are just kids for you at the moment."

"Then why do you need our help?" Roan insisted. "If that was all, you could have come alone, right?"

Hick pointed forward. "The formation, obviously. I need you to help me open a passage through it. That’s where your Sister Orb comes in. Now that you are at the Peak Stage of the Divinity Realm, Sister Orb should be able to hack into this Legendary Level Formation. It’s just that it will take time."

*Vup!*

Suddenly, the Control Orb appeared outside. Naturally, Sister Orb was in it [Are you crazy? Unless the guys who built these formations are morons, they definitely left failsafes behind. Even if I manage to hack into this formation ahead, there are likely sensorial formations behind it that only observe. Without being able to get close to them, I can’t stop them from detecting us once I open a path.]

Hick playfully smiled. "Hehe! Don’t worry. You can leave that problem up to me."

Hick suddenly assumed a lotus position in mid-space, closing his eyes for a moment. Then, his face suddenly disappeared, being replaced by nothing but a dark void surrounded by a white crown. Yet, for some reason, the twins’ group felt like he could see them better than ever before. "It is done. While I’m in charge, you can open a passage to the other side. Nothing will be able to detect its opening."

[Errr... and why would that be the case?] Sister Orb didn’t simply believe, obviously. They were talking about something that definitely had the Werdlem Empire’s eyes all over it. She didn’t want them to be caught here.

"I’m the Terminarch, the Pillar of Boundaries. Well, I was... Still, I might only be able to cause simple ripples to the boundaries of the world, but if it is something small, like this formation, I’m more than enough to hide a tiny part of it. I’m connected to my body at the moment, using my innate abilities. In the eyes of everything watching this formation, it will look like the boundaries have never been breached. You could say that for the world itself, a passage was never opened, and it wouldn’t be a lie."

Sister Orb noticed the area Hick talked about. There was something different there, as if it was not what she was seeing. Did the Terminarch separate the planes of this world with planes from his own innate ability? Sister Orb wasn’t sure. In the end, she looked at Roan. [It’s up to you. Do we continue?]

Roan was still skeptical. However, going back now would be meaningless. "Go ahead."
