Chapter 3951: The Judgemental Eye
Chapter 3951: The Judgemental Eye
"You can start with this balance thing. You and Caladara mentioned something related to a Level Six Radiance, and that we showed it during the Judgemental Eye test. What is it about?" Roan asked the first question.
Ximao nodded. "So that’s where you want to start. Very well. However, to explain that, I first need to explain the Judgemental Eye itself. Give me a second."
Ximao took out his CD, calling someone. A few minutes later, another person arrived in the living room of the house. It was Krue’Suan, the other person who was aware of the event.
Krue’Sua noticed the twins’ group and Ximao, but above all, he noticed Caladara wasn’t there. "I’m surprised you are all here still."
Roan and the others didn’t need to think much to understand that Krue’Suan was already in the know since the very start.
As for Ximao, he explained the situation to Krue’Suan. "And that’s why Caladara left, leaving them behind."
Krue’Suan found it hard to believe. "She left after that? Wouldn’t breaking the rules be even worse later?"
"Caladara believes someone in the high echelon is behind their presence here, so she didn’t act," Ximao explained. "They even have real Werdlem Empire IDs. Can you imagine what kind of authority you would need to provide them these IDs?"
"This..." Krue’Suan understood... Well, he actually misunderstood the same thing as Caladara and Ximao, thinking that someone gave those IDs to the twins. "No wonder she didn’t dare to touch them, and you were just lucky that getting rid of you would actually cause more trouble for her."
"Yeah, yeah, yeah... I know that already." Ximao stopped Krue’Suan there. "I called you here not to discuss this, but because I need you to explain the Judgemental Eye’s functions to these guys."
Krue’Suan narrowed his eyes. "Why don’t you do it?"
"Because you know more of the intricacies of that artifact than I," Ximao stated the obvious. "Just do it. There might be something good for you in this."
Krue’Suan sighed in response, nodding in the end. "Whatever. You already got this far anyway. The Judgemental Eye is an artifact created to measure the potential of the various races of the Universe. That much you already know. However, it also has another function. It can detect the presence of Balance Breakers. First, let me explain how the artifact works. It is built with the energy of the Celestial Plane."
But then, he remembered something. "Right, I forgot to ask, do you know about the Celestial Plane?"
Roan and the others nodded. "Yes. We know everything that is needed to reach the Celestial Realm Cultivation. The Celestial Laws that we need to absorb, the fragile barriers between the Celestial Plane and our Plane near the Great Void Blackholes, etc."
(You can check again the Celestial Realm breakthrough requirements from Chapter 3682 up to 3684.)
"Good!" Krue’Suan was happy he didn’t need to explain all of that. "The Judgemental Eye can pull a little bit of the Energy and Celestial Laws of that Celestial Plane and store it over time. It is through the use of this energy and the celestial laws that it can detect the Balance Breakers."
"Once it finds a Balance Breaker, it has two functions. Either kill them straight away or observe them. In the second case, the targets must not leave the observation area, or the Judgmental Eye will activate the Judgment Protocol, sending a Golden Echo to eliminate the targets."
The twins’ group immediately remembered Sister Orb’s words. She guessed that the Golden Echo appeared because they were too far from the Judgemental Eye, and turns out she was right.
[Hell yeah! Am I amazing or what?!] And Sister Orb obviously heard that explanation.
Too bad the twins’ group completely ignored her, focusing on Krue’Suan instead.
"What are the conditions of the two functions?" Roan asked.
"Time!" Which Krue’Suan answered straight away. "Balance Breakers are amazing talents, and eliminating them would be a great loss. However, because they are Balance Breakers, having them all alive won’t work. Thus, there is a time for Balance Breakers to appear."
"The Judgemental Eye has a time cycle of two million years. During two million years, the existence of new Balance Breakers is allowed. Then, during the next two million, any new Balance Breakers must be eliminated. Once that’s over, the previous cycle restarts, and the next two million years will allow the existence of Balance Breakers again. This continues to repeat forever as long as the Eye is still working."
"You guys appeared during the elimination phase, so you were supposed to have been killed by the Judgment Protocol’s Golden Echo. However, because Ximao intervened and even broke the Judgemental Eye, it was not able to summon a Golden Echo straight away. It was forced to switch to the observation mode."
The twins stared at Ximao, realizing why he had acted as he did. He had much to gain after noticing the slight difference in the balance-checking feature of the Judgemental Eye when it assessed their group. However, Caladara’s arrival and the appearance of the Golden Echo were not part of his plans. While he had damaged the Judgemental Eye, he hadn’t broken it enough to prevent the Judgment Protocol from activating once the twins’ group left the observation range. He had genuinely believed that the eye wouldn’t have retained that capability after what he did to it.
Krue’Suan didn’t stop his explanation. "Anyway, Ximao didn’t do a good job, and the Golden Echo appeared after you left the Observation Range. Still, to think you guys could destroy it on your own... I find it very hard to believe. I’m more inclined to believe the Golden Echo’s capabilities were impaired due to the damage to the Eye."
The twins’ group could see that happening. After all, the Golden Echo that they fought was very strong, but also very dumb. It may not have been the real deal.
"Alright," Roan understood everything to that point. "So, why is there an Observation Mode? You said that during that two-million-year cycle, a Balance Breaker is allowed to continue to live. Still, the breaker must stay within the Eye’s Observation Range, or the Eye will send a Golden Echo to kill the Breaker. Also, just what the hell is a Balance Breaker? What is so bad about them that they must be killed during the elimination cycle?"
"I was getting there," Krue’Suan organized his thoughts. "Now that you know what the Judgemental Eye, the Judgment Protocol, and Golden Echo are, it is better if I explain what a Balance Breaker is first. Then I can talk about the Observation Mode and why it allows them to stay alive inside that other two-million-year cycle."
