Chapter 3873: Pretty Good Job

Roan went straight back to where the elders of the Hazin Clan were waiting, not giving any recruiters the chance to talk to him. There, he was received by Ruriklin once again. In fact, Tanxan was also there. "You got here pretty fast."

"When we were teleported back, I just so happened to be teleported closer to them," Tanxan explained.

Ruriklin smiled at them and a few others who made it through the survival test. "You all did great. Have any of you been approached by the other powers before you got here?"

Most shook their heads, but two of the clan’s direct descendants nodded. "We were. The Hlojothen Organization said they will go to the Hazin Clan after the gathering to talk to our parents."

Ruriklin and the other elders narrowed their eyes. This time around, their Hazin Clan was actually doing pretty good, and that wasn’t just because of Roan and Tanxan. In total, almost twenty members of their team managed to get through the first phase. That was a great outcome compared to most of the other times they took part in the gathering.

"They did, uh?" Ruriklin’s eyes turned in another direction. He couldn’t see them due to the enormous crowd in front of his eyes, but his Divine Sense definitely could. They were the Hlojothen entourage, including their higher-ups. "Those guys truly never give up, now do they?"

Then, he turned back to his clan’s participants. "Just ignore them from now on. The Hlojothen organization is fairly bigger than our Hazin Clan, but if we talk about the focus we put on our best members, then we definitely aren’t any worse. I hope no one here will betray the clan."

The kids nodded while Roan just kept silent with Tanxan.

But then, Ruriklin’s Divine Sense Message reached them. ’The two of you caught a lot more attention, but Hlojothen likely understood that stronger powers would come to look for you. That’s why they didn’t try to approach you. I won’t tell you to not accept their offer, though.’

Roan and Tanxan didn’t mind. ’We won’t be moving away from the clan, at least not now. Unless, of course, your clan also has something good to gain from it.’

Ruriklin was taken aback. He could see that Roan understood the hidden meaning in his words. ’So you caught that, uh? Are you two really that young? Anyway, yes, I won’t deny it. You did way better than any of us expected, and the other elders already talked to the Clan Leader about it. There is a very good chance someone from the top ten powers will come looking for you. However, since we are a clan, they won’t really talk to you directly like the Hlojothen Organization did. Instead, they are likely to send representatives to talk to us, the elders, or the clan leader.’

’So...’ Tanxan considered those words. ’Does that mean if the clan receives a good enough proposition, we might be given away, is that it?’

’Yes,’ Ruriklin confirmed. ’Personally, I would rather have you guys staying with us, but I don’t have the final say. Back in our Boscar Country, we have the Lendan Royal Family, which is one of the top ten powers of the Surute Region, and obviously, the one that controls our country. If they are the ones to come knocking on our doors about you two, I’m afraid I can’t stop this deal from going through.’

Ruriklin sighed after that. ’Well, all in all, I can’t say it would be a bad deal for you two either. The Lendan Royal Family has a significant presence on the continent as a whole, and being part of it means having contact with the broader context. With your talents, perhaps our clan truly isn’t the best choice. It’s just that I don’t like this idea of giving up our best talents for the sake of benefits. Anyway, we will see.’

Roan and Tanxan exchanged glances, realizing they shared a mutual agreement with Ruriklin on this matter. However, they also recognized that if the Royal Family pursued them, it could benefit Roan’s ambitions of gaining fame as they ’get stronger’ in A1. Their time with the Hazin Clan was always intended to be brief, but it might end up being even shorter than they anticipated.

Having that in mind, Roan contacted the rest of his group. ’How many of you got offers to join these top ten powers?’

’I believe we all did,’ Rean commented. ’In my case, the Bautuk Sect reached me first, but there were two more after them.’

’Oh, you too?’ Foliana joined. ’The Bautuk Sect also got to me, and they intend to take my contract away from the Korko Sect.’

’For me, it was the Pengen Beast Alliance,’ Kentucky commented.

Different from back in the Lisan Universe, the Divine Realm of A1 didn’t really have land separations between races. You could find big powers of Spirits, Demon Beasts, Humanoids, and others pretty much everywhere. So, the Surute Region also had its own Influential Demon Beasts, which were part of the Top Ten and considered to be an alliance.

The difference was that the Pengen didn’t have a set headquarters. As Demon Beasts, they were naturally a lot more lacking in these regards. At the moment, the best place to go talk to them was in the Country of Farcil, but it would eventually change again.

’Very well,’ Roan nodded. ’There is no need to refuse them. If you see there is a bigger opportunity, just grab it. In fact, that is even better. Inside these powers, we would find many more of those geniuses, making it easier to blend in. Just make sure to keep the same arrangement. Zangeshu, Tanxan, and Foliana must stay together with Celis, Kentucky, and me. As for the idiot, no one cares, so he can do whatever he wants.’

Rean quickly struck back. ’First, fuck you! Secondly, the kid I’ve been assisting has also been approached by the Bautuk Sect. Turns out I helped him a little too much, and he caught even more attention than we did since we were holding back. However, since the Bautuk Sect is closer to Enrel City, he is considering their offer and wants me to accompany him.’

’That also can do,’ Roan nodded. ’Alright, if you guys need help with these recruitment, just ask the idiot to use his soul power to make it easier for your duo to go together. Other than that, the plan continues the same. Win everything, but just don’t make it look too ridiculous. We’ve all been doing a pretty good job so far.’
