Death... and me

Chapter 3819: Not Concerned

Chapter 3819: Not Concerned

To be more specific, the twins could see that Galaxy that wasn’t shown in any of the Werdlem Network Starcharts. However, they weren’t inside yet. The entire Galaxy was surrounded by a protective formation that didn’t allow anyone to enter. The only exceptions were the Universe Owner and some higher-ups in the Light of the Provider Religion. Well, they were all just more directly connected Werdlem Empire subordinates.

Why so tight? A galaxy was still something enormous, and counting everyone who could enter the protection formation, not even ten experts were included. There were Werdlem Universe entourages that came to check how things were going, but they would only stay for a few years and not come back for countless others.

That said, fewer than ten experts were just not enough. How do you check on an entire galaxy with just that amount? The point was, they didn’t. The core of the corrupted system was located at the very center of that galaxy, well, close to it, and the rest was pretty much just a buffer. The buffer acted as countless extra layers of protection and detection, stopping everyone from even getting a sniff of the Corrupted System Core.

So, what they needed to check was actually only the Corrupted System at the center and nothing else.

As Pudarg brought everyone with him, Rean talked to the rest of the group inside the Dimensional Realm. ’How is it, Sister Orb?’

[Forget about hacking into any of the formations inside that galaxy. We are still pretty far from the protection barrier, but I can already tell you. This shit is made with many different layers, each one acting independently but connected.]𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎

Rean, Zangeshu, and Tanxan could see the problem. ’If you hack into a formation and make any alteration, the other layers will notice the difference, and an alarm will be issued.’

[Exactly,] Sister Orb confirmed. [The only possible way to hack and open a gap for Rean to enter is if I can hack into all the formations in this galaxy at once. That is absolutely not something our system can do. Besides, there isn’t a single layer that isn’t at least at the Divine Level. You can be certain that the main layers and cores are all in the Legendary Level.]

Roan narrowed his eyes. ’That said, the only way we can enter it is if someone lets us inside, is that correct?’

[Pretty much.]

That obviously wouldn’t work. First of all, the only one they were certain had the permission to get close to the core was the Universe Owner. Could they convince the Universe Owner to bring them there? Ha! It was easier to kill the guy instead, and that was already impossible with the twins’ group’s strength.

Find some of the other experts who are allowed to get inside? It would be a miracle if any of them isn’t at least a Semi-Celestial. They wouldn’t be as dangerous as the Universe Owner, Kunprio, but they would be much stronger than the Level Three Umbras, that’s for sure. So, it also wouldn’t work.

’Wait, that doesn’t make sense.’ Zangeshu noticed a problem. ’Regardless of how incredible a formation is, it is prone to wearing over time. A formation like this, which encompasses an entire galaxy and has so many layers, is bound to get some issues now and then.’

’Which means there is a need to bring Formations Masters into the Formation every time maintenance is necessary, is that what you mean?’ Rean asked.

’Yes,’ which Zangeshu confirmed. ’Could we make use of these settings?’

Celis couldn’t help but comment. ’We are talking about high Divine Level Formations and even Legendary Level ones. I’m not a Formations Master, but I believe Legendary Leve Runes need at least a Semi-Celestial Level expert to craft them, no?’

Rean confirmed. ’Yes, but it would be quite a loss to Semi-Celestials to do it, actually. Legendary Level Formations tap into the Celestial Laws to craft the Runes. To reliably craft Legendary Level Runes, you’d better be a Celestial Realm Expert. Of course, with so many Semi-Celestials in this Universe, you can make up for their lack of cultivation by sheer number of experts. In fact, that is most likely the case here.’

[Alright, that’s to say, we definitely won’t find anyone below the Semi-Celestial Level being allowed inside to fix the formations, is that what you mean?]

’It’s not 100% guarantee...’ Rean thought about it. ’After all, if it is only the Divine Level Formations that need maintenance, a Divinity Realm Formations Master should be able to deal with them.’

’All this conversation is going nowhere,’ Roan pointed out. ’Even if we find Divinity Realm Experts who can enter the formation, we can’t take their places. Our cultivation would be too low to pretend to be them. It is even more impossible in the case of Semi-Celestials.’

The group went silent when, suddenly, something happened in front of Rean.

Out of nowhere, a giant ray of light shot from inside the galaxy, passing not too far from his group outside. No, it didn’t suddenly appear. It was there from the very start. It’s just that Rean was so focused on the conversation with the others that he only noticed it now. The power behind it was enormous, and even the Divinity Realm Experts there narrowed their eyes. No one would dare get close.

"Alright, those in the Space-Time Realm, this is your post," said Pudarg, their Semi-Celestial guide. "You will patrol this area for the duration of your contract, according to how many years you agreed on. Once your contract time is over, just contact the command center through the Werdlem Network. Remember, don’t get close to the protection formation around the galaxy. You won’t survive to tell the story."

Many of the Space-Time Realm experts immediately complained. "Sir, this is too much! That thing could potentially-"

"Why the hell do you think we would pay Space-Time Realm experts so much?" Pudarg cut in. "If you don’t want it, you can leave right away. There are plenty of Space-Time Realm experts wanting to take your place."

The Space-Time Realm experts had terrible expressions, while those in the Divinity Realm snorted. Some of the Divinity ones had worked here before, so they knew why it was so dangerous.

However, there was one Space-Time Realm expert who didn’t look concerned. In fact, his eyes were shining like the stars as he looked at the ray of light.

’A Quasar!’

Naturally, that was Rean!
