Chapter 3738: Not Out Loud
Chapter 3738: Not Out Loud
Roan didn’t even bother retorting to Rean and Kentucky.
Of course, Ratria and Ploto had no idea Roan was a Death Spirit before, as explaining his transformation into a human would include the system. "What do you mean?"
"It was just a joke," Rean shrugged. "Roan is so emotionless that he isn’t much different from a dead body; thus, we were always close to death."
"I see..." Ratria didn’t know what to say about that, so she didn’t comment. "Anyway, why don’t you tell me more about how you acquired a Celestial Bloodline. Some details seem a little too vague in your story."
Kentucky shook his head in response. "Unfortunately, I can’t say much more than what I did. It’s not that I don’t trust you, but that it is complicated. For now, just knowing how to become a Celestail Realm Expert in the normal way should be enough for you."
Ratria, Ploto, and Frife heard that part. "The normal way seems way too unlikely to happen for pretty much anyone in a Rank F Universe."
"And yet, I’m going after it," Kentucky spoke with confidence. "It wouldn’t make sense to give up now that I have everything except the black hole."
Roan finally spoke from there. "And that’s why we are leaving. Since this plan of killing the Universe Owner will take tens of thousands of years, we might as well look for another way. It seems that the Celestial Realm is what is necessary to go to where Triaglia did."
Kentucky told his family about their encounter with Victor and the little clue that if they could go to the same place as Triaglia, they would have a better chance of leaving the Werdlem Empire’s Bubble. Victor could have delivered them to the Werdlem Empire any time he wanted, but he didn’t, so Roan considered it worth trying to see what Victor meant with that.
"I won’t allow that!" Ratria wasn’t the least bit happy, though. "Do you think I will just sit by and see you try to travel around the Werdlem Empire. I don’t know how protected these Great Void Black Holes are, but I’m sure you will be suiciding if you try to get close without permission. Stay here and wait for us to create the channel."
Frife agreed with his mother. "Mom is right. I don’t like you, but this ability of yours to transform into other appearances and even change your Werdlem ID would be of immense importance in our war too. You could literally capture some big shot in the Ermmel Clan, enter their territory, and find where the Universe Owner is located for us. We have our methods, but the addition of your cards would definitely be a game changer."
The twins’ group didn’t explain how they could copy the IDs, but they at least said it was possible.
"Kentucky, tens of thousands of years might look like a lot, but it actually isn’t," Ratria insisted. "You have an infinite lifespan. You will see. Just lie down, close your eyes, and sleep. It will be over in the blink of an eye. Other than me, Minokawas love this kind of thing, and you seem very like your father in this regard. This idiot here also would sleep all day long if he could."
Ploto smiled. "I’m just being real."
That made Rean notice one thing. "Kentucky became like his father... Frife-Ni, on the other hand, doesn’t seem the lazy type at all. Guess he took after his mother."
Frife-Ni nodded. "Fortunately, that is indeed the case."
Ploto and Kentucky looked at them. They couldn’t see what was so good about putting all that effort into everything.
Rean had an idea. "In that case, let’s trade. We will leave Kentucky and bring Frife-Ni with us instead."
Kentucky couldn’t help but grow excited. "Now that I think about it... Yes! I don’t really need to care about cultivation! Yes! Frife-Ni, take your Big Brother’s place. I’m staying. Hahaha!"
*Pang!*
*Ouch!*
Yet, Roan kicked the back of his head. "Your ass! If you don’t cultivate, we can’t cultivate either, idiot!" He also looked at Rean. "And you, stop giving us more trouble."
"Oh, right... There is that..." Kentucky’s excitement died straight away. Roan would never let him lie down that easily.
Rean just laughed, though. He obviously knew that from the start. "Hahaha! But it was funny seeing Kentucky’s reaction. You just don’t know how to play."
The other three Minokawas were puzzled as ever. "What do you mean you can’t cultivate if he can’t?"
Kentucky then explained, leaving out the system part. "I can’t go into much detail, but Rean, Roan, Celis, and I are connected to each other. It goes beyond just feeling each other’s presence and such. Even our cultivation is shared. You could say one of the reasons, definitely the main one, for my cultivation to improve so fast is because of Celis’s World Swallowing Cedar’s incredible innate energy absorption abilities."
They knew Celis, even if they hadn’t seen him yet. "Shared cultivations... Is that even possible?"
"It is not all that rare, now is it?" Rean shrugged. "There are a few races, although rare, where they have a cultivation synbiosis. It’s easier to find some examples in the Spirit Races, for example. It’s just that ours are a little more complex."
[A little more is a huge understatement...]
Rean completely ignored Sister Orb’s words.
Still, Ratria, Ploto, and Frife could accept that connection. After all, as Divine Demon Beasts, they also knew about the connection that a Divine Demon Bird could create with a Divine Demon Plant. Celis just happened to be one of such. In fact, they considered Kentucky very luck to have found one for himself.
"Then I’m going with you," Ratria still didn’t want to let Kentucky go.
However, this time Kentucky spoke seriously. "No can do. I’m sorry, Ratria, Ploto, but you would only be a burden. Besides, you are obviously connected to these runes in this floating land. You said you could swap with someone else, right? However, can you really do that without any repercussions?"
Ratria didn’t like it, but Ploto answered before she did. "No. Doing such a swap would delay the accumulation of energy by a huge margin, and it could even cause some undesired side effects. Worst case, everything might break apart."
"Ploto!" Ratria yelled at him.
Yet, he was adamant. "Even if we had our own agenda, we put all the Demon Beasts of this Universe in this situation. I’m lazy, but I’m not ungrateful. How many died, and how many are putting their lives on the line for this chance, all because WE convinced them to do so?"
Ratria opened her beak, but no words came out.
"He is all grown-up, Ratria," Ploto explained. "He knows how to take care of himself already. He doesn’t need us anymore."
Rean and Roan looked at each other. Kentucky knows how to take care of himself? Since when? How come they didn’t know that? Of course, they didn’t say that out loud.
