Death... and me

Chapter 3584: That’s How It Is

Chapter 3584: That’s How It Is

"A portal?" Celis found it strange, changing his words to Divine Sense so Elsie and Royer wouldn’t hear it. ’Didn’t Sister Orb say everything related to Spatial Gates, Portals, and Teleportation didn’t work in this Golden Palace? We can’t even enter the Dimensional Realm.’

[I did,] Sister Orb answered that herself. [But we aren’t the owners of this place, are we? What stops its creators from making exceptions in certain parts of the Golden Palace? When Rean builds a restrictive formation, he often adds himself and the rest of his companions as exceptions to the formations’ restriction rules. The same thing must have been done here.]

’I see...’ Celis had to admit Sister Orb made sense.

"Are you sure it will bring us to the next region?" Roan asked Royer directly.

And Royer shook his head. "Nothing is 100% sure in this place. But, during the times I came here, a portal always meant a connection to the next region. Oh, just so you know, it doesn’t need to be always a portal. You might simply walk into a new region, and that’s it. The difference is that portals usually bring you further inside the next region instead of starting from the beginning."

"Sigh..." Rean felt helpless. "Now that I think about it, what if we had simply selected a different color Waterfall and tried what Kentucky did in the first door? Wouldn’t we have avoided everything?"

Elsie narrowed her eyes. "That means we would have missed this idiot master of mine. Also, you wouldn’t acquire a Medallion."

"Well... that’s true," Rean nodded. "I guess the idiot master and the medallion is a good bonus worthy of the effort."

Royer felt more and more like everyone was losing respect for him. "You are luck I’m weak because of my Rock Shell Manifestation."

Elsie snorted at him. "So you are saying you were confident you could beat any of them if you were at the peak of your power? Even though everyone’s cultivation is suppressed in the Transition Realm?"

Royer looked away. "Ahem... What are we waiting for? Let’s go!" Then, he quickly jumped into the portal. Confident? After what he saw? What a joke! If he was enemies with the twins’ group, the first thing he would do was run!

Rean and the others laughed, and they followed Royer into the portal.

The space around them warped, and their vision turned blurry. It only lasted a second, and when everything came back to normal, they found themselves inside a fiery red room. It wasn’t a color from paint but the color of hot material. The temperature in that room skyrocketed compared to before.

*Tssss...*

*Ouch!*

Kentucky quickly drove his Divine Energy to his feet, protecting them from the intense heat below. "This place is hot as hell!"

"We have other concerns at the moment, though," Roan spoke, his Element Intent Scythes appearing in his hands. Rean and the others also were on high alert as they looked around. They weren’t the only ones there.

On the right, there was a group of eight cultivators with White Color Light on their chests, experts from the F954 Universe. On the left, there were six with Purple Lights, a sign they came from Universe F950. Finally, just slightly ahead, Red Light could be seen on the chests of nine experts, definitely beings from Universe F949.

Counting with the twins’ group, that room now had exactly thirty experts from various races. The three groups who got here ahead of the twins seemed to be working together, but just with the members of their own groups, creating three barriers to protect themselves from the intense heat. They didn’t seem to be in a mood to attack anyone.

*Ugh...*

Rifindio began to feel something entering his body, something he couldn’t understand. Yet, he could feel the harm increasing in his body. However, Rean identified it instantly. "Shield yourselves. The Yang Energy of this place is harmful to the body." No one there understood more about Yang Energy than Rean.

The experts from the other three groups looked at Rean in surprise. When they arrived here, no one told them what the problem was, and they took a while to understand what they had to fight against. Simply creating a barrier of Divine Energy wasn’t enough. They had to focus on the Yang Energy of the environment, and only then did they manage to stop the harmful process.

"Well, look at who it is, the big-butt bird!" One of the guys from Universe F954, with White Light, spoke. He was a Spirit that went by the name Shonror. Within his group, he was one of three Peak Stage Divinity Realm experts. The other five were all in the Divinity Realm as well, although they were in the Middle and Initial Stages instead.

Someone else from F950, the Purple Light Experts, also joined. "I didn’t expect to have the chance to fry that bird so soon. And guess what! We are in the perfect place to have it grilled." Her name was Sesahi, an Eight-Tailed Fox Demon Beast. She, too, was in the Divinity Realm Peak Stage, together with another member of her group who was at that same level. The other four guys, all demon beasts, were in the Divinity Realm Late, Middle, and Initial Stages.

"Stop that already," said an old man with a spiked gray hair. The Red Light on his and his companion’s chests showed they were from Universe F949. As for his name, it was Meconth. Just like the other two leaders, he was also in the Peak Stage of the Divinity Realm. His group, however, was the only one with a Space-Time Realm expert within, although just one guy, who was at the Peak Stage. The rest were also in the Divinity Realm, one in the Peak Stage and six in the Middle Stage.

The other two, Sesahi and Shonror, obviously wouldn’t take orders from someone from another Universe. However, Meconth gave them a reason for it. "Did you forget? We need the numbers, or we won’t be able to leave this place. Or could it be you all want to fry in this place?"

"Numbers?" The twins’ group was puzzled... until they looked further ahead. "So that’s how it is."
