Death... and me

Chapter 3563: Roan Finishes the Words

Chapter 3563: Roan Finishes the Words

"I do?" The guy narrowed his eyes.

Rean nodded, explaining. "Look at us here. We are a bunch of Elemental Space Realm experts with just a single Space-Time Realm in our midst. When we ran away, what did you think? Obviously, you thought we were running because we were ’afraid’ that we would be pushed into the lake too, right?"

"This..." Neither the guy nor his companions could refute Rean’s words. That was exactly what they thought, exactly what everyone thought!

Rean shrugged. "So you see, even if we had told you an explosion would follow, would you really believe us? No, you wouldn’t. So, why waste time speaking?"

Roan added his piece. "Also, were it you, would you have warned anyone?"

Those experts from F954 Universe went silent. Warn the others? Ha! What a joke! The less competition, the better. They are here to try to find out how the Universe Owners reached the Celestial Realm in this place, after all.

"Fine, I will admit you are right," the guy finally relented. "I’m Fescan, and these here are the guys who paid me for the extra slots I had in my portrait." Turns out those five weren’t really friends to start with either.

Rean smiled at them. "Nice to meet you all. Now, about how we found out there would be an explosion. There isn’t much of a secret there. We just pieced two and two together. The moment that guy was pushed into the lake, we saw his body breaking apart, like the other body parts we saw in the lake when we arrived, right? Since that was the case, it was obvious that it wasn’t the explosion that killed the experts who had arrived there before we did; it was the lake that killed them. Since the lake did that, what caused the first explosion that lured us there? There is only one answer to it."

Fescan wasn’t an idiot, able to piece the clues together. "Their cores and dantians. Our cultivation is suppressed to the Transition Realm, but it doesn’t mean our cores and dantians have become empty. They are still full of energy as everyone is trying to keep themselves in tip-top condition for any challenges that might come ahead."

Rean nodded, ending his excuse... Too bad that was a lie. Did he really think all of that? No fucking way! He thought of that excuse on the way out, as he knew the survivors would come after them to ask. The one who noticed an explosion was coming was Celis. Even in that murky water where Divine Sense couldn’t penetrate, Celis immediately saw how the lake sucked all the energy from that Space-Time Realm expert.

He didn’t need Divine Sense for that with his Major Laws of Absorption. He saw how the lake water concentrated it all into a ball of chaotic energy, which began to float to the surface. At that moment, he understood what truly caused the first explosion that lured everyone there. Then, he told everyone to run away, and no one would ever doubt Celis in their group.

Nonetheless, it was a flawless excuse that explained pretty well why they ran, even if it was a lie. Fescan sighed, looking back in the lake’s direction. Well, they were outside the 30-kilometer clean area of the lake, so all they could see at the moment was smoke and dust spreading everywhere. They couldn’t even see much around themselves at the moment.

"So that’s how it happened, uh?" Another voice echoed in their ears, and a group of experts arrived where they were.

This one didn’t seem very reasonable, though. It was the group from the guy who threatened the twins’ group earlier, telling them to go ahead and check the lake for him... which Roan completely refused to do. He was Ferdi, an expert from Universe F953, indicated by his Blue Light. There weren’t ten members in his group anymore, though. Only four remained, and one seemed quite injured.

"Hum?" Roan glanced at him, snorting. "What, did you come here to blame us?"

Ferdi was indeed furious. There weren’t many experts around at the moment, so this was his chance to get back at the twins’ group. "You there, from Universe F954. Are you going to intervene?"

Fescan shrugged, turning around and stepping away. Rean’s warning saved him, but that didn’t mean he would put his life on the line to protect them. "They are all yours. Hey, kids, if you survive, look for me later. I can make good use of smart guys like you." And so, Fescan kept his distance. He and his group would rather recover from their injuries, and watching the show while doing it didn’t seem that bad.

Ferdi and his group looked at the twins as if they were already dead. In his eyes, the humiliation they had suffered earlier in front of all the experts and the fact that they couldn’t make a move were unacceptable. He approached slowly, speaking in derision. "Say goodbye to this-"

"Goodbye!" Ferdi didn’t finish his words; Roan did. Roan’s body exploded with laws, intent, and sky energy. Even space power gathered, as the twins were able to use Spatial Power in the Transition Realm back then, and it wasn’t different now. His scythes appeared, and he slashed out. Ferdi truly underestimated the twins’ group, and he even got himself that close to Roan... Truly, that was the worst and last idea he would have in his life!

’Red Death, Death Cross!’

Roan’s new technique appeared once again. Ferdi was taken aback. Roan’s speed surpassed anything he imagined someone was capable of in this place. He gathered his laws and Divine Origin Energy in the last moment, pulling his weapon out of his Spatial Ring. Still, how could such a last-minute measure be of any use? He tried to counter that power with his Fifth Stage of Saber Intent, but we all know what the Fifth Stage could do against the Sixth Stage... nothing!
