Chapter 235 - Paternity Test
Chapter 235: Paternity Test
“Bullshit! These are all bullshit! You are my biological son! I have done a paternity test to prove it! Who dares to say that you are not my son! I will kill them!” Old Master Jing was thoroughly enraged. He seemed to have blurted out something new when he was enraptured by fury.
The father and son looked at each other and said nothing.
Old Master Jing eventually spoke first. “Jing Tian, I am just human, a man with his sins. I-I just want to verify the truth so that those people would be silenced. It is why I have done the test in secret and didn’t tell you and your mother about it. I am afraid that if I did, it would hurt your mother’s heart.”
Jing Tian’s voice was light. “But this won’t hurt her?”
“Isn’t this all your fault? Leave then! The two of you just want to leave me behind and leave the Jing Family. You two are heartless! You’re exactly the same!” Old Master Jing gripped his heart as he fell.
Jing Tian was finally moved. He hurried over and took out a pill bottle from his father’s pocket. He tossed a pill out and fed it to his father. “Why are you torturing yourself over this?”
…
I silently retreated and went to find Gao Da. “Where is Jing Tian’s mother?” I asked directly.
Gao Da was stunned. Then he had a complex expression on his face.
“I overheard them arguing, but it’s fine now,” I reported the results of my eavesdropping.
Gao Da nodded. “The old master won’t really get into an actual argument with Master Qi. Master Qi knows that too. Miss, I am afraid someone is manipulating this situation behind your back. It is why the old master is so averse towards you.”
I nodded. “I want to know why Jing Tian’s mother isn’t here.”
Gao Da thought for a while and finally answered, “Madam is on a small island in the southern hemisphere. The weather there is more suitable for her. The old master often goes there to accompany her. Master Qi also goes there once a year.”
“Is she sick? Why isn’t she at M City?” I was curious. I could tell that Old Madam Jing was very important to both Old Master Jing and Jing Tian. She was the balance between the two men. They built their relationship around her. Once there was an imbalance, one side would try to negotiate the balance again. That person was usually Old Master Jing.
Gao Da nodded. “Yes.”
“Then why is she on an island?” I asked. “I doubt the medical standard of an island can be better than a big city.”
Gao Da pointed at his head. “Because her illness is all up here.”
“It’s her mind that is sick?” I asked.
Gao Da nodded again. “She doesn’t like to meet people so she lives on the island. The old master spends half of the year by her side.”
I was impressed. “They must be very close.”
Gao Da smiled wryly and didn’t say anything.
I was a little confused, but I was very interested in this lady.
She was Jing Tian’s mother. I looked forward to meeting her.
I heard a voice coming from upstairs. Old Master Jing was leaving.
I quickly hid. Gao Da looked at me in confusion. I placed my finger on my lips. Gao Da accompanied Jing Tian to walk his father out. I slipped away unnoticed back to my home.
Halfway to the door, I was caught by Jing Tian who was waiting for me. “You’ve learned how to eavesdrop? Who taught you that?” He asked me with a dark expression.
I looked at Gao Da resentfully. How can you sell me out, Brother Gao Da?
Jing Tian pulled my face back. “Do you think he’s the snitch?”
He tapped my chest. “Your breathing was as loud as a bellow. You should be thankful that my father is old and his hearing is not so well!”
So he knew I was outside all alone!
I hugged him. “I was worried that you’d be scolded because of me.”
I sounded like a duck.
