Chapter 1763 The Dark Comet
Chapter 1763 The Dark Comet
Far below the floating fortress, both Dame and Kelly looked up from the ruined rooftop, their breath catching in their throats. They could physically feel the , suffocating amount of power that was rapidly building up in the heavens above them.
It almost looked as if a highly condensed, unnatural black storm cloud had violently formed in the upper atmosphere. Clearly, it was an ocean of pure Dark Magic gathering. But it wasn’t just Dark Magic that was building up; there was a , torrential amount of refined Qi swirling within the storm as well. The two completely distinct, world-breaking power systems were flawlessly and aggressively combining together into one singular, terrifying point.
“I remember telling him a very long time ago,” Dame said, a proud, bloodstained smile crossing his pale face as his weak voice trembled.
He knew logically that his hybrid healing meant he would live through this fatal wound, but that biological fact didn’t stop him from enduring the agonizing feeling of constantly dying.
“I told him back then… that if he ever somehow managed to truly master the Ten Steps, then he could easily become the strongest person in the entire world,” Dame whispered, his eyes locked onto the swirling black vortex in the sky. “Are you trying to prove my theory right this exact second… Raze Cromwell?”
Up on the floating stone platform, Idore continued to frantically fight with the remaining Crimson Crane members below the clouds. It wasn’t as if the Grand Magus was being physically overpowered in terms of raw magic, but because there were so many of them fiercely attacking at once, and their weapons possessed highly varied levels of strength and unpredictable techniques, Idore was genuinely struggling to hold his ground.
At one point, Idore saw an opening. He gathered a lethal charge of high-tier Lightning magic in his single good hand, fully intending to violently strike and vaporize one of the Pagna warriors. But Line reacted with blinding speed. He managed to break through the elemental crossfire, throwing his durable combat wraps forward. The cloth wrapped tightly around Idore’s forearm, violently jerking the arm away at the absolute last second. The redirected lightning bolt crashed harmlessly into the stone ground below, leaving a scorched, smoking crater instead of a corpse.
And that’s exactly when the Crimson Crane could universally feel it. The oppressive air pressure completely vanished. Raze was finally ready.
Without needing to communicate, Kizer, Alba, Liam, B, Line, and Amir all immediately broke their engagements and rapidly moved far away to the edges of the platform at the exact same time.
Idore, seeing them retreat, aggressively raised his hand, fully ready to strike them in the back with a barrage of Fire magic. But then, his heightened senses finally picked up exactly what was happening above him.
“What… what in the world is this?” Idore gasped, the fire dying in his palm as he stared straight up into the sky with his mouth wide open.
High above the cloud line, Raze had been flawlessly performing a miraculous sequence of arts. He had aggressively gathered absolutely all of his remaining Dark magic, meticulously adjusting and stacking all of the complex formations that would help him achieve maximum output.
First, he initiated the Eighth Formation, spreading an absolute, heavy darkness around him. Next, he layered the Eclipse Strike, heavily coating both of his weapons in a dense, destructive aura. Then, he activated the Abyssal Strike, which granted him the , shadowy wings that exponentially enhanced his aerodynamics and speed.
Lastly, with all of these magical multipliers stacked perfectly together, he needed to add his strongest, most devastating physical strike to the equation: the Void Pulse.
All of this combined together created a terrifying payload. But there was only one final thing he needed to add to push the attack beyond the absolute limits of the world, and that was the exponential kinetic increase of his Qi. And the absolute best martial art technique to achieve all of that in mid-air… was the Ten Descending Steps.
As he rapidly built up all of the violent energy, stepping off the invisible platforms of Qi in the sky, he was finally ready.
Raze was now soaring down through the skies like a catastrophic dark comet. He held his legendary sword tightly right by his waist, the apocalyptic fusion of pure Dark magic and concentrated Qi building up violently behind the blade, forming a slipstream of pure destruction.
Idore, seeing this world-ending attack bearing down on him, desperately lifted up his single hand. The hoarded dimensional rings on his fingers started to glow with blinding, blinding intensity. Sacrificing the priceless artifacts within, several giant, glowing magical shields started to instantaneously appear, layering themselves heavily between him and the falling Raze in the air.
“YOU WILL NEVER REACH ME, RAZE! I PREPARED THESE ARTIFACTS FOR THEM! I AM LOOKING FAR BEYOND YOU!” Idore screamed, his voice cracking with pure, unadulterated terror as the dark comet blotted out the sun.
Then, Raze hit the first shield.
At the exact microsecond of impact, Raze detonated the Void Pulse. Kicking off from his foot and violently pushing his sword hand forward, the combined, apocalyptic power pierced right through the center of all of the legendary shields as if they were made of fragile glass. His entire body followed the blade, completely shattering the barriers into a million useless shards of light, and then he landed with devastating precision directly onto Idore.
The dark sword crashed brutally into the Grand Magus’s body, piercing cleanly through his chest and out his stomach.
The sheer, immeasurable kinetic power of Raze’s falling momentum drove Idore entirely through the air, sending both of them violently crashing into the solid stone ground.
BOOM!
The catastrophic impact created a , devastating crater in the center of the platform. A terrifying, supersonic shockwave was sent ripping out in all directions, shattering the remaining pillars and violently throwing the Crimson Crane members off their feet.
The sheer magnitude of the explosive power shook the foundations of the entire city. Not just the Noble Land, but the tremors traveled outward, tearing through the earth. Even those citizens scattered across the distant edges of Alterian could physically feel the ground violently quake beneath their feet due to just how unimaginably powerful the Dark Magus’s ultimate attack had truly been.
