Dark Magus Returns

Chapter 1760 The Severed Arsenal

Chapter 1760  The Severed Arsenal

Although Raze hadn’t fought against Idore properly the last time they had met, he was already keenly aware of the Grand Magus’s deadly annoyances and spatial tricks. And looking around the ruined battlefield, it was abundantly clear that his teammates were now aware of them as well.

Knowing exactly what Idore could do, and having desperately fought him for quite some time before Raze had finally arrived… in a way, maybe that grueling delay was actually a vital part of Idore’s ultimate downfall. Idore’s arrogance in playing with his food had given everyone on the Crimson Crane enough precious time to figure out a tactical way to actually help Raze.

Which, in turn, allowed them to flawlessly hand him the exact right weapons at the exact right time.

Capitalizing on that teamwork, Raze had successfully delivered a devastating strike directly across Idore’s chest. Right in front of the Grand Magus’s golden eyes, Idore could see a vivid, horrifying spray of red splattering across his vision.

He could tell instantly that it was his own blood. He stood entirely frozen for a microsecond. He frantically tried to think back to the last time he had ever even seen his own blood before, but the memory was buried beneath centuries of absolute invulnerability. He could only process the shock for a moment before survival instinct kicked in.

“I didn’t go through all of this… I didn’t conquer centuries just to die here!” Idore roared, his voice cracking with genuine panic.

He violently gathered all of his ambient Wind magic power and threw it forward like a hurricane. The concussive blast pushed aggressively against Raze’s sword as the Dark Magus raised his blade to block the attack. In turn, Idore brilliantly allowed the sheer recoil of his own spell to be used as a physical force to violently propel his own body backward, blasting himself out of Raze’s immediate melee range.

As he rapidly made distance between the two of them, Idore quickly gathered blinding Light magic in his uninjured hand. He frantically brushed his glowing palm against his chest, tracing the diagonal shape of the deep wound. As his hand moved, the holy magic knitted the flesh and bone back together. In seconds, the wound had completely healed, and he was physically back in perfect condition.

At least, physically he was fine. Mentally, it was a different story. Idore was hovering in the air, staring blankly ahead. His breathing was incredibly heavy, and cold sweat was running rapidly down the side of his head.

‘I nearly died…’ Idore thought, his heart hammering against his ribs. ‘That was close… far too close.’

“Raze! Catch!” a sharp voice shouted out over the howling wind.

Turning his head slightly, Raze reached out his empty hand and flawlessly caught another heavy sword spinning through the air toward him. The person who had thrown it with pinpoint accuracy was Liam.

Now, Raze was dual-wielding. In one hand, he held B’s translucent, phasing sword; in the other, he firmly gripped the legendary All-Cutting Sword. Both of them were historically some of the most powerful, rule-breaking weapons that had ever been created in this world, and Raze absolutely wouldn’t let this golden chance slip away.

‘I’ll use absolutely everything I have!’ Raze thought, his eyes burning with dark resolve as he kicked off the platform and charged ahead once again.

Seeing the Dark Magus rapidly closing the distance, Idore violently snapped out of his brief shock. Reaching into his dimensional storage, he pulled out a massive, glowing enchanted bow. He quickly nocked a condensed arrow made of pure Fire magic, pulled the string taut, and let the blazing arrow fly directly toward Raze.

Just like when he had used it against Forma earlier, this special, high-tier bow exponentially increased the projectile’s strength and possessed an absolute tracking feature. It homed in on Raze’s heart like a missile.

When the blistering arrow came close, however, Raze didn’t even bother to dodge. He simply swung the All-Cutting Sword in a fluid, upward arc. The absolute sharpness of the blade effortlessly sliced straight through the tracking spell, cutting the magical fire arrow perfectly in half. The two harmless halves of flames flared out past Raze’s shoulders as he continued surging forward.

Then, Raze channeled his Qi into the translucent sword, using its unique phasing properties to physically push his own body forward, skipping through the air.

Seeing this terrifying approach, Idore panicked and cast a point-blank Lightning strike, aiming to instantly electrocute Raze now that the Dark Magus had breached his spatial barrier. But by actively using the translucent sword’s ability, Raze simply phased his physical body directly through the lethal voltage, emerging completely unharmed on the other side.

Bursting forward with his own god-like speed, Raze appeared right beside the Grand Magus and spun his body. As he rotated, he unleashed a devastating skill: the God Slayer Blazer.

A terrifying, consuming wave of absolute darkness erupted from Raze. The void-like aura washed over Idore’s legendary tracking bow. In an instant, the dark magic consumed the artifact entirely, rapidly degrading the enchanted material and forcing it to dissipate, turning the priceless weapon into nothing but falling ash.

“I’m not holding back anymore! I’m using absolutely everything I have to wipe you from existence!” Raze declared, launching into a relentless, high-speed flurry of dual-sword strikes.

Idore desperately conjured thick, glowing shields of Light magic to defend against the strikes that were heavily infused with Dark magic. The holy light managed to parry the shadows, but it offered absolutely zero resistance against the All-Cutting Sword. Idore narrowly had to contort and throw his own body out of the way to avoid being sliced into ribbons.

At times, when Raze’s strikes seemed to finally hit Idore, the Grand Magus’s body would shimmer, revealing he had performed a perfect, hard-light clone of himself to take the fatal blow. However, dodging the inevitable was only a matter of time.

Raze was no longer worrying about the residual effects of the god-tier items Idore was pulling out. He aggressively used the God Slayer Blazer again and again, utilizing the consuming void to swallow and stop Idore’s large-scale elemental attacks before they could even fully form.

Finally, Raze flawlessly broke through the Grand Magus’s guard and got close.

With a blindingly fast, horizontal strike from the All-Cutting Sword, Raze managed to slash cleanly through bone and magic. He severed Idore’s left hand completely off at the wrist.

The severed hand spun through the air. Gleaming on its fingers were several ornate rings—the dimensional storage rings that Idore was actively using to hold the entirety of his legendary arsenal and hoarded artifacts.

Before Idore could even scream in pain or attempt to telekinetically retrieve the severed limb, Raze spun his body again. He projected the God Slayer Blazer directly onto the falling hand. The consuming dark flames absorbed the flesh, the rings, and the pocket dimensions inside them, erasing them from existence forever.

After using the exhausting Blazer several times in a rapid row, Raze knew his momentum was stalling. He timed his next move perfectly. Tapping into his newly acquired mastery, he actively reversed his own localized time.

In a jarring flash, Raze physically broke away from Idore, resetting his coordinates back to a safe distance on the platform. Because he initiated the spell, all of Raze’s memories and combat awareness of the last few seconds remained perfectly intact. But the exact same couldn’t be said for Idore, whose temporal perception had just skipped, leaving him clutching a bleeding stump in absolute, disoriented confusion.

Raze lowered his swords, staring coldly at the bleeding god.

“One hand is gone. I know you can heal the flesh,” Raze said, his dark aura flaring. “But half of your legendary items and hoarded artifacts are now missing from this world. This fight is mine.”
