Dark Magus Returns

Chapter 1532: The Glory Guild’s End

Chapter 1532: The Glory Guild’s End

The Dark Guild members inside the Glory Guild were dominating.

On paper, the Glory Guild should have been stronger. They were recognized as one of the great guilds of Alterian, with years of prestige and resources. But strength meant little if you had no idea how to counter what you were facing. And the Glory Guild, for all their training, for all their resources, had never fought against Dark Magic like this.

Spells flew across the hall, powerful attacks that would have destroyed ordinary foes. Yet the Dark Guild answered with techniques they didn’t know how to predict.

A blanket of Dark Magic spread across the ground like a living shadow. Its properties warped and weakened everything that touched it. Ice magic, in particular, was reduced to brittle shards, its area of effect shrinking until it barely covered a few feet before dissipating entirely.

Glory Guild mages tried walls of ice, barriers of stone, even layered shields of flame. But whenever their spells passed through sheets of condensed Dark Magic, their strength withered. A massive fireball became nothing but a spark. A crushing boulder crumbled into dust.

The enemy had expected these barriers to act like Earth walls or Ice fortifications, something solid to overpower with brute strength. Instead, they were devoured.

And then there were the warriors.

The Dark Guild had something the Glory Guild didn’t, fighters from Pagna.

They moved with precision, instincts sharpened by battle after battle. The moment they entered the hall, their eyes scanned, pinpointing the strongest mages, the most dangerous threats. And once they locked on, they struck without hesitation.

There was almost no chance for the Glory Guild to rally. Their elite were picked off in seconds.

The Pagna warriors dominated.

The tide of the battle became clear almost immediately. Victory was slipping away from the Glory Guild, and there was nothing they could do to stop it.

At the heart of the slaughter, two figures stood above all the rest. Raze and Harvey.

On the second floor, they moved at lightning speed, eliminating wave after wave.

From time to time, Raze’s eyes flicked toward Harvey, watching him. Several mages unleashed desperate strikes, their spells roaring across the balcony, but it didn’t matter.

Behind Harvey floated a Dark figure, condensed magic shaped into something monstrous. Its arm swept through the air, blocking spell after spell. Not a single attack left a mark.

When Harvey stretched out his own arm, the puppet followed. The condensed darkness extended outward, lashing at the enemy, and in a single instant the bodies of mages disintegrated, turned to dust where they stood.

It was terrifying. The puppet moved in front of him constantly, shielding him, changing size, shifting its form as if alive. Each movement was perfectly synchronized with Harvey’s will.

Raze’s eyes narrowed.

’This amount of Dark Magic… it’s incredibly strong. And his control, it’s beyond what I’ve seen before. Has he increased a star level? He has to be at the Seven Star level now, right?’

Even Raze himself had only recently risen to Eight Star. To see Harvey wielding such power with ease… it was a reminder of just how talented he was. Not just strong, not just a leader of criminals, but a mage with potential. Perhaps one of the few in this world who might, one day, reach Nine Star.

That such a man had ended up leading the Dark Guild, it was almost astonishing.

Outside the guild, the chaos spread further.

Members of the Glory Guild arrived in waves, rushing in from missions, sprinting through the streets. They came in small groups, some still wearing travel gear, others still carrying bags of supplies. None of them knew the full extent of what was happening.

But even so, they tried to fight.

It made no difference. The army Raze had brought was prepared. They cut down the scattered reinforcements swiftly. The defenders of the Glory Guild were barely given time to draw their weapons before they fell.

Inside, the truth began to settle. The Glory Guild was finished.

Even the remaining members realized it. Their attacks slowed. Their stances faltered. One by one, they started to lower their weapons.

One man stood in front of the soldiers, his hands trembling as he raised them above his head. “I surrender!” he shouted desperately. “I no longer wish to fight! Please!”

The soldier hesitated, lowering his own weapon slightly. For a moment, it seemed like mercy might be possible.

But then, from the side, a spear of Dark Magic pierced straight through the man’s skull. His body collapsed instantly, lifeless on the floor.

And he wasn’t the only one.

Everywhere in the hall, those who had dropped their weapons, those who had begged for their lives, were struck down. Dark Magic lanced through their bodies without hesitation. The Dark Guild didn’t care. Words meant nothing. A raised hand meant nothing. Surrender was meaningless. Ths chapter is updated by novelfire(.)net

To them, the fallen were fuel. Each kill, each body, was a way to grow their Dark Magic further.

Varkos clenched his fists, his face twisting. “I knew fighting by their side would be hard,” he muttered, his voice heavy with disgust. “But this… this whole situation, it’s making me sick.”

The screams faded. The sounds of battle grew distant. And finally, silence fell.

Every single member of the Glory Guild had been eliminated. Not a single one left breathing. The once-proud guild was gone, erased in a single night.

The Dark Guild had succeeded.

Raze dropped down from the balcony, his boots hitting the blood-stained floor. Harvey landed beside him, his puppet dissolving back into his body.

Raze turned, raising his voice so all could hear. “Everyone, we have completed our task! Disperse at once! Return to the Dark Guild base!”

The order rang through the ruined hall.

They had struck fast, struck hard, and finished before the Grand Magus could even react. None of the other guilds had managed to arrive in time. To the outside world, it would look like the Glory Guild had been ripped apart in an instant.

And that was exactly what Raze wanted. A ripple. A message. A sign to the Grand Magus that he was serious, that he could not be ignored.

But what Raze didn’t realize was that ripples spread in every direction.

And within the Dark Guild itself, waves were beginning to form.
