Chapter 1061 Not The Risk
When being attacked by Mosak, Beatrix had desperately tried to use the golden globe to escape. The issue was that she had no idea how to use the artifact that was in her hands in the first place and, at the time, if it would even work or not.
Now though, with Zon having used his own artifact he had taken from a Deleter, they were sure that artifacts could work.
“I have no problem with handing the item over to you now,” Beatrix said as she walked over, past Lince and Zon, and then, with both hands holding the item, she pushed it forward to hand it over to Raze.
“I do have a little bit of advice. I’m not so sure testing out the item and using it here is the best thing. Who knows what could come through there? Or maybe even several portal breaks could occur, and we would have to fight a large amount of beasts.”
Raze carefully took the item from Beatrix, handling it like a newborn baby. Although he was quite weak, he could still walk and move just fine. It wasn’t like when he had taken several of the Cursed Qi pills at once.
He actually agreed with Beatrix’s assessment. With him at his weakest, it wouldn’t be a good idea at all for him to mess around with such a powerful item. Still, he couldn’t believe it.
‘I finally have it. After all of this time, I have an item in my hand that allows me to head back to Alterian! Coming to this world, I couldn’t accept the fact that there might not be a way back. It took a lot, and the person who hid this item didn’t even want me to get my hands on such a thing, but I finally found it.’
After a while, Raze’s eyes were no longer glued to the golden globe itself, and he looked past at Beatrix, who was just standing there patiently, as if she was waiting for something.
“After everything that happened, you, in the end, decided to give the item to me. The decisions you had were multiple, and I’m not truly sure why you even decided to do such a thing.”
Beatrix’s cheeks were flushing red, as she didn’t know how to react to the words either. It almost felt like Raze was trying to compliment her, and she had no idea why she herself was acting like this.
“Regardless, what you did helped me out greatly, and because of that, in my world, that would mean I now owe you a favor. In the future, if there is anything I can do to help you, I will.”
Beatrix thought about asking for that favor now, perhaps letting her stay in the Demonic or Dark Faction for a bit, but after witnessing how great of a power the Dark Magus had, she thought maybe she should think about it for a bit and not rush into things. She could survive… she hoped.
“Can I ask? I might know the answer already, but for my own peace of mind, what exactly are you planning to do with that?” Beatrix asked.
She knew that Raze could just lie to her, but judging by his character so far, it wasn’t something that he would do. She wasn’t the only one interested. Both Zon’s and Lince’s ears seemed to perk up as they heard this.
“I also don’t know how to really use this,” Raze answered. “It could take a long time to figure it out, and it’s time I don’t want to waste. I plan to take it to the Bonum Society. Since the item originally belonged to them, I’m sure that they should know how to work it.”
Tilting her head, Beatrix had to admit she was left slightly confused. She hadn’t even heard of the Bonum Society, and now Raze was saying this item originally belonged to them. She realized that she, along with many of those in the Light Faction, really had no idea what was going on in the world of Pagna.
And this Otherworlder, who wasn’t even from Pagna, had found out so much.
“I suppose you want to know more about what I will be doing after that,” Raze continued. “You saw my memories, so it should come as no surprise. Using the item, I will head back to Alterian and fight against the Grand Magus one more time. I intend to win.

“After that, I will hand the item back to the Bonum Society and have them decide what is to be done with the item. I have no intention of doing anything to Pagna or getting in the warriors’ affairs.
“The Light Faction, Alter, and the Divine Realm—that is an issue that they can solve themselves. Who knows, though? Taking out the Grand Magus might even stop these portals from opening up all over Pagna, and more Otherworlders like myself from coming here, if what the founder said was true.”
Beatrix didn’t know why, although the answer had satisfied her worry that the Light Faction wouldn’t be punished or that Raze had no intention of hurting Pagna, she felt somewhat saddened, and it was for Raze.
After all this time in Pagna, he was still heavily tied up in the past and with his revenge. Yet she couldn’t be completely surprised herself. For the first time, she felt a part of her feeling the same thing.
Her face had turned toward Ricar.
With the conversations over and the item in Raze’s hand, Lince had picked up Ricar’s body, and all of them were to head in the direction of the ship they had come in. Beatrix had decided to go with the others, for now, at least until they had reached the main continent.
Raze was holding onto the golden globe tightly, waiting for his magic to come back so he could place the artifact away. They had taken a few steps heading in the general direction when Raze felt something. His feet stopped reaching each other.
‘The air… it feels almost still,’ Raze thought.
‘Do the others notice something?’ Raze turned around, and when he did, he could see them, frozen still. Lince was halfway from taking a step. Beatrix looked like she was in the middle of a sigh.
And Zon was staring ahead, doing next to nothing. All of them were deadly still, not moving at all. It was as if time itself had been frozen.
