Dao Companion Crippled, Coveters Move
Chapter 602 519: Brother Pei Lost His Memory! Nangong Jin's Lies and Selfishness.
Nangong Jin pulled back slightly, her face flushed a shy red.
This was her first kiss. It was awkward, and she felt a little scared.
But the wonderful sweetness of Brother Pei's kiss lingered, flooding her heart.
She licked her dry lips and pounced on him again.
Pei Yuhang felt a surge of panic. He didn't understand why this Fairy, who called him "Brother Pei," kept coming on to him like this.
He wanted to push Nangong Jin away, but she willingly broke the kiss and pulled back slightly, though their breaths still mingled.
Nangong Jin's eyes shimmered, and her voice was as soft as a sleepy murmur.
"Brother Pei, we're Dao Companions... I'm the one you love most."
"Dao... Dao Companions?"
Pei Yuhang spoke, a little dazed.
Nangong Jin nodded lightly, nestling in his embrace.
"Yes. If you don't believe me, look. I have the Engagement Ring you gave me right here."
Nangong Jin quietly took the Silver Ring from her robes.
She used what little Spiritual Qi she had left, directing her Sword Qi to erase the engraved character "Ye" and carve her own name, "Nangong," in its place.
'Ye Liyuan, you owe me this.'
'Back then, you tricked me and stole Brother Pei... Now I'm tricking him to get him back, so don't you dare blame me.'
Pei Yuhang took the Silver Ring from Nangong Jin's hand. He slid it onto his finger and found it was a perfect fit.
"Are you... really my Dao Companion?"
Pei Yuhang looked at Nangong Jin, and a part of him began to believe her.
'This Fairy Junior Sister not only cared for me while I was severely injured and bedridden, but she also had my ring.'
'Besides my own mother or wife, I really can't think of any other woman who would treat me this well.'
"Mhm, of course."
"Lie down, Brother Pei. Don't get worked up... You just woke up and you're still very weak. You need to get more rest."
Seeing that Pei Yuhang seemed to be partially convinced, Nangong Jin felt a wave of relief, and her boldness grew.
She helped Pei Yuhang lie down and said softly, "Brother Pei, let me help you wash up..."
As she spoke, she reached out to undo Pei Yuhang's collar.
"Ah, wash up—"
A blush crept onto Pei Yuhang's face. He instinctively crossed his arms over his chest, his Adam's apple bobbing. "I... I can do it myself..."
This act of rejection made Nangong Jin frown slightly.
'Even with amnesia, you're still rejecting me, Brother Pei?'
'Why? Why won't you just accept me!'
Emotions churned within Nangong Jin. She sat astride Pei Yuhang, looking down at him.
As she stared at him, Pei Yuhang's breathing grew ragged. He turned his face away, the tips of his ears flushing pink.
"Junior Sister... don't look at me like that."
"You used to call me Jin'Er, Brother Pei..." she said, her voice laced with grievance.
"Jin'Er?"
"Yes. It's your pet name for me."
It was the first time she had ever deceived Brother Pei with such malicious intent, yet Nangong Jin was surprised by how smoothly the lies flowed.
She suddenly leaned forward, the tips of her hair brushing against the side of his neck.
"What are you so shy for? I'm your Dao Companion, the one who sleeps by your side... Don't you trust me?"
Nangong Jin's voice was as soft as flowing water as she spoke beside his ear, but her fingertips trembled. Her eyes were fixed on his pale lips, and her heart pounded so hard she thought it might burst from her chest.
"It's just a sponge bath. It's nothing between us. We've done... far more intimate things as Dao Companions."
As if coaxing a child, she softly whispered, instilling in Pei Yuhang the idea that 'we're Dao Companions, so anything we do is perfectly normal.'
Lured by Nangong Jin's soft whispers, Pei Yuhang slowly lowered the hands covering his chest.
Seeing this, Nangong Jin's own breathing grew hot and heavy.
Her slender fingers slowly undid the first button of his shirt, revealing his delicate collarbone.
GULP.
Nangong Jin swallowed hard, then quickened her pace, undoing the next button.
Gradually, Pei Yuhang's upper body was revealed to her. His muscles were well-defined, his skin as fair as jade.
Perhaps from nervousness, fine beads of sweat dotted his chest, shimmering like flecks of gold in the candlelight.
'My heart is beating faster than ever before. I feel so unbearably hot... my face must be bright red right now.'
'This is the first time I've ever been this intimate with Brother Pei.'
Suddenly, a daring thought popped into her head.
'Should I... seize the moment and just... do it with the innocent, amnesiac Brother Pei?'
However, the next moment, Nangong Jin's fingertips suddenly froze.
She saw a hideous scar on his chest—
It was the scar from when Pei Yuhang had thrown himself in front of her, taking the full force of the Ox Demon's strongest attack.
Back then, that blow had nearly pierced clean through his chest.
It was only thanks to the powerful constitution of his Giant Sun Saint Body and the healing properties of his Pure Yang True Qi that he had clung to life, allowing his body to slowly recover.
'If Brother Pei hadn't shielded me, he wouldn't have lost his memories... And here I am, trying to take advantage of him in his most vulnerable state.'
Nangong Jin lowered her gaze, the color draining from her face. All her previous amorous thoughts shattered in an instant.
"Does it hurt?"
Her voice suddenly grew hoarse. Her cool fingertips hovered over the gruesome scar, as if about to touch fragile liuli—wanting to, yet not daring.
Pei Yuhang shook his head and said softly, "It doesn't hurt much anymore..."
"Brother Pei, let me help you clean it."
"Thank you, Jin'Er..."
Nangong Jin rose to get a cloth soaked in fresh water. All thoughts of defiling Brother Pei had vanished from her mind; she now only wanted to take good care of him and help him rest.
After she finished, Nangong Jin had only washed his upper body. Considering he had just woken up and was still weak, she then helped him lie down to sleep.
Outside, a downpour raged through the night. The raindrops striking the blue flagstones sounded like shattering jade.
Nangong Jin sat beside Pei Yuhang, whispering softly, "All lust, but no nerve..."
...
...
At dawn, faint morning light filtered through the entrance of the cave.
Nangong Jin's eyes fluttered open, her long lashes casting shadows on her cheeks.
She turned her head to gaze at the sleeping man beside her. A gentle smile touched her lips, but an almost imperceptible, complex emotion flickered in the depths of her eyes.
Nangong Jin rose quietly and carefully covered Pei Yuhang's sleeping form with some brushwood.
She then checked the traps outside the cave. After making sure no beasts had triggered them, she took her Celestial Extinction Sword and went out to gather firewood.
While she was out, she also planned to look around for any berries untainted by Demonic Qi to give Brother Pei a change of taste.
Thankfully, both Pei Yuhang and Nangong Jin were capable of Fasting. Otherwise, food would have been their greatest challenge in a forest so heavily corrupted by Demonic Qi.
"I'll be back soon, Brother Pei."
Nangong Jin cast one last, reluctant glance at Pei Yuhang from the mouth of the cave. As she turned to leave, her skirt swayed gently in the morning breeze, making her retreating figure seem especially forlorn.
Deep within the cave, Pei Yuhang slowly opened his eyes. He took out the Silver Ring engraved with the name "Nangong" and pressed his lips together.
'Jin'Er... is she really my Dao Companion?'
'The ring is a perfect fit for my hand, but... why isn't she wearing a Silver Ring engraved with my name, 'Pei'?'
Pei Yuhang felt a pang of unease, yet he could also sense that Nangong Jin's kindness toward him wasn't an act.
'Besides, what would she gain from deceiving me?'
'I'm penniless and have no treasures. A junior sister as beautiful as Nangong Jin wouldn't be deceiving me just for my body, would she...?'
'If that were the case, I'd be the one getting the better deal. I'm a man; how could I possibly be the one losing out?'
'Surely no woman gets with me and thinks *she's* the one who came out on top.'
For the moment, Pei Yuhang couldn't figure out whether this business with Junior Sister Nangong being his Dao Companion was true or not. But there was one thing he remembered with a faint, nagging clarity.
It was a sliver of moonlight he happened to see shining into the cave last night.
Pei Yuhang vaguely remembered making a promise to a girl who was like moonlight itself.
He would definitely go back to find her...
