Chapter 784: Chapter 488: Godzilla
Half a day later, Wu Chen shared his hypothesis with Old Yi. Immediately, Old Yi’s expression turned grave. Amongst Wu Chen and the others, he was the first to become an Extraordinary Being.
He was also acutely aware that the intuition of an Extraordinary Being never comes without reason.
As an Extraordinary Being, their minds had subtly connected with a portion of the dark energy in the cosmos,
rendering their Sixth Sense nearly at the level of their other Five Senses. As soon as they sensed an anomaly, there was bound to be a problem.
Some ordinary people with sharper perception might also have an accurate Sixth Sense. For instance, in social interactions, they might suddenly feel the other person is untrustworthy and eventually discover that they’re indeed being deceived. This is the Sixth Sense, a unique sensory ability independent of the Five Senses.
Strictly speaking, the Sixth Sense isn’t just a sensory ability; it’s an undegraded ability to subtly sense numerous dark matters, including the "Merit" and "Primordial Qi" discovered by Wang Ye. These things can vaguely represent a person’s emotions and morality.
In the mystical study system, there’s also a saying: when someone makes you uncomfortable, it’s either that the person has issues or they’re counteractive to you. The best way during such times is to distance yourself from that person as quickly as possible to prevent further harm.
But ordinary people, after all, have severely degraded Sixth Senses. Hence, when they sense an anomaly, it might not always be the result of the Sixth Sense but rather an internal psychological effect. Extraordinary Beings, however, are greatly enhanced in this area and can more easily pick up on irregularities during social interactions. When they sense something amiss, there’s undoubtedly an issue.
This was why Old Yi’s demeanor was so solemn, for he knew the other party had already sniffed something out.
If nothing unexpected happens, within the next two days, the opposing side might launch an attack on the Mariana Trench.
"Let’s just hope the contingency plan left by Wang Ye can withstand their offensive," Old Yi muttered to himself.
Should the opposing side secure the massive Extraterrestrial Crystal Clusters in the Mariana Trench, their strength would undoubtedly soar.
It’s common knowledge now that the main bottleneck preventing the rapid advancement of human technology is energy.
And the Extraterrestrial Crystal Cluster represents an almost inexhaustible energy source.
With the Extraterrestrial Crystal Cluster, and at humanity’s current industrial level, many creations once confined to science fiction novels—like Iron Man armor from Marvel Movies—would no longer be mere fantasies.

······················
Sure enough, as Old Yi had predicted.
In the next two days,
the International Extraordinary Response Alliance swiftly launched their operation,
deploying three super nuclear submarines armed with over ten hydrogen torpedoes, leading more than two hundred units of small power armor,
setting off from an island in the Pacific Ocean, heading to the Mariana Trench.
As maintaining supercavitation technology requires massive energy, they did not sustain it en route to the Mariana Trench, and their speed remained below fifty kilometers per hour.
Meanwhile, beneath the unseen grounds of Antarctica,
Rumble!!!
A colossal Ice Ridge Dragon, approximately over twenty meters long, tore through the ice and emerged from underneath, witnessing the Antarctic’s polar sky and its endless glaciers anew.
The massive dark shadow burst through the ice, its jagged spine slicing through leaden clouds, with uncoagulated liquid ice crystals streaming between its scales like a flowing liquid nitrogen armor.
Roar!!!
The moment the sunlight touched its body, the Ice Ridge Dragon unleashed a terrifying roar, an audible shockwave radiated in all directions, shattering some softer layers of ice. The lower layers of ice fractured in a spider-web pattern.
Endless energy surged rapidly into its body, seemingly unlocking some sort of biological genetic limit, as its size began to expand rapidly.
Meanwhile, the ice beneath its feet quickly melted, and the materials hidden within the ice layer were absorbed by the Ice Ridge Dragon, becoming part of it.
Driven by the Primordial Qi inside, its long-restrained body,
grew from twenty meters to thirty meters, forty meters, fifty meters!
Its body twisted and expanded under the sunlight, with absorbed light particles initiating a chain reaction with the Extraterrestrial Crystal buried deep within the mantle.
The alloy-like bones grew at a visibly fast pace, and the muscle and skin did not tear or get injured but expanded at the same rate as the bones, with each of the outermost diamond-shaped scales expanding into ice-blue crystal shields.
Meanwhile, certain joint and end areas turned into a fearsome deep red, nearly black, due to some Black Dragon Gland hormones within its body. This change would slightly speed up its movements without causing them to become sluggish due to its massive size.
Gradually, its body loomed large enough to obscure the sky, deeply indenting the land ice beneath its feet, each scale sizable enough to conceal an entire person.
After absorbing enough light energy and materials, the Ice Ridge Dragon’s size finally exceeded a hundred meters. Its sinister and terrifying appearance was nearly indistinguishable from monsters depicted in special effect films.
Its eyes were filled with the cold indifference of a beast. After getting accustomed to the overwhelming power surge, it shook its head and started moving step by step towards the Pacific Ocean.
