Daddy, Come Home For Dinner!
Chapter 1193: He Really Is a Talent
Chapter 1193: Chapter 1193: He Really Is a Talent
Anyway, Mr. Li often sleeps on the sofa when he gets drunk.
Their sofa is wide and long enough, and the corner is designed like a single bed.
"Just help me get your dad to the sofa, that’s all you need to do," said Mrs. Li.
"Okay." Li Xiaoyun helped Mrs. Li get Mr. Li onto the sofa.
Mr. Li groaned a couple of times and lay on the sofa.
The cushions on the sofa are like pillows, making it extremely comfortable to lie down.
Back when Li Xiaoyun was still living at home, sometimes she’d lie there watching TV and, if she fell asleep, wouldn’t bother going back to her room and just sleep till dawn.
So there’s no worry about Mr. Li feeling uncomfortable sleeping there.
Because it’s actually quite comfortable.
Mrs. Li placed a basin beside the sofa so that if Mr. Li wanted to vomit, he could just tilt his head and do so.
Seeing this setup, it’s clear she’s experienced.
"Mom, you should get some rest early too; you’ve been tired all day," Li Xiaoyun said.
"Okay, don’t worry about me. Make sure you escort Ding Li home safely," Mrs. Li said, still concerned even though Zhao Dingli seemed honest.
She softly asked Li Xiaoyun, "When you take him back, hurry back home and don’t stay too late at his place."
"Okay." Li Xiaoyun nodded.
"Be honest with me, you two aren’t living together, right?" asked Mrs. Li.
Li Xiaoyun: "..."
Isn’t this making her lie?
"You’re not living together, are you?" Seeing Li Xiaoyun’s reaction, Mrs. Li asked, "How long have you been together anyway?"
"No..." Li Xiaoyun didn’t know how to explain, so she just said, "Mom, don’t worry, we’re just in a simple relationship now."
Mrs. Li already suspected they were living together, even if she didn’t want to know whether they were or not.
"I’m not against you living together; just think, you’ve only been together for a short time. Let the Zhao family elders, and Dingli, not think you’re so easy to live with."
"Mom, don’t worry, I won’t do that," Li Xiaoyun said. "It’s about two people interacting and understanding each other. You’ve only met Ding Li twice, so it’s normal to be worried."
"How to put it, it’s a tacit understanding between us; I can’t explain it clearly. But you can trust me."
Hearing this, Mrs. Li realized that Li Xiaoyun was practically admitting that she and Zhao Dingli were living together.
"As long as you know what you’re doing, I won’t interfere anyway; me interfering won’t help," Mrs. Li said, feeling a bit exasperated.
But indeed, as she said, they wouldn’t listen even if she interfered.
"Now that you’re grown up, I won’t say anything else except to remind you to protect yourself. You know what I mean." Mrs. Li said.
Li Xiaoyun: "..."
"Got it." Li Xiaoyun said, feeling awkward discussing this with Mrs. Li.
"Dingli, can you walk?" Li Xiaoyun asked as she approached Zhao Dingli.
Zhao Dingli, seemingly afraid of a headache, didn’t dare to nod. He stretched his neck straight out and said, "I can."
"Alright, then let’s head back," Li Xiaoyun said.
Mrs. Li saw that although Zhao Dingli’s eyes seemed unfocused from drinking, he still managed to say to her, "Ma’am, we’re leaving."
Mrs. Li: "..."
What a talent.
When Mrs. Li escorted them to the door, Zhao Dingli said, "Ma’am, don’t worry, I’ll behave myself. And in my heart, Xiao Yun is the best girl, and I wouldn’t think poorly of her."
Unexpectedly, Zhao Dingli heard everything Mrs. Li said to Li Xiaoyun.
Even drunk, he managed to respond logically.
Mrs. Li had assumed he was drunk and thus hadn’t been cautious.
Although she spoke quietly, it wasn’t inaudible.
Now, Mrs. Li started doubting whether Zhao Dingli was genuinely drunk.
How could he still answer so clearly?
"Mom, we’re leaving."
"Alright, stay safe on the way."
Mr. Li was drunk, so Mrs. Li didn’t dare leave him alone at home, only seeing them off to the door.
She only closed the door after watching Li Xiaoyun and Zhao Dingli enter the elevator.
Once it was just the two of them, Zhao Dingli staggered and leaned against the elevator.
Now he was truly drunk, and didn’t dare lean on Li Xiaoyun.
Afraid he couldn’t control himself, putting his full weight on her.
Li Xiaoyun quickly supported Zhao Dingli: "Are you okay?"
"When you’re around my parents, why do you have to put on such a brave front?"
It would be better to relax earlier.
He must have felt extremely uncomfortable putting on that tough act.
"I can’t leave a bad impression on the adults," Zhao Dingli insisted.
He truly hadn’t expected Mr. Li to be so tough.
Pushing himself to oblivion just to drink Zhao Dingli under the table.
Although Zhao Dingli hadn’t passed out, he truly had a headache and felt dizzy now.
He was unable to walk in a straight line.
Fortunately, Li Xiaoyun, worried about Zhao Dingli having to entertain, carried hangover relief tablets in the storage compartment of his car.
Once in the car, she fed him one before driving.
Li Xiaoyun drove very slowly, worried that sudden stops and starts might make Zhao Dingli want to vomit.
She also had experience regarding this.
With such care along the way, they finally reached home.
Only then did Li Xiaoyun relax.
She helped Zhao Dingli, finally getting home.
Although Zhao Dingli couldn’t walk straight, he could at least walk on his own.
So all Li Xiaoyun needed to do was guide the direction, not too tiring.
Back home, Zhao Dingli finally relaxed completely.
For the first time, he kicked off his shoes instead of neatly taking them off as usual.
Showing a bit of his carefree and wanton side.
Then, still wearing socks, without reaching for slippers, he went straight to the sofa and flopped down.
Li Xiaoyun removed her own shoes and changed into slippers, then went over with Zhao Dingli’s slippers and placed them by his feet: "Here, put on your slippers first."
Zhao Dingli obediently put on the slippers.
"I don’t want to wash up now, just want to lounge here," Zhao Dingli said coyly.
He truly had no energy left.
"Okay, how about you change into pajamas later and just sleep straight away. No need to wash up. Going one night without washing up is fine."
She noticed that Zhao Dingli was particularly fond of cleanliness.
No matter how late he returned from overtime, he insisted on taking a shower.
Even if just for a quick rinse.
Zhao Dingli obediently nodded: "Just for tonight. You won’t think I’m dirty, and you won’t think I stink. I’m usually very clean."
His speech now was somewhat slurred and his pace was slow.
He was truly drunk.
