Cursed Immortality

Chapter 1194: The One Who Fled (3)

Chapter 1194: The One Who Fled (3)

Far away from the turmoil of the Legendary Plains, beyond drifting asteroid seas and dying stars within the Star Ocean, there existed a secluded elemental planet.

It was a planet brimming with life, with towering forests of crystalline trees stretched across emerald plains, and rivers of luminous mana flowed like liquid light through valleys carved by ancient tectonic forces.

Massive floating landmasses drifted lazily in the upper atmosphere, wrapped in gentle winds carrying shimmering motes of elemental energy.

Every now and then, volcanoes erupted not with destructive fury but with controlled pillars of fire that fed nearby ecosystems. Lightning storms danced across distant skies without devastation, illuminating mountain ranges made of radiant stone.

This world was an ancient Elemental Planet of a rare cosmic environment where the four primary elements, fire, water, earth, and air, existed in perfect equilibrium.

At the center of this Elemental Planet, on a vast continent, rose a colossal mountain range with jagged peaks clawed toward the sky, each summit capped with ancient glaciers glowing faintly with condensed mana. The mountains themselves pulsed with deep elemental currents flowing through their veins like blood through a living body.

At this moment, hidden within the deepest valley of this range, a sleek black spacecraft silently descended from the sky. Its runic engines dimmed as it glided through thick clouds before lowering toward a flat stone plateau surrounded by towering cliffs.

Inside the cockpit sat Night Guardian King Nell as his sharp eyes scanned the familiar terrain through the viewing panel. Only when the ship fully landed did the tension in his shoulders loosen slightly.

He raised one hand, and a faint rune flashed across his palm, and the moment the rune activated, a vast runic array suddenly ignited across the stone plateau beneath the spacecraft.

Dozens of geometric circles overlapped, forming ancient spatial inscriptions that illuminated the entire ground.

’Rumble...’

The mountain trembled before the plateau split open. A gigantic circular opening slowly formed beneath the ship, revealing a deep vertical shaft carved into the planet’s crust.

Without hesitation, Nell guided the spacecraft downward. As the ship descended silently into the darkness, the shaft sealed moments later, and the runic array vanished.

The mountain returned to absolute stillness as if nothing had ever happened, without any energy residue, spatial disturbance, or trace of intrusion. It was perfect concealment.

Deep beneath the mountains, hidden far below the elemental crust, Nell’s spacecraft finally docked inside a vast underground facility carved directly into the bedrock.

Dim blue lights illuminated the enormous chamber, where mechanical platforms moved quietly, and advanced magic devices hummed with restrained energy. This place is clearly a private sanctuary; a base Nell had spent centuries preparing.

The coordinates of this Elemental Planet were hidden behind multiple layers of encrypted cosmic routes. Its cosmic gateway could be activated only with a personal key held by exactly three people.

Nell’s, and the two individuals he trusted the most, while no one else even knew this world existed.

Even if someone somehow traced his escape path, which should have been impossible because of the Axiom Severance Transit, they would still need the gateway key to reach this planet.

That’s why here, he was finally safe as he stepped out of the spacecraft and exhaled slowly. For the first time since fleeing the Zodiac Night Federation, the tension was draining from his mind.

"...Good." His voice echoed quietly through the chamber, "Even if the Mythical Coalition followed me... they’ll never find me here."

He had prepared too many contingencies, too many escape routes, and too many hidden hideouts, and if someone still managed to find him after all that, then the entire universe itself would have to be conspiring against him.

At least...that was what Nell believed because far above the mountain range, right above the plateau where the runic array had vanished, space suddenly twisted!

It wasn’t violent or loud because there were no spatial fluctuations at all, as the surrounding space simply grew silent, like a still lake whose surface had been frozen by an unseen force.

Thereafter, reality slowly unraveled as the sky parted apart like two invisible curtains being gently pulled aside, and from within the silent tear in space a figure stepped out.

He wore simple gray robes that fluttered faintly despite the windless air. The fabric appeared ordinary at first glance, yet subtle distortions rippled along its edges, bending space like heat haze.

His face was refined and youthful with sharp brows and calm eyes. Within those eyes were vertical dark pupils surrounded by a faint silver ring that shimmered whenever he blinked.

His presence was neither overwhelming nor oppressive; instead, it felt strangely relaxed, like someone taking a casual stroll.

Behind him, for a fleeting instant, something vast seemed to coil within folded space before vanishing again. This person was none other than the Myth of Reverend!

At this moment, he looked down toward the mountain range below with the same cheerful expression he always carried.

But right at this moment, another figure stepped out behind him. She wore a flowing robe of deep midnight blue covered in faintly glowing runic patterns.

Her face was hidden behind a smooth silver mask engraved with a slowly rotating pentagram, and soft strands of dark hair escaped beneath it, drifting gently around her shoulders.

The air around her constantly shimmered with invisible probability threads shifting in countless directions. This woman was naturally the Myth of Oracle, and unlike Reverend’s relaxed demeanor, her posture was rigid and alert, with a hint of horror and shock as if she had experienced something terrifying.

Despite her boiling inquisitiveness, she didn’t dare to question the Myth of Reverend, and at this moment, her masked gaze immediately swept across the mountains below before locking onto the exact spot where the hidden runic array had previously appeared.

The pentagram on her mask rotated faster as runic light flickered, and several seconds passed in silence.

At this moment, the Myth of Reverend tilted his head slightly as his smile widened into that familiar, harmless grin. He casually folded his hands behind his back and glanced sideways toward the Myth of Oracle.

The Myth of Reverend said cheerfully, "Heh, what do you think, Lady Oracle? I wasn’t wrong, right!"
