Cursed Immortality

Chapter 1192: The One Who Fled (1)

Chapter 1192: The One Who Fled (1)

The Federation Master had clearly heard of the ’Mythical Coalition’ because of her status and knew what kind of organization they were.

After all, it wasn’t like there hadn’t been any Quasi-Myths within the three Absolute Factions, but because of the Mythical Coalition’s overwhelming power, those Quasi-Myths also ended up leaving the three absolute factions and joined the Mythical Coalition.

Moreover, every leader-level figure of the three absolute factions knows about the Mythical Coalition, even though they were warned to stay away from them and never investigate their whereabouts.

Only the Holy King (Myth of Justice), seemed to be a special case for she was allowed to keep her position within the Cardinal Spirit Temple while also being a member of the Mythical Coalition.

Even the Illusionary Prince may have heard about them, but not as much as the Federation Master, because the records of the Dark Kingdoms had been gone with the Dark Rose. But he knows enough to never pick a fight with them, especially after seeing the Fire Wyvern!

At that moment, the Federation Master was not in the mood to continue with the meeting and ordered, "Everyone, please leave the Hall of Twin Sovereignty!"

Everyone was more than willing to leave, especially after they all saw what kind of terrifying fluctuations those two newcomers were emitting, and even the Illusionary Prince stood up, as he was only here to form an alliance with the Zodiac Night Federation.

However, now it seemed the Zodiac Night Federation might have offended the Mythical Coalition somehow, and if this turned out to be true, then they needed to stay as far away from them as possible.

But to everyone’s astonishment and dismay, the Fire Wyvern, also known as the Myth of Inferno within the Mythical Coalition, spoke nonchalantly, "Oh, there’s no need for anyone to leave."

There might be no intent behind his words, but to those who heard them, they felt a chill down in their spine because this could only mean they weren’t here to pay a friendly visit.

The Federation Master’s heart beat wildly with trepidation, but she tried her best not to lose her calm and respectfully inquired, "If that’s what seniors want, that it shall be. May I inquire if the Zodiac Night Federation has done something wrong?"

The Myth of Inferno remained nonchalant as he replied, "You should know what your little federation has done wrong. However, since the Mythical Coalition had never interfered with the Legendary Plains’ conflicts, I’ll give you a chance to make amends and do the right thing."

The Federation Master was appalled because, before, she was still hoping this was just a misunderstanding, but the Myth of Inferno’s words dashed her last hope. But she had no idea what the Zodiac Night Federation had done to make the Mythical Coalition send two Quasi-Myths here today.

Moreover, she wasn’t confident enough to go against these Quasi-Myths; even if she had some trump cards to deal with two Quasi-Myths, she couldn’t take on the entire Mythical Coalition. Not to mention, if she really tried to fight with them, even if it was just a misunderstanding, a real grudge would form.

Yet the Federation Master remained silent as her ocean-blue eyes flickered with restrained turmoil, ’What exactly have we done...?’

She had already run through every possible offense in her mind, like territory expansion, secret assassinations, and even the seizing of abandoned strongholds, but none of those should have provoked the Mythical Coalition, for that organization had never interfered in the conflicts of the Legendary Plains.

No matter how hard she tried, she truly could not recall anything that could justify two Quasi-Myths appearing personally in her headquarters.

Behind her, the Night Guardian Kings also exchanged silent glances as the pressure inside the hall had already reached an unbearable level.

The Illusionary Prince narrowed his eyes slightly as well, for he clearly sensed the two Quasi-Myths were not merely here to negotiate, but here to judge something.

Just when the Federation Master felt as if she had reached the end of her reasoning, something no one expected happened!

Behind the Federation Master, one of the Night Guardian Kings moved. It was extremely subtle, yet to the eyes of the two Quasi-Myths, it was like a lightning strike in absolute darkness.

’Ripple...’

Space around that figure suddenly trembled, and a distortion identical to the one that appeared earlier when the two Quasi-Myths had entered the hall.

The Myth of Inferno’s pupils instantly contracted, and Thunder Ogre’s, known as the Myth of Thunder, lightning veins flared violently.

But before either of them could react, the figure had already acted as the Night Guardian King raised one hand, and in his palm was a small object.

A dark crystalline shard engraved with layered spatial runes; the moment it appeared, the entire hall’s sealed space collapsed locally, before a miniature spatial corridor tore open like a crack in reality.

The man didn’t hesitate, and with a flash of pale light, his entire body wrapped itself into the distortion.

The process was instantaneous, as even the Quasi-Myths were caught off guard. By the time the Myth of Thunder’s lightning aura erupted, the spatial tear had already sealed.

Unbelievably heavy silence fell for every Legendary King stared at the empty space where the man had stood just moments ago with disbelief and shock.

The Myth of Inferno slowly narrowed his fiery eyes, "...Interesting."

But the most shocked person in the hall was the Federation Master as her pupils shrank violently and disbelief flooded her expression.

For the first time since the meeting began, her composure shattered as her voice rang through the hall in shock.

"Night Guardian King Nell!?"

The words echoed like thunder, making the remaining Night Guardian Kings freeze.

Even the Illusionary Prince’s eyes sharpened instantly because that name was extremely familiar.

Night Guardian King Nell was one of the Federation’s fastest-rising geniuses. A prodigy who had ascended to Night Lord General within only two thousand years and had recently been promoted to Legendary King State!

That guy was considered a genius within the Federation, and that’s why these new leaders know about him. Moreover, he was someone who supposedly held close ties to one of the Federation’s highest authorities, and after becoming a Legendary King, he became one of the Federation Master’s closest aides.

Yet now, that same genius had fled like a criminal the moment the Mythical Coalition appeared.

At that moment, the Myth of Thunder slowly lowered his massive arm while lightning crackled across his skin as his expression turned cold.

"So..." His thunderous voice echoed through the hall, "That was your man."

The Federation Master’s face paled slightly. But before she could respond, the Myth of Inferno suddenly laughed softly without anger; instead, he seemed intrigued.

"A Legendary King... escaping under the noses of two Quasi-Myths." His burning gaze slowly swept across the hall, "Impressive."

Then his eyes locked onto the Federation Master, and the warmth vanished instantly as he coldly stated, "Now it seems ...we have found the problem."

The hall fell into absolute silence because everyone present understood one terrifying possibility. Whatever crime had drawn the Mythical Coalition here, it might have been connected to the man who had just escaped.

If that was true, then the Zodiac Night Federation might have unknowingly been harboring something far more dangerous than they ever imagined!
