Chapter 1002: Compromise
Chapter 1002: Compromise
Once Jacob accepted the invitation, the Myth of White Swordsman seemed pleased, while the three legendary kings were visibly relieved since they were pardoned. After all, if two Quasi-Myths clash, it won’t benefit anyone, not to mention they can’t afford it.
At this moment, the Myth of White Swordsman suddenly flipped his hand. A black runic crystal appeared on his palm. Without any hesitation, he sent that crystal towards Jacob.
"This is a coordinate crystal that will lead you to my abode. I’ll be waiting for your arrival, fellow Ancient." The Myth of White Swordsman smiled.
Jacob took the coordinate crystal. He knew these crystals were made with rune crafting. They were like compasses, but they could only show location to recorded space coordinates, nowhere else. Constant Baron-0 was also using the coordinate crystal, which led her here, and the legendary kings were the same.
"Now, if you’ll excuse me. I’ll be taking my leave. I need to figure out how to get to the bottom of this matter, and maybe I might need your help. Of course, only if fellow Ancient agreed to it." The myth of the White Swordsman is ambiguously stated.
He clearly indicated the Serpent King’s treachery as he glanced at Constant Baron-0 behind him. Although he might not have shown it, he clearly knew that Serpent King wanted to target that woman behind Jacob for some reason.
But unexpectedly, the Serpent King had calculated wrong, and Jacob was not part of his plan. He wouldn’t have allowed Constant Baron-0 to walk away if Jacob weren’t here.
Furthermore, he didn’t know Jacob’s attitude towards this matter, so he probed his intentions. After all, if Jacob was protecting this woman, then it wasn’t worth offending him to chase after a ghost.
The Serpent King might be important, but he wasn’t worth offending a Quasi-Myth. Lastly, Jacob had already given him face and accepted his invitation, so there wasn’t any need to hasten this matter.
As for whether Jacob would really come, the Myth of White Swordsman sent an unexpected soul transmission to ensure that.
"If you want to acquire an Ascension Permit, we have a way. I’ll be waiting for your arrival!"
Jacob’s eyes flickered in surprise as he deeply glanced at the Myth of White Swordsman before he nodded, "I’ll be there."
Myth of White Swordsman grinned as he nodded, and then suddenly the space around him and the three legendary kings wrapped before they all vanished!
’Space law...he has comprehended its first concept!’ Jacob saw through the Myth of White Swordsman’s trick, ’A Quasi-Myth isn’t easy to deal with because they have not just their totem laws concepts, but also other laws. After all, they are only a step away from the Mythical King Rank...’
Jacob then looked at Constant Baron-0, who was flurried, and said, "Let’s get out of here."
She finally snapped out of her stupor and looked at Jacob with a hint of fear and awe. She knew today her life was spared because of him. Furthermore, he was a Quasi-Myth, and probably one of the strongest ones at that, or the White Swordsman wouldn’t have shown him respect.
However, when she thought about how they fell into this mess, her eyes shimmered with killing intent and hatred. She gritted her teeth in hatred and wanted to curse, but she knew this wasn’t the place or time.
After all, the White Swordsman might be listening to them. Without words, she started chanting something before a black ethereal runic circle spread below her feet.
Once this runic circle also covered Jacob, she muttered in strange language, "Constant Baron-0 requesting an emergency entry to the Timeless Tower!"
Almost instantly, the black runic circle flashed, and both Jacob and Constant Baron-0 vanished. However, just before they disappeared, Jacob threw a meaningful glance towards the spot where the White Swordsman had vanished.
Once they were gone, on the same spot, the space suddenly lifted like a curtain, revealing White Swordsman and three legendary kings.
The White Swordsman wore a wry smile and couldn’t help but mutter, "What a dangerous guy he is."
One of the legendary kings hesitantly spoke, "Leader, was he really that powerful? Just who could he be?"
White Swordsman’s expression fell as he coldly said, "You are not qualified to have an opinion in this matter. You should be glad that I even bother to waste a precious talisman on you lot, or all of you’ll be corpses! This was utterly humiliating!"
The three legendary kings quickly trembled as they knew the White Swordsman was annoyed.
"It was all Serpent King’s fault! He was the one who arranged this entire operation! He deserved what happened to him!" One of them gritted their teeth in hatred; in fact, all of them were furious and felt deep hate towards Serpent King since he almost dragged them down into the abyss.
"Hmph!" White Swordsman coldly snorted, "I’ll pay the Sea Serpent Race a visit. However, this was a well-organized scheme, and you might not see it, but a powerful formation is laid underneath these ruins. So, Serpent King was not alone in this. Investigate it thoroughly, especially the identity of that woman. She’s the key to all of this!"
---
Back on the top floor of the Timeless Tower, Jacob and Constant Baron-0 appeared.
At this moment, Constant Baron-0 finally couldn’t contain her fury as she spat, "They were all part of this! That Golden Constant is also in cohort with the Constant Baron-1, and that bastard Constant Viscount is behind everything!"
Jacob didn’t seem surprised after hearing her conjecture as he said, "I’ve killed ’them’ all. You can continue your investigation. I need to recover. Find me once you have more information, and also use whatever you need to summon this Golden Constant here. After all, you are the Overlord, aren’t you? Stop dragging your feet and act according to your status!"
Without waiting for her reply, Jacob headed towards his chamber. He was going to absorb those hourglasses and evolve his Jinx Core so he won’t have to bother with Constant Baron-0 anymore.
Furthermore, he had already exposed himself for quite a while today, and that was also the main reason he didn’t stay there any longer. He needs more strength; this was the first step towards his goal!
