Chapter 93: A... Schedule?
The word ‘you won’ made Khal sigh with relief and while lowering his hand a smile emerged on his face lightly.
“Thank God I didn’t need to continue this fight. Anything more than this would have gone beyond my limit. Even my Body Essence went below the critical point so if he would have healed them back I would have definitely lost.”
As Khal thought about this, the rigid crystal layer around his skin gradually began to fade away while the Beast-like presence that his body emitted all this time vanished completely too; he was once again, a Cultivator without a single sign of Cultivation Presence!
“Damn, he is just way too powerful! One time he exudes a powerful aura then the next he just stands still without any presence! He is just simply on a whole different level!”
“At the beginning, I thought he was weak because of his Talent. But now after witnessing what just happened… I take back all that I just said and thought about him! He is truly damn strong!”
“Yeah, now that others dare to say he is weak just because of his Talent I will be the first one to beat them up! No question!”
People spoke between each other spiritedly as each of them was admiring the feat that Khal just did; right now, everyone in the arena admitted that Khal was no longer the weak Cultivator they thought he was but instead an exceptionally strong individual! An individual who single-handedly defeated close to hundreds of Cultivators on the Second, Third, and Fourth Cultivation Stage with his mere Second Cultivation Stage!
Right now, in their eyes, he was a ‘legendary’ figure who accomplished something that they wouldn’t have ever dreamt of in their entire lifetime! It was simple madness!!
Or at least everyone thought like that, except a sole somebody whose expression was so dark and terrifying that a single glance at him could frighten anyone with a weak will to the point of pissing their pants in an instant!
Naturally, that individual was not anyone else but Alde, who currently clenched his teeth with such power that it was feared his teeth will break under the strength!
“…” the guy on Alde’s side stiffened up the very moment he noticed his friend’s complexion, not daring to utter even a single word now.
But of course, even that didn’t save him from the inevitable…
“You! What did you just say you will do if they lose?” hissed Alde the words through his teeth as he tilted his cold glare at Khal.
“!?” the very instant the guy noticed the gaze on his skin his whole body flinched slightly and stepped back an inch subconsciously, “I-“
But even before he could have answered, Alde grabbed him by his wrist firmly and started to drag him away, “Well, now you will have the time to fulfill what you have promised!”
And just like that, among tearful eyes, the guy had been pulled away by Alde while everyone else in the arena remained still, cheering on Khal loudly like some kind of famous individual.
From this moment on, he finally gained everyone’s respect in Moon Academy!
Naturally, this didn’t mean upperclassmen with greater Cultivation Stage won’t look down on him but those on or a few Stages above him definitely will. Anyone who could beat hundreds of Cultivators with different Stages alone in this world will get nothing but respect from others for sure!
“Heal.” Asur after admitting defeat walked next to his friends and after healing their body he turned to look at Khal and asked calmly, “What is your name? I was lazy to check before and now it’s too late for me to watch it again.”
Khal naturally knew that behind Asur’s question there were no hidden motives like in Alde’s before, so smiled friendly and replied, “The name is Khal Nevio. It was my pleasure to fight against you.”
“I see… Khal, you are strong. So no matter what others will say, keep that always in mind.” with that simple sentence, Asur turned around and after supporting Merlyn’s figure on his shoulder while Connor helped him carry Marx, he walked away in silence.
On the other hand, Khal watched all this with surprise in his eyes; he never would have believed that he would get such a compliment one day, especially from someone who he just beat even though he was several Cultivation Stages below! Anyone else would have put up a tantrum because of their ego or pride, so watching as Asur said those words with not a single lie behind them, he was pleasantly touched; to tell the truth, it felt extremely great!
“Haha, you sure love to surprise people huh?” with a firm but not hard hit, Logan patted Khal on the shoulder and grinned at him like an idiot, “So about that Beast Core. How did you obtain it?”
But it was the very exact moment as just Khal was about to answer, suddenly a loud voice came from the sides surprising both of them.
“Ah, finally found ya! I heard ya got into a fight so came to watch you! But who would knew that even before I arrive everything would come to an end? Haha! How unfortunate!”
With a brimming smile that revealed two rows of sharp white teeth, Bazz’s robust figure walked onto the platform, stepping right before Khal and Logan, “But it seems ya win without breaking a sweat right?”
“Bazz… I mean, Master! What business do you need me for?” asked Khal politely as he bowed at Bazz.
Naturally, Logan knew about everything that happened yesterday including the fact that Khal had been selected as a disciple by Bazz from the Blacksmith Department, so watching as Khal bowed and called Bazz as his ‘Master’ didn’t surprise him at all; while he was his Master in cultivation Bazz was his Master in forging so it wasn’t strange even a bit.
“What business I have with you? Do you dare to ask that even after what you promised me yesterday?” asked Bazz with acted seriousness but the next second his face turned merry once again and crossed his bulging arms before his chest, “Naturally, I am here to take you away to learn forging with me. Even though you have exceptional talent in forging you still have a long way to go so let’s not waste any more time here and let’s get moving! I need to teach you loads of things, so we will forge day and night!”
But even after Bazz turned around ready to walk away, Khal didn’t budge even an inch but simply stood still in one place.
“Huh? Is there a problem?” asked Bazz instantly, raising his right brow slightly as he gazed at Khal.
“Umm… Master, the matter is… I would gladly go and learn forging but what will happen with my Cultivation? In the end, I am still a Cultivator and need to kill beasts to become stronger.”
The question that Khal asked instantly made Bazz realize a crucial problem so he stood still and started to ponder. After a small while later, he tilted his gaze at Logan and asked, “What do you think about this matter?”
Logan who stood all this time on the side in silence with an indifferent expression looked at Khal and explained, “Well, I already told Khal that he needs to kill creatures and consume their Essence on his own but this doesn’t mean I won’t teach him too. So how about this? Every week, for two days he will learn forging with you, the next two days he will learn with me while on the remaining 3 days he can do whatever he wants, let it be doing missions, forging, cultivation, or just simply resting.”
“And what about the challenges?” asked Khal, as he realized he needed to fight every three days to keep the keys in his possession; but if he does that, there will be occasions where he needed to fight during times where he should forge with Bazz or learn with Logan.
But the answer he got from Logan next surprised him so much that his jaws opened wide.
“Oh, about that. I think you won’t need to worry about that for several months. Maybe Jas didn’t tell you this little secret, but you only need to fight every 3 days if you beat only 1 opponent until the deadline. However, if you beat several more in a short period, then that will push the time limit out. So for example, if you beat 3 people on the same day, you can rest for 9 days before the need to fight once again. Considering that you have beat close to a hundred… Well, do the math alone, you can do that too.”
When Khal heard that Logan finished talking, he already closed his mouth tightly shut while his eyes showed a slight shock; if this was true then that meant he won’t need to challenge anyone for close to 9 months! This was extremely great news for him, especially now that everyone feared to challenge him!
“If that is true then I have no objection at all.” nodded Khal firmly, instantly accepting Logan’s previous idea.
“Great, then that will be your schedule!” said Bazz with a brimming smile, and without waiting for any further questions he dragged Khal away from the platform in a flash.
