Cultivation Struggles of a Lowly Fox

Chapter 894 – Mai and Yu & Southern Sect

Mai overlooked everyone. Everything was very peaceful. Feifei was quietly sleeping inside a bed that the Demonic Foxes, with cooperation from the spider and Yuqi, prepared for her.

It was honestly too soft to her liking, but Feifei liked it a lot, so nobody said anything about it.

"How are the Chameleon Tribe?" Mai asked Yu.

"They are doing fine. A few of them are depressed due to lack of Sun, so I would like to propose that once someone gets out, they should mention it to Aiko." Yu narrowed her eyes. They couldn't stay outside for too long, but that brief moment should recharge their batteries.

"That is not a bad idea, but they can't end up like us." Mai pursed her lips gently. "It was fun having such a grand battle, but in hindsight, Aiko is not protected enough."

"While I understand your worry, it's misplaced. Aiko and Mei, respectively, know what is best for them. I understand you are her sister, but you should not baby her like a child." Yu patted Mai's back.

"But she is younger..." Mai pouted her lips as she protested those words.

"Yes, yes." Yu kept patting her back.

"You are doing that on purpose." Mai glared at her gently.

"I have no idea what you mean." Yu played innocent.

"I will bite you." Mai threatened her playfully.

"You already did." Yu shot back.

"I will leave marks." Mai changed the tactic.

"There is no room left." It was not very effective as Yu deflected it easily. "But I don't mind if you want other Demonic Foxes to gossip about this."

"..." Mai sulked even more, but then she paused. "This place is peaceful..."

"But we don't belong here." Yu warned Mai, so that she wouldn't get used to this place and turn into a shut-in.

"I know..." Mai didn't really want to go outside, but she understood she couldn't stay in here.

"It will be alright, believe your sister, believe Aiko." Yu smiled gently.

"Why do I feel like you are trying to chase them?" Mai glared at her again.

"I have no idea what you mean." Yu shifted her body and Mai slapped her cheek.

"Rascal! I dote on you enough!" Mai pouted her lips yet again.

"But threesome sounds so nice." Yu hummed innocently.

"You-" Mai choked on her saliva when she heard those words.

Feifei was silently listening to everything that was happening. She was very happy that everyone was getting along and that nobody was trying to abuse anyone. This was a perfect and peaceful time. Time that she wished would never end...

{A bit back in time, just when the Fox Village disappeared.}

"Grandmaster" The Southern Sect Leader nodded towards him.

"What's wrong?" The Southern Sect Grandmaster chuckled.

"I never imagined we would be taking the whole Sect with us." The Sect Leader pursed his lips.

"There are times we have to move even if we don't want to and this is one of such times." The Grandmaster shook his head. "This place will be abandoned. The Foxes moved, the Beasts were hostile to us, but not only that, they already moved most of the Beast Village out of this place."

"!" The Sect Leader widened his eyes. "How do I not know of this?!"

"When was the last time that you went out?" The Grandmaster rolled his eyes.

The Sect Leader was just about to open his mouth, but he was interrupted.

"And no, when the Fox came over to our Sect 'that' time, that doesn't count." The Grandmaster shook his head.

The Sect Leader pursed his lips. 'You could've at least let me have that one. I know I'm busy!'

"Anyway. The most important Sects that are maintaining the balance and 'market' are moving away. If we stay here we will either be plotted against by the other Sects, or fall behind because of the lack of resources." The Grandmaster shrugged. Now that he knew that 'she' was alright, he didn't mind ditching everything and running away.

He would establish a nice and famous Clan, and then invite her over for tea. Yes, those days would be amazing...

"Stop daydreaming and tell me how you intend to accomplish that." The Sect Leader sighed.

"We use the 'Forbidden Array'." The Grandmaster beckoned.

"What? No, explain yourself right now!" The Sect Leader was both shocked and angered. If they activated that Array, many might die during the usage.

"We will still take the continental flying ship and move the disciples as per the agreement with the main Sect, but I can feel it, this place will sink." The Grandmaster pursed his lips. "Those that were not picked to be 'moved' to the main Sect, will be moved through the 'Forbidden Array'."

"A lot of them will die, while everyone else will become the Outer Disciples doing menial work." The Sect Leader frowned.

"That's their limit. It's better to embrace it early and grow from it than die in this place and never have the option again." The Grandmaster didn't like this idea either, but they could cleanly take all of their Disciples to the mainland without the worry of them being killed by the upcoming war.

"..." The Sect Leader sighed. "I'm against it."

"Then tell them the danger and what they will gain in return." The Grandmaster shooed him away. He was the Sect Leader, not him. He was supposed to be the one doing the heavy lifting, while the Grandmaster was supposed to guard against external threats.

"You make it sound so easy." The Sect Leader frowned. "You know that most of them will jump on that opportunity."

"We would too, don't make it sound like we wouldn't." The Grandmaster rolled his eyes.

"Did you forget your brother somewhere? Why are you so on edge." The Sect Leader couldn't understand his haste.

"I wish." The Grandmaster still had enough room to joke around. "But why do you think the Northern Sect keeps antagonising the Foxes?"

"First it was supposed to be 'Natural Treasure', right?" The Sect Leader still could remember that wild skirmish.

"En. Then it was the tea leaves, and now they want to wipe them out." The Grandmaster nodded his head. "But do you know why?"

"Are they a threat?" The Sect Leader asked back, since he was not 100% sure.

"You tell me." The Grandmaster turned towards him the endless mountain peaks spreading just behind him.

"..." The Sect Leader paused. "Normally I would say no."

"But that's only considering the previous Fox Village." The Grandmaster narrowed his eyes.

"En. The old Fox Village was no problem, but this new one?" The Sect Leader knew a bit of information about it, but so little that it was actually scary.

Previously, information was very easily obtained about Foxes, but once the 'invasion' happened from the 3 Sects, everything changed.

The Fox Village went silent, not because it was defeated, no. The 3 Sects lost miserably and had to scrap their plans and build makeshift continental ships just to scrape by. It was because there were no more moles inside the Fox Village, and the moles that survived no longer provided any significant information.

The scariest thing about this was the unknown. What were the Foxes doing or thinking? Nobody knew and this terrified them.

"See?" The Grandmaster chuckled.

"I get what you mean." The Sect Leader sighed. "I heard that the Saintess and Peak Elder were good friends of the Foxes?"

"That is correct. We can use that when following the Foxes around, but we should not push anything." The Grandmaster slowly nodded his head. They could get information subtly, in a roundabout way, but they should never force.

They were the friend of this new and mighty group, but until that group stabilised, they should not make enemies of them.

"That is obvious." The Sect Leader now completely understood the danger of this situation. "But I still believe we should let the Saintess and others meet the Foxes if they wish to."

"That's only natural. They are friends. You should not stop friends from meeting." The Grandmaster smiled. "I also believe that the friendship will be useful once they join the Beast Sect."

"The Beast Sect, huh?" The Sect Leader paused. "Not the Fox Sect?"

"Why that one?" The Grandmaster narrowed his eyes.

"... They have a bigger legacy?" The Sect Leader tried to find something that would be beneficial, but it was really difficult.

"If that's all, there is no need to join them, especially with the surrounding rumours." The Grandmaster shook his head.

"You think the main Sect will care about that?" The Sect Leader rolled his eyes.

"He might be... questionable when it comes to leadership, but he is a coward. Cowards will always find a way to coexist, even if it's a bit forced." The Grandmaster would just have to snap a few legs to prove his point, but everything should work out in the end.

"Fine, I will see what I can do, so let's gather everything and leave this damned place.

{Overlooking the Sea}

"..." The Sect Leader stared at the huge shadow in the distance.

"..." The Grandmaster scratched his head. When he saw them making 'use' of those ships, he didn't think it would be 'THAT'.

"So... big ship, huh?" The Sect Leader coughed awkwardly.

"Be honest, have you ever seen anything bigger than that?" The Grandmaster couldn't believe his eyes. Even he couldn't see the end of that ship, and he made it all the way into the Upper Mortal World!

"No, not at all." The Sect Leader pursed his lips. "Oh, they are quite the beauties?"

"If you get blinded like that, you will lose something precious." The Grandmaster chuckled sinisterly.

"I'm all for a little wrestling." The Sect Leader joked around.

"Well, your anal virginity is at stake, so you should be damn good at it." The Grandmaster laughed.

*Cough* "Now that I think about it, they are good leaders, so let's just talk to them and nothing else." The Sect Leader rubbed his nose awkwardly. He never expected those Foxes to have that kind of 'kink'.

"Don't be afraid, they don't bite as long as you are not rude." The Grandmaster kept laughing.

"Is staring rude?" The Sect Leader wanted to at least look at them here and there.

"As long as you keep staring at their faces only." The Grandmaster narrowed his eyes.

"But those clothes-!" The Sect Leader complained. Everyone wanted to enjoy some eye-candy especially if they were THAT gorgeous.

"Yes, yes. Keep talking and you will start wrestling." The Grandmaster chuckled. He had his own eye-candy, but fortunately, she allowed him to stare to his heart's content.

"Dammit." The Sect Leader ruffled his hair and went ahead to greet the Foxes...
