Cultivation Struggles of a Lowly Fox

Chapter 889 – Flying mess…

  • Next Chapter

The flying battle ships fired their Qi cannons, but...

"They don't have that much range..." Moon Aiko suddenly lost interest in those cannons. It felt closer to squirt palms. It's when you hold water in your hands and squeeze them together to form a sort of pseudo-water cannon.

"It depends on the Qi density, but since we are quite low, they won't have much range." Mei chuckled. She was now convinced that they were just idiots, but could things have changed so much since the last time she was in this place?

Shaking her head gently, it was impossible to tell just yet. They might be a bit more stupid in this place, but there was no telling that the same could be applied on the mainland or Upper Mortal World.

"They are useless." Moon Aiko said bluntly. She believed that they should absolutely know the range of those cannons, as to not waste any energy while firing them.

To her, this was more like a short range hammer than long distance rock smashing into something.

"Can we build something better?" Moon Aiko had this strange craving, a craving about weaponising this continental flying ship with rows and rows or cannons.

"We have the materials, so it shouldn't be impossible." Mei paused. "But not now, after we have solved the Beast Sect situation, we can use the rest materials to strengthen ourselves and play around." She was a bit worried that Aiko would get out of hand if she gave her the permission.

"That's too bad. It seems like a good idea to do it while we are bored." Moon Aiko pouted her lips. With their idiocy, it was unlikely to inflict any significant damage upon the continental flying ship. They were pretty much wasting their resources, firing blindly, thinking that their ship would be hit just because they fired something.

"Well, once it hits, we will know if those things are useful." Mei didn't want to discourage Aiko just yet. There were things she couldn't predict, so Aiko having things to play around with... was not a bad idea.

"That is fair. How long will we have to wait?" Moon Aiko tilted her head, looking forward. Judging by the distance, it didn't seem like they were actually closing the gap.

"They are trying to make us drop our guard down." Dai Lu said seriously.

"Really?" Moon Aiko turned towards her as if asking with both words and body. Mei also turned towards her, wondering if she saw something they didn't.

"No. That's my assumption." Dai Lu giggled playfully.

"..." Both of them stared at her for a while before turning around.

"Let's go somewhere else." Mei walked with Aiko away from Dai Lu.

"Right, it's better to be alone." Moon Aiko agreed that playing like that was a bad thing, especially when they had such a serious conversation.

"Ah?" Dai Lu was left alone, abandoned. Considering what kind of banter the whole group had, she thought she could play around too, but it seemed like this time it was too much? Why? She didn't do anything out of the line...

...

The Northern Sect's flying battle ships kept shooting the cannons, but none of those shots hit directly.

"I wonder how much ammunition they have." Moon Aiko chewed on some delicious spiced jerkies.

"It depends on how many Elders they have on board, but judging by the light, it seems like they are slowly getting tired." Mei noticed that the light from the cannons diminished, so they were probably reaching their limit of what they could do.

"Does it require a lot of energy?" Moon Aiko wanted to know at least some of the inner workings of those things.

While they were useless at this distance, nobody could say for sure that would be the case for short range 'things'. Toys, weapons, tools, there were a lot of applications one could use this ‘technology’ for benefit.

"It depends on the limit of the cannon and how much you actually pour it, but it's usually made such that the Elders use either 1/100 of their Qi or less. You can also power it with Spirit Stones, but that's a very expensive option compared to using just 'muscles'." Mei explained briefly since she lost all interest in those flying ships. She didn't even want their Floating Stones, that's how bored she was!

"How long until we reach our destination?" Moon Aiko didn't want to observe this shoot-out for too long. Not only was it boring, but the light coming from their side was very annoying.

It had no rhyme or rhythm, so it was also impossible to have any kind of message hidden within.

Moon Aiko suddenly turned towards Mei. "Can we shoot them down?"

"Just wait for tomorrow and I will let you decide their fate." Mei smiled gently, feeling quite happy with her creation.

"Dai Lu." Moon Aiko didn't want to take chances, so she would just assign some work to her.

"En?" Dai Lu was confused why she was suddenly called over.

"If they try to run away, just split them, we can salvage what is left later." Moon Aiko gestured, cutting with her arm like she was trying to split a fish.

Dai Lu stared at Mei, wondering if that was fine to do.

"It's fine, just do it if they try to run away." Mei waved her hand. She had no opinion about this because her plan involved them chasing them up to the ocean and not just them turning around when it was inconvenient to chase them any more.

"Very well." Dai Lu liked that idea. She would be able to test the reach of her energy in combat- target situation which was important later down the line.

What was her limit? She didn't know that, there was nothing powerful enough in this place to threaten her now that she had all her tails back. She could even change into her Human Body Form without any repercussion because of loss of tails.

Overall, this was a perfect situation gifted to her by her two wonderful Masters, or Mistresses, not that she would be invited into a bed, ever.

...

Moon Aiko and Mei chatted for a while until that annoying light disappeared.

*Shhhhhh*

A strange noise came from Dai Lu as she readied her sword to split them in half.

"Ah, they are running away." Moon Aiko was impressed that they persisted for so long, but they wouldn't be able to escape.

With Dai Lu around, it was impossible. Her reach far exceeded what even she believed was possible.

The line was first made in the sky. The clouds parted seamlessly as a highway was created high above them.

It was a perfect split, as if someone painted the sky that way.

The second line appeared in the middle of the first flying battle ship. The line shone, indicating where Dai Lu's Sword Intent traced.

*rumble*

The first flying battle ship was beautifully and cleanly split in half? Defence? It was easily split. Resistance? Non-existent, as if the barrier was made of a piece of rice paper.

Dai Lu pursed her lips when she noticed that line appeared on the mountains far in the distance. It seemed like she still underestimated the extent of her abilities, but she could not be blamed. She was moved from the Upper Mortal World all the way here because her power kept dropping, but even then...

'Was it supposed to have such range?' Dai Lu was doubtful that she would be able to accomplish this even when she could return to her prime.

The answer to all of those questions was a no. The range was only accomplished thanks to all the experience she encountered and experienced. The nights that she kept swinging her sword, trying to improve it enough so her drop in damage could not be seen outwardly.

However, the drop in power was too severe, no matter what she did, she could only grow so quickly...

"This is nice." Dai Lu marvelled at her prospects. She was using a completely normal sword because her own was 'confiscated'. 'Well, Aiko already severed the thread between my sword and me and Mei refined my body enough that I wouldn't be able to use that sword anyway.' She was far superior to what she was before, the sword was no longer useful to her, maybe she could even learn the Swordless Swordsmanship? That would be amazing.

"The other one is escaping." Moon Aiko cheered on Dai Lu, while also reminding her that there was one more to go.

"Ah, yes. The distance was so much more than I expected that I got lost in thought." Dai Lu genuinely seemed excited about what just happened. Sure, she was not jumping around like some young girl, but her giddy expression and 'bounce' proved her point enough.

"You picked something nice." Moon Aiko nudged Mei as if assessing their 'bodyguard'.

"Hands off, that one is mine." Mei playfully nudged Aiko's forehead.

"I know." Moon Aiko pouted, but she had those cute Twins and twins, so there was no need to take something that Mei owned.

"Why do I think you are thinking about something naughty?" Mei's lips twitched.

"You are imagining things." Moon Aiko felt a bit exasperated that Mei would think that. She didn't think about sex all the time, alright!?

"..." Mei gave her a playful smile as she sipped her tea.

Moon Aiko looked down, a certain dust cloud was still being kicked up, so it seemed like that wolfy was still following.

'I wonder if she has greater endurance than I have...' Moon Aiko was talking about her sprinting stamina. There had to be a limit to it, but maybe that's why she would also rest whenever she would catch up.

'Or maybe she was bored...' Moon Aiko thought that was also a possibility.

*rumble*

The second flying battle ship was cut in half by Dai Lu, her precision increased immensely just between those two strikes.

"Why am I surrounded by monsters..." Mei was completely speechless. If Immortals saw this, there would be a bloody fountain party going on right now.

Fortunately, she was trained well by Aiko, so Mei was only shocked and didn't convulse or fall to the ground, coughing blood violently.

'It feels like yesterday that I was cooking a meal in that cave.' Mei reminisced about the past as the continental flying ship turned around to pick up what was left of them.

Well, most of them would be alive, but would they be trying to fight them when their flying battle ship was cut in half like a tofu?

...

The answer would be yes, but since Aiko's group was bored, they played with some of them.

"I'm surprised you didn't surrender." Mei shook her head towards the tired Human Elders. It seemed like firing those cannons took a toll on them.

"You know nothing, Vixen." One of the Human Elders spat on the ground, but he was ignored by everyone, like he was some kind of puff of bad shit...
